I started gathering quotes for our solar install back in April '21. Bright Eye was one of 6 quotes I got and, while not being the cheapest per kW, earned my business through the honest and forthright conversations I had with Josh. Josh priced out several different configurations of panels and inverters for me and we ultimately ended up going with Silfab 330's and Enphase IQ7+ microinverters. Our project got delayed a few months at no fault of BES, which ended up being a good thing as the 330's were discontinued and Silfab launched the Elite line which offers 2% better efficiency. The contract was signed in August for 30 Silfab 370's/Enphase IQ7+ for an 11.1 kW system. Working with Yvette through the contract, utility interconnection, inspections, etc. was a breeze. She was quick to respond to my emails and answered any questions I had. In September, Josh reached out offering an upgrade to Silfab 380's (I assume due to supply issues) which bumped the size up to 11.4kW and dropped the cost to a respectable $2.58/kW. Austin, the project manager, contacted me to schedule the install which began in December and took three full days. Email responses were a bit slow, but I'll chalk it up to Austin being out of office at job sites. RJ was the lead on the install team and Adam was the electrician. Both were pleasant to work with and answered any questions I had. On day one RJ let me know that the original plans to only use the upper dormer on my house wasn't going to work with the 380's and they would have to use the lower dormer above my garage. Not an issue to me, but something I thought could have been recognized before the crew was on the roof. In the end, they made it work. On the last day of install, I was told that the Enphase Envoy combiner was MIA and they wouldn't be able to finish the install until that came in. This took another week and a half come in, but they were out at the house quickly to get it up and running. Yvette and Austin got the inspections scheduled and everything passed just fine. One thing we learned was that Lebanon County actually requires scheduling of separate electrical and building inspections and they don't just schedule both at the same time. MetEd was quick to get the Net Meter installed and we had official Permission to Operate within two weeks of install completion. All in all, my experience with BES was quite good and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality local installer with a good track record and great customer service. Josh earned my business despite having a higher price than a national because his proposal was different, he was trustworthy, easy to talk to, and understood what I'm sure is an abnormal perspective enough to explain what I was missing. We worked to a solution that JUST squeezes into building code and results in a great looking and highly productive outcome. Bobby, the installation need we got, is a gem of a human and was great to talk to and he and his team did good work and were quick about it. 5 stars. But. Minor issue with inspection, that honestly is probably a bit overzealous on an inspector, led to a nearly 45-day delay in commissioning my system- that included all of July and half of August and ended up costing me somewhere near $400 in lost production while the panels sat in my roof. Now. Normally this would stop a 5-star review, BUT Bright Eye (Yvette) reached out and offered to meet me in the middle on these losses. This business practice is ever fleeting and absolutely makes a huge difference. Your customer was hurt- and even if it wasn't necessarily your fault, you work with them to resolve the issue. I recommend them and I really do think they inspection should have passed. In fact, working through my issue really highlights the strength of working with someone local and dedicated to customer service. When you look at someone like Tesla's reviews, you'll find that any time something goes wrong, you cannot reach anyone. You're installing a 25-year product on your house with continuous output and it isn't just the sunshine (get it?!) that's relevant- it's also the clouds. While you might save some money in the short-run with a national provider, your ability to get help when something goes wrong is what really determines your value in the long run. Bright Eye Solar installed solar and battery backup for my place in the Poconos this summer. Josh was very up front about our expected solar production during the initial sales process - since there are lots of trees on our property, he recommended trimming/cutting down some and cautioned us that we may not get the output we want, but our goal was more to offset and have a battery backup during (frequent) power outages. I appreciated the honesty. Jim the owner called to go over details of our battery backup system and make sure we were happy with everything. The electrician did a great job, even going so far as to use some spare paint we had to paint the conduit to match our house colors so it blended in better, and when the PwrManager install needed to cut a chunk out of our wall, Adam did his best to cover it and paint the opening so it looked nicer. Adam was also really patient with me as I watched over his shoulder for much of the install, trying to understand what was happening. As for how well it works: it's great! During the summer/fall we more than offset our electric use, and as Josh warned, in the winter with the lower sun and trees, our production is much lower but still generally enough to cover most power use during the daytime. And most importantly for us, during the several power outages (including one that lasted nearly an entire day), the system performed flawlessly: automatically switched