It was a big transition for him to go from childcare at home to a preschool environment. As the weeks and months passed, I saw him blossom as he became more outgoing, made friends and found his own special place in the classroom. We continued at PoTA for the 3s program, which he absolutely loved. The teachers are incredible, there's simply no comparison. Every day he comes home to tell me about his day in great detail and cannot wait to return in the morning. The level of creativity and warmth makes this community so incredibly special, and that comes from the director, Rachel, and her team of teachers. They make every child feel like they are the focus. I am confident my son is moving into Pre-K beyond well-equipped thanks to this special place.

Our son has been in class with the same group of friends since he started and has created incredible and valuable bonds that will serve him for the rest of his life. He has an understanding of what friendship is, and understands care and solidarity as much as fun and play - all while learning so much thanks to an art-based creative curriculum and the outstanding job of all the teachers and the school director, Renee. I have worked in higher education all my life, and, I am being entirely honest, there is a lot we can learn from how young children are educated. I would like to add that the school is also very diverse, and there is a wonderful parent network.

The Goddard School has a great curriculum that is both challenging and fun. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about early education, and they are always working to find new and innovative ways to engage the students. The Goddard School also has a wonderful social environment. The children are encouraged to be friendly and helpful to one another, and they learn how to resolve conflicts in a healthy way. This is such an important skill, and the Goddard School does an excellent job of teaching it. Overall, we have been extremely happy with The Goddard School in New York. It's the best daycare in Tribeca, and we joined after leaving another which was just fine but not great. Our older daughter started at Trinity/Vivvi in 2018 and now our younger daughter is there in the infants class. The teachers and administrators are the most considerate and thoughtful, and the facility is laid out for a child-led, montessori type experience. The best thing about Vivvi/Trinity is that there's a healthy balance between focusing on the needs of working parents and centering a rich, engaging experience for the kids. For your child, you want a clear lesson plan with good structure and lots of play, and as a parent, you want flexible hours and good communication. Other daycares in the neighborhood have more one or the other, but here you get both. This isn't to say that there are little hiccups; there are little things everywhere. But our teachers run their own classrooms and have things like the health insurance that are not common in other early child education. You can feel the difference. Our ladies have been happy going to school and coming home every day, and if they are happy, we're happy. Thank you Leigh, Ben, and all our teachers!

Initially, kids inevitably get sick often - just be ready for it - it's either now or Pre-K. But we found it worked for us because we didn't have the space w remote working to have a nanny or bandwidth to be a one person HR. The administration and teachers have been great. We've all seen that nanny in the park on her phone - you don't have to worry about that here. Everything is structured, held to a high legal standard, monitored and the centre is clean. BH provided diverse stimulation (art, reading, different developmental activities, etc), structure and outdoor time weather permitting - we follow the same schedule at home. Every day you get a detailed journal of every diaper change, nap and meal / snack and tons of videos and pics. AM/PM snacks are provided. A lot of the staff have or are working on education degrees too. Have seen my little one develop intellectually and physically in leaps and bounds - his palette has also expanded being able to take advantage of the Little Green Gourmet meal delivery service, and eat w a group of little ones. He is always excited to go to school, and it's so sweet to see him and his buddies excitedly run into each other at the playground. BH is now on the universal pre-K program, and an enrolled child can get priority for enrollment which is huge. A big thanks to Ms Kim and Miriam for running the centre, Ms Christine, Tia, Kia and Stef for the toddler rooms and Ms Sam, Evelyn, Jasmine and Danelvi the infant rooms.

We were so excited about this school - it's beautiful, we love the philosophy, they have great exmissions, they said they took the children to play in the park nearby. And our first year in a toddler room was magical. The teacher was a phenomenal resource, our son grew and made some terrific friends, and we were excited for him to go to primary. Well, primary was a disaster. He had a young and inexperienced teacher who meant well, but telegraphed her disapproval of our high-spirited, high-energy, emotionally still very young kid so that our formerly school-loving child started melting down at every dropoff. An administration that wouldn't accommodate a request for change to a classroom where he had good friends, and seemed ill-equipped (or ill-inclined) to help him in general. When he needed extra physical movement, they had him walk in a circle along a piece of tape stuck to the floor. Carrying a cotton ball on a spoon. Which, as you've probably noticed, is not playing in the nearby park. No one said anything nice about our son to us at all until we informed them of our decision to leave. We went back to an AMS lab Montessori school in a different state, and the contrast is extreme. Teachers with decades of experience, lots of communication and support, lots of ability to respond to the needs of individual children who mature at different rates in different areas. The entire administration of the new school knows his name and says hello to him in the halls. Outdoor playground time every single day. And, it must be said, it's half the price. You might have an excellent experience at Flatiron. I hope you do. I wish we had.

