Great teachers, great curriculum. Very family oriented! They take care of our children as if they were there own!

I am a new employee as an Infant teacher, for a few weeks now, I relocated from a another TLE…read moreCenter, where i was also an infant teacher and I have to say the management in the Cedar Grove location is so amazing!!!! what a difference management makes!!!!!!!! they are on point with everything very well organized they have everything running accordingly!!!!They have knowledge, but most of all they have heart.!!!!! It's so refreshing to work with a team that's knowledgeable, supportive, kind, and compassionate.!!!!! Lead leaders..... to make a good team you have to lead by example, I give major kudos to shelley, Danielle and cardine for their work ethic and for making my decision of relocating so much better!!! if you are looking for a daycare, that's very well put together and want to feel safe about having your child go there..... they are going to experience an abundance of love support and compassion. I have met and witnessed other teachers in other classrooms and the way they handle their classroom and the way they are with the children all I could see is love, admiration and compassion!!!! but most of all PATIENCE which is what children need...... This is truly the canter to bring your kids if you live in the Cedar Grove or nearby towns, you will not regret it...I am a mom of two sons who are adults now I've worked in a pediatric office. I've worked in labor and delivery. I'm also a birth doula and I have to say out of all these places I've worked in with management and coworkers this by far......beats it allllllll...,,there's so much love here ..,,, something that they need....you gotta remember parents have to work so I am sure that while they're at work they want to hope and know that their children are giving the love and compassion and support and helping them with their milestones..... and REMEMBER these children are a reflection of us, so us teachers will be raising leaders here...... because what we would want for our own we would want for others...... many people have told me if I say something it's gotta hold truth... I never did have to back up my words because actions always spoke the truth. The Learning experience in Cedar Grove I am telling you....,,. YOU will not be disappointed....... and plus they'll have me as an infant if they are at that age. if you don't take my words, just experience it...

My son attended First Steps since the age of 1, during that time the children were always active,…read moredoing activities and crafts for special holidays, etc (this can be viewed on the Facebook Page). When the new owner Carmen took over there were promises of a more lively pre-school with even more learning activities and experienced teachers. IT NEVER HAPPENED. The school has dramatically DECLINED. There isn't a steady flow of consistent teachers, the owner Carmen is always overwhelmed (because she's too cheap to hire any real help). This school contributes to hindering the cognitive and language development of children. how? The 2 year olds still eat in high chairs, they are spoon fed by the workers, toddlers still nap on the floor in stead of on cots, toddlers are not encouraged to drink out of regular plastic cups, toddlers are not encouraged to become potty trained. Carmen the owner thinks that the children are "too young" to do problem solving. And learning activities that encourage them to think on their own. My son has been at a new Academy for a week now, I see such differences in the way that my child is taught. If you're just looking for a drop-off spot for your child, First Steps is for you. The woman in the infant room Maria is excellent! If you really care about your child's development go ELSEWHERE.

Not quite sure how they keep this business going with just 5 kids in pre K, save yourself some money and put your kids in better hands. Also the director seemed to have a preference on children.