over to battery backup so quickly that even the clocks didn't reset, and powered the entire house for the full outage. When I decided to go solar I was comparing many quotes from different companies and Bright Eye Solar was one of them. Josh Sheppard (Solar Consultant) from Bright Eye was very easy to talk to and courteous. As solar is a very expensive investment, I wanted to get the biggest bang for my buck and Josh delivered. As for the installation of the system, it took a bit longer than I expected (understandable as we're in a pandemic and due to weather complications). There was some issues with getting my system up and running smoothly (it was a learning experience for the installation team as they had just started working with the new Generac inverters), but Ben Lessig (project manager) was able to decipher the issue after communicating with Generac (kudos to you Ben) and got the system up and running. Although I was a bit frustrated at times due to the long installation period and the system not functioning properly at first (again not an issue that was caused by Bright Eye, the Generac Inverters were the issue) the company went above to optimize my system free of charge by providing five PV links. Now that my system has been operating successfully I couldn't be happier and I will be returning to the company for the installation of future Generac PWRcell batteries. The entire process of obtaining our solar system from BrightEye was wonderful. Jim and his team helped us from the get-go to let us know exactly what we were buying. Everything from the components themselves to how the system was hooked up to our home to SRECs were explained in detail upfront. Every question I had was answered. Communication from BrightEye was great throughout the process. On a daily basis during the install, the project lead updated me several times. I was told what the daily plan was, their progress, and what to expect the next day. I was also made aware of any challenges they faced and how that would impact the install timeline (I had a pole-mounted array installed in PA in the middle of January). The entire install team was very professional and respectful towards me, my family, and my property. Closing in on the 2nd anniversary of the install, I am astonished by how accurate Jim's forecasting models were when it came to power generation of the system. We used the numbers he provided in his proposal to forecast our savings in terms of our electric bill and his forecast remains within a few percentage points of the actual. I have had the system installed and running since early january and so far so good! I did a lot of research into the best types of panels and systems out there and I decided to go with brighteye due to them being local and having the best financing option as well as installing top quality equipment and providing a production guarantee. Everyone I dealt with was nice to work with and the crew did a good job installing the system. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because there were a few bumps in the road during the permit approval process and inspection process that I ended up having to step in and assist with i.e. i had to call the local permit office and figure out what the hold up was and then they told me it was actually something they were waiting for from brighteye to send them that was the hold up which i got cleared up and moving but if i hadn't made those calls who knows how much longer things would have taken. After installation I did notice one of my boards was not producing anything 50 percent of the time and David See took good care of me and we got the problem fixed quickly and are running at full speed ahead. Overall they seem like a good company but definitely a bit short handed like everyone else these days. read more

We contacted Bright Eye Solar after initially dealing with another solar company that proved to be quite unresponsive. Our Bright Eye consultant, Greg, soon reached out to us and was quickly able to set up a site visit and make suggestions about the possible placement of panels. After we received the proposal, Greg was helpful in answering our questions and adjusting the proposal to our needs. The whole process of designing the project and approving an acceptable proposal was thus very easy. It did take a bit of time to get permit approval from our municipality due mostly to the fact that changes were being made to the municipal solar energy ordinance that had an impact on our project. While this delayed the project, Bright Eye informed us periodically about the status of our permit request. Once the permit was granted, an installation date was set up and the project was completed. The installation team was professional, friendly, and informative. Our system has been up and running without a hitch for two months now. Well after I shopped around I found Bright Eye Solar and I spoke with Jim. He explained everything to me about going solar. All my questions were answered and he was also able to show me online my house and what it would look like and how much it would cost. Well the online pic did not do justice. The finished job is beutiful. The solar pannels look great from the street. They are low profile and they work great. Even during a rain storm they still produced a small amount of electric. As far as the instalation goes Jim and Cory came out measured and the estimate from online was right on. I liked what Jim had to say so we did it. His crew was great they work hard they are polite they clean everything up when they are done and the work was great. Very professional company. I would use them again and again if I could. We have our job done for 3 months now and