I got the idea that Jason should have his own signature cocktail. I had the perfect name for it and a list of drinks he likes, but I'm no mixologist, so I needed help to pull this off. Sonya McKinney, the manager replied to my request saying she was all in. And boy was she! From her creative expertise, the "Liberty Risk" cocktail was born. Jason is a retired Navy fighter pilot with an ornery streak a mile wide. Whenever the aircraft carrier came into port, the crew was at liberty to enjoy time in town, unless of course, they'd done a mischief and found themselves on liberty risk, and thus restricted to the ship. Jason wasn't completely unfamiliar with liberty risk. "Liberty Risk" became the name of his boat, his most prized possession, making it also the perfect name for his signature cocktail. Sonya didn't just create an awesome cocktail, she hung a professionally made banner above the bar introducing the drink, wrote and laminated the backstory of the drink, and bought a special Navy veteran glass in which to present the drink, complete with real Navy wings that she attached to a golden cocktail skewer to garnish the drink! She also arranged for the musician who was playing that night to lead the whole bar in singing Happy Birthday to him. Thanks to Sonya, the whole experience was unparalleled and it's a special memory Jason and I will always cherish.

Compared to other cigar bars, this one falls short in both value and the variety of cigars…read moreavailable. The biggest issue, though, is the overall atmosphere. When an employee walks into the humidor while you're trying to browse, it creates an uncomfortable feeling--almost like they don't trust their customers. Part of the experience of visiting a cigar bar is being able to take your time and explore the selection at your own pace. Constantly having someone nearby, watching and waiting for questions, takes away from that. If I need help, I'll ask for it. Otherwise, I prefer to browse without feeling monitored. I'm just saying!!

Two different things about this place versus other lounges we have been to, the owner accompanies you into humidor, and they have to handle cigars. Then, as most, it is BYOB to drink, but this place did not any ice, so bring your own on that as well. But, we told Ian what type of cigars we liked, and he recomended a few kinds for us. They have a large humidor with a great selection!! After smoking our two that we had purchased, we were very happy with his options for us. Clearly, not at all, because the place was packed. Either at capacity or about to go over. We secured a little standing spot at the bar and enjoyed our little brews. As we looked up at the TV, the original Leprechaun movie was playing. The staff were very friendly and moving around at the speed of light to get everyone their green dyed beers. There was over an hour wait for food due to how obviously busy a bar is on International Wear Green and Drink Beer Day, which didn't concern us because we had already eaten. For everyone else, sucks to be them. Our Guinnesses were good, and I really have no complaints. The location is quite narrow, but they make the most of it. There is a ton of beers to choose from, but I only had the Guinness because, well, celebrating a commercialization of Irish culture. I went to the bar and ordered (no wait staff at the tables). I ordered the Fish-n-Chips w/ a Pearl Snap, my date had the Biggy BBQ Mac Burger with a Dragon Fruit Daiquiri. For the positives: our drinks were very good, hard to mess up a draught beer, but it was not flat & just cold enough. She absolutely loved the daiquiri, side note- she's with me so standards aren't super high. Bar staff were super helpful and attentive, patio was very chill and secluded from the other spots surrounding it. The bathroom was clean and didn't smell like vomit. Negatives: My fish and chips were below expectations. Their grease was entirely too hot and it was flash fried causing the batter to be too crispy and the fish was piping hot. The selection of cod was not good either most of the pieces were blackened meat and the chips were crinkle cut fries, a letdown. I wasn't expecting a London level plate but it was a very sad and lonely one. Her burger was loaded with BBQ sauce and her mac-n-cheese balls were fried similarly causing the same burnt batter. It wasn't the worst meal I've had at a chain beer joint, looking at you Fox and Hound, but it wasn't close to the best. The Flying Saucer has a very good bar style fish and chips plate that costs about the same but they pay attention to the details that make it better. Overall I would not recommend and I will not be going back but in a pinch it won't make you sick.
