I'm writing this as a former P.A, I worked here for maybe three weeks over the summer. This camp is…read morethe biggest waste of time I have ever laid my eyes upon. The kitchen smells of rotten food, the higher-ups are incapable of empathy or sympathy of any kind. The biggest offender of this I will NOT mention by name, thought it is the head of the camp. In my short time of employment at the camp, I have only seen him around three times. Otherwise, he will be sitting in his office and eating food brought up by P.As. Camp counselors (not to be confused with Program Assistants (P.As)) are also incredibly rude and entitled. A handful of them will wild out at the kids who are misbehaving for some reason. Just kidding! The reason is because they are children. I was unfortunate enough to see this in person and it was fairly jarring to see a young adult scream at an eight year old in such a vicious and inappropriate manner. As a P.A it was my job to handle food, and also work as human wall. During our many beach trips every one or two day(s) P.As (who are still mostly teenagers) would line up on a beach, and clean it up for the children. This in an of itself would not be an issue if it were not for the fact that the P.As would be forced to line up on each side of a small portion of the beach and stand in the hot sun for hours at a time. No joke. You would only be allowed to move if you were to get water. Of course, phone usage was reasonably prohibited. I was lucky enough to be exempt, but after my termination I find it unnecessary to sing any praises of this downright horrendous excuse of a job. I would constantly hear my co-workers complaining about how they've burnt or just overheated. If you are unfortunate enough to fall hook line and sinker into this job via SYEP or any other means, please be prepared just in case for the following of which I have endured. Horrible management, poor excuses of busy work, your bosses will treat you like children, your 'co-workers' (counselors, not all) will call you slurs behind your back and insult you for not bringing them their food in time (as if they are incapable of getting it themselves), and a whole lot of standing around and doing nothing except baking in the sun, or being chewed out. I was fired without warning, only mere days after being told how good of a worker I am. The big boss decided to terminate me because I ate a piece of watermelon from a tray (with a fork, with a hairnet, with gloves) and said it was a "HEALTH CONCERN" and that his "hands were tied". Reportedly, I had been told by my co-workers that this was not allowed, and that this would surely be reprimanded. However, I have zero recollection of ever having an event like this, and even if I did in my humble opinion I believe that executive warning should be stated before termination. This was not the case. Oh, and the boss used rather unsavory and vulgar language to describe my heinous crime. He used words such as "dirty mouth" to describe me. I was frankly taken aback that this would be the final nail in the coffin for me. Or should I say FIRST and final, as I had never been reprimanded in my entire time working here up to this point. If you are to work here, please know that nothing is off the table for management.

We didn't plan on coming here but my parents in-law happen to live near- by, just stumbled and discovered this wonderful day care establishment. Thought we gave it a try, instantly felt "this-is-it". My other in-laws in Long Island are madly envious (lack of better term) that this day care would out-compete the rest of where their kids have been or currently are in. To me, that speaks volume and at least a good gauge to know our decision made was a right one (that don't happen often either lol). We're staying in Brooklyn cuz' of Wiz Kids!! The owner, teachers and staff are efficient, kind-hearted and all around helpful. The piece of mind and reassurance are truly paramount to any parents especially with new ones such as my wife & I. Thank you to Laura and her amazing team... Sincerely, Kevin

Funny how these 5 star reviews appeared after the TRUTH was posted. I guess yesterday was the day…read morethe owner decided to show up and started making the employees post fake reviews. Maybe she threatened to take their vacation time without prior notice, AGAIN!!! It's also very curious how they have an employee who's only been there for about a month, post a review saying how wonderful the job is. I only mention this due to the fact that she is the least competent person there and yet writes as if she has been there for so long and knows all the ins and outs. Question for you if you happen to read this, weren't you the one who was in charge of receiving diapers for a child who had ran out, did not give the diapers to appropriate teacher and caused the child to go without being changed? I would call that being right out incompetent but that is just my opinion. But since Jennifer Jean-Baptiste likes to play favorites and only targets certain employees, nothing was done or said against this employee for their incompetence. Lastly, it is very curious how these "reviews" sound so similar in their description of this horrible place. Almost as if it were scripted or all written at the same time. Maybe they ran out of ideas and just started copying each other, who knows. Instead of making your staff post reviews, maybe you should take a moment to reflect on the toxicity of this work environment. Money-hungry owner, dishonest and coward director, and two-faced employees (not all). DO BETTER! And once again, beware to the parents and people looking for a job here.