the product Jim sold us out preforms itself. We make more electric then I thought we would. Over this very long and drawn-out process to getting solar installed (01/2023 to 06/2023), I've been pleased with the assistance and work of the folks at BrightEye Solar. They provided a competitive bid and were very easy to deal with throughout. They answered all of my questions and the fact that they are local to the area (somewhat) made it a "+" in dealing with them. Since they are familiar with this market, they were able to work through all aspects of this process without issues. They handled everything from the documentation and contracting, inspections, permits, engineering design, electrical company and township permits/paperwork and inspections for final PTO. The crew onsite was always on time and ready to work even during those Canadian wildfire smokey days of June 2023. I would definitely recommend them and will work with them again when I get ready to install battery back up next year. We really did our research for weeks, and spoke/met with four companies, before making our decision to go with Bright Eye Solar. Not only was the company honest, but their customer service was reliable and efficient. We felt more than confident in the whole process. There was very little for us to do! Bright Eye took care of paperwork, permits, everything. The installation took place more quickly than was estimated and took less time, as well. The installers did phenomenal work and we barely knew they were there! After installation, Bright Eye customer service got to work quickly to finish up our paperwork and getting our SRECs online. We found Bright Eye Solar the last time that we had some solar panels installed. They had great reviewed in the past and they were right. The process to get things started to install was informative and overall a great process. They kept in communication with me regarding the process to the day of install. The first system that we installed was back in 2019 and we had a couple of issues since then with some of the microinverters. I have to say that it was some difficulty getting a hold of someone to get it fixed, but once I was able to get a hold of someone it was fixed within the week. Similar issues with some of the microinverters again later on throughout the years, but again, once I was able get a hold of someone they came within the week to fix. While the ability to get a hold of someone is mildly difficult that wasn't enough for me to go with someone else with the addition of more panels to my house in 2022. just had more installed a month ago without problem. read more

We worked with Bright Eye Solar on the design and installation of our 45 panel 16.65 kW Generac based solar array and couldn't be happier with them. I've been in commercial construction for over 30 years, and I was pretty particular about what I wanted. Bright Eye Solar's engineers were able to cater to our needs with the design. The installation crew was great as well! Couldn't ask for a better outcome really. Additionally, by my calculations I figured we'd cover roughly 80% of our usage of our 6,200sf 2-family home but to my surprise, we've been covering 100% AND only using 44% of what we generate! That alone will allow us to bank energy at our electric power company for cloudy days when we're not generating enough for our usage and will save us from having to use our 18 kW battery back-up which will save on its warranty/# of cycles! When looking into the cost savings that solar energy would provide to us we realized it was silly not to make the investment. After researching, interviewing, and price/product comparing over 15 different solar companies, we decided to go with Bright Eye about a year and a half ago. Jim, the owner, worked directly with us to develop optimize, and customize a plan that worked for us. The company delivered on their promises and products. We had one minor issue with the system's connection (did not affect production) and the tech team notified us immediately and the issue was quickly and easily resolved. Had a good experience with Bright Eye Solar for our 19.6 kW system. Was impressed with Bright Eye's work in our neighborhood and our design phase went smoothly and was a no pressure process. We explored various sizing, panel and location options that made sense for us. Due to supply chain constraints, we went with slightly pricier Solaria panels and they look and perform great! The installation team kept us informed and ensured everything was how we wanted it to look. Communication overall was pretty standard for solar installations which generally involves longish periods of hearing very little while waiting for various checkpoints to clear (permits, panel orders, inspections, etc.). Though communication was prompt every time we reached out for updates or questions. Would go with them again if/when we ever need to add more! read more

We purchased a complete solar generation system from Bright Eye in 2016. Since startup we have generated over 30 MW of electricity. The first impression of Bright Eye was the personal involvement of Jim Noden (CEO) and the fact that we were not dealing with big business America or China. Jim actually got on our roof with instruments to provide an estimate of expected power generation. The installation process was quick and efficient with perfect workmanship by two friendly installers. During hurricane IDA we had a roof leak into a finished room. Since our roof was only 5 years old we decided to call Bright Eye to investigate. Jim and an installer were here in the next morning and found and corrected a problem that had nothing to do with the solar panels. That's what we call SERVICE.