The administration/ownership is bad. Aloof is probably too generous an adjective. It's Trumpian in the sense that it seems centered on what furthers their own idiosyncratic goals (eg prestige, donations, growth); which might not be the same as yours or your child's. In the end (if you can manage the tuition, and don't need any favors from the administration) it's a wonderful place.

My son started to go to this school at the age of 2.5 years. When we were researching schools, it was important for me that he is in a safe environment where he can learn and grow. Early childhood learning is undoubtedly an important foundation that Montessori International NYC excels at; they truly have exceeded my expectations. Academics The school invests their time and energy into the kid's learning which is exactly what you want in a school. The school started giving my son workbooks/homework in reading and math. He has excelled so much in the past few years and is now at a 1st/2nd grade level in reading/writing/math and he is just a few weeks shy of being 5 years old. His writing, reading, and math skills have grown so much! I now have a second child who goes to the school. She is 2.5 years old now. I have already seen a difference. She is singing songs and her ABC's, speaking full sentences, very social, and knows how to play by herself and with others. The Montessori method allows students to learn and advance at their own pace. They truly have made a huge difference and I am so happy for all that they invested in their learning. Activities The kids get to do so many activities. They go on field trips to the Central Park Zoo, Botanic Gardens, and Museums. They have activities and events throughout the year. They celebrate diversity throughout the year, the kids are learning about various countries and even get a taste of various cuisines. They have "Asia" day where they pick a country in Asia and present a poster about the culture and dress, etc. They have "India" day and were even given Indian food to taste for lunch. They also learn about other countries including countries in Africa and Europe. They are well rounded and have made a strong effort to introduce the kids to a wide variety of cultures which holds true to their name as Montessori School International. They are very active in the school with art projects and coloring. They have science fairs (and yes even for the little ones) which I think is amazing since it teaches them how to stand up in front of the classroom and present. They have spelling bees and an annual "Montessorics" where they have friendly competitions in physical sports i.e. running etc. They go on walks when the weather permits and learn about their surroundings. I also like that they have a dress code so the kids are well dressed and dressed for success. They have white and blue Montessori International shirts that they wear on outings or gym day (once every week). They have their own Montessori jackets and sweaters. They offer additional extracurricular classes both during the school year and summer school, when age appropriate and child-ready, which can vary but include swimming, tennis, martial arts, gymnastics, and chess. The field trips and classes may begin at various ages but the school works on getting the kids prepared to begin going on field trips when they are ready (level of independence, comfort with going on and off the bus, ability to listen to instruction, etc). Teachers/administration The teachers are one of a kind! They really give them their all, working long hours, working hard, and dedicating their time and resources for the children. As a note, this is not a daycare in which teachers are snapping photos all day and updating you on what they ate as some schools may do. Instead, they use the school time actually devoting their attention to the class. They do offer progress reports twice a year, and occasional photos from presentations and events. More importantly, I can call in or email them and always get a prompt response. They answer all my questions and are absolutely helpful. They are truly a gem in the city. Summary The school has been absolutely wonderful!! I genuinely have so much to say about the school. They also have summer camp which is incredible. The kids have a great time. My family and I are relocating in the summer so that is the only reason why we will have to leave the school and quite frankly has been heavy on my heart because we really have created such wonderful memories with the school and their faculty/staff. They have been absolutely exceptional and I will miss them so much! I feel so happy that we have our kids at this school. When I was searching other schools, there is really nothing that even comes close. Most notably, I have yet to find any school that provides workbooks/homework for kids at this level. I personally have appreciated all their hard work, strong work ethic, investment into the kids' growth, and all the encouragement they provide! I highly recommend!!!
