I'm chincy with 5 star yelp reviews, but Ian did a great job at our wedding. We had a couple of our vendors drop the ball but Bright Glare Pictures did awesome and he helped make up for shortcomings in other areas. The Good: Affordable, adaptable, and capable. Ian gave us everything we asked for and more. He was the only wedding photographer I talked too (5 total) that immediately offered to supply the unedited images from our event, which was a requirement for me. The Bad: Nothing. Like I said, Ian did a great job in all areas. I really have no complaints. The Ugly: We are going to have be careful bragging to friends who spent a lot more on other photographers that didn't get them what they wanted. I will be highly recommending Ian to any friends planning to get married in San Diego. read more

Ian was amazing!!! The morning of the wedding I realized we didn't have a projector for our slide show, he rented a projector/screen and brought it the day of...saved me!! None of the other vendors offered to do that...He seemed to get along with all my other vendors as if they had worked together 1 million times. Very comfortable to be around and very funny. During the reception he was the guy in the background, seemed to be everywhere but you never even knew he was there. He brought his drone and did a bunch of outdoor shots with us (I'm so excited to see his work). I was hesitant to hire a videographer for my wedding because of how much i had already spent of a photographer. After asking other brides they said they wish they would have had one because pictures are fun to look back on but it just wont capture your day the way a videographer can. I am so glad i listened!! I just got my videos last night and i couldn't have been more pleased with the way they turned out. Ian had made a 10 minute highlight of the day in one dvd and another one with just my ceremony for a third of the price that i had gotten from other videographers. He was professional and polite, and even traveled over 2 hours for my wedding at no extra charge. After a year of planning the day goes by in the blink of an eye. We paid him to video tape our event, but that is not what we got. We instead felt like we had invited another family member to my wedding. He was very friendly and helpful beyond what was expected. He was amazing at what he did and how involved he was. He made the process and day go by very smoothly. Honestly my wedding day was better with him in attendance. Ian did a fabulous job for me, and was very flexible, too. Originally I had arranged to have him video a presentation I was scheduled to give in Los Angeles, but that got cancelled. I was able to reschedule him to record a talk in Carlsbad, instead. He used two cameras so he could get both longshots and closeups, and edited these smoothly into the video. I hired Bright Glare Pictures for my wedding in September in San Diego and was extremely pleased with them. They were flexible with what I wanted and very professional. I was able to get footage at the house I was getting ready at, at the ceremony location, and then at the reception location. Our videographer caught the most important parts of our wedding and it was awesome to replay it all over again and share it with our loved ones. On the production side they were great, but they went above and beyond for me afterwards. I left for my honeymoon to Europe and wanted to show the video to my family in Austria. Ian shipped the video to our hotel room on the east coast and we were able to pack it with us and show it to my family who couldn't make it to the wedding. Now that is service! read more

(Written by my wife, and I agree wholeheartedly!) At first I didn't think that we would need a videographer, but my husband really wanted one. I am SO glad that I listened to my husband on this. Photos are great to have from a wedding, but having a video of your special day is a MUST! Ian was great! He had multiple cameras placed all over the church, so he was able to get amazing angles. Even just in my walk down the aisle alone I was able to see myself walking down from the front, from behind, the side, and an almost birds eye few. Ian had placed a camera on a balcony at the back of the church. I had no clue that he did this until I saw the video, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was worried that having a videographer during the ceremony would feel intrusive during what is supposed to be a very special and intimate moment in our lives. But I honestly didn't even notice that he was there. After the ceremony we headed to the reception. I was great to see everyone dancing and having a great time. Pictures were great to see one moment in time, but with the video it was honestly like reliving the incredible day all over again. All the emotions come flooding back, and you get to hear the music and the laughing. Ian was very professional and personable. We didn't think we would need him for the entire time of the reception, so when his time was almost up he let me husband know. We were so happy that he was capturing such an important time in our lives that my husband asked if he could stay for another hour. He said yes with no hesitation. Ian was great at communication as well and once the video was ready for us, he went to my husbands work to drop it off. He even created a cute DVD cover with a collage of stills from the wedding. I found this company via Thumbtack, and decided to use them for my father's memorial based on other's reviews and their rate. I think I booked them about two weeks before the event. Communications with Ian was prompt and professional. Everything on the day of the memorial went smoothly. For the whole package, which included one videographer, compilation of the DVD, and two DVD copies, my price was $300. This was for about an hour footage at the memorial, so I am not sure how comparable it is to weddings. In any case, I was pleasantly surprised by the finished product. Although the DVD did take some time to arrive (their office was in the midst of moving at the time), the finished product was thoughtful and nicely edited. The videographer took some footage of the displays we had out, as well as the flowers and other background settings - not just the memorial service itself. Ian also edited in the actual slideshow I had made into the DVD, which was a great touch. (The slideshow at the memorial didn't project well due to lighting/audio issues). It's certainly not fancy Hollywood style cinematography, but I am happy we didn't just ask someone to videotape the memorial. It was totally worth the money spent. All in all, great service and quality DVDs:) I trust them and would recommend their services to keep that special memory. read more

Ian was the videographer for our daughter's wedding in Big Bear, California, July 11, 2015. I was able to view the video yesterday, and I was very impressed. Our daughter told us it was great! He arrived early and took a lot of video of the beautiful venue, Gold Mountain Manor, before the ceremony.
