Overall, a positive experience. The mountain views were breathtaking and my horse (Spirit) was a…read moregreat trail horse. She handled my 6'3" and 240 lbs with ease and listened to my every command. The process for mounting the horses and the extreme disorganization at the end of the ride were much less enjoyable. After being placed on your horse, you are left while others are mounting theirs for the ride. We waited at least 10 minutes on anxious horses that weren't happy standing around. They walked us into tree branches a few times. When we returned from the ride, the lack of staff to assist was even more apparent. Two staff members to assist 12-14 riders and horses is not sufficient. My girlfriend's horse led her through 3 prickly trees. My horse went to the watering trough and was almost bitten by another horse. This caused my horse rear back, sprint a few steps forward and start to buck. I haven't been on a horse in over 30 years, so I feel very fortunate that I was able to get her to calm down and not toss me. These issues could all be alleviated by adding 2 additional staff members. $45 for an hour trail ride seems like a fair price, but at that price you should also have enough staff on hand to handle paying customers and ensuring a pleasant and safe experience.

I was in this shop a few years ago and didn't review because I thought whatever, but having been in…read moreso many bike shops I was recently reminded of how shitty the employees here were. My wife and I were on a mtb trip in the east coast, and when I asked the guy working there about some local trails he was a total a$$ hole and told me all the trails I was asking about were not real and couldn't give me any recommendations. It stuck with me, he wasn't pleasant, he didn't care to guide me to a dope trail, he just wanted to act like he was the local badass gatekeeper of the terrible trails they have in the area. Thank goodness I'm back in Colorado and would never ever go back to this shop with the attitude and lack of customer service this douche gave my wife and I.

If you are looking for a great way to spend the day, Chipshots Foot Golf will not disappoint you…read more It's just a short drive from Canaan Valley resort and is situated on a beautiful piece of property. The course is well maintained and was actually pretty challenging. Playing with 3 high school athletes made it even more challenging, so if you haven't kicked a soccer ball in a while, choose your opponents wisely. Tim was a gracious host and even provided spring water for us at the turn-around before we played "the back nine". Unlike traditional golf, it doesn't take half a day to play 18 holes and it's not a bad way to get some exercise (there are no golf carts in foot golf). The best part is all you need is a soccer ball AND they provide them for their guests. If you haven't played before, it takes some time to get used to the strategy of how to play; like putting, kicking out of the high rough, etc... Foot Golf is a great activity for birthday parties, family reunions or even team building. If you are in the area and want to try something out of the ordinary, I highly recommend it.

The guy told me he would refund us that day and then dodged my follow up calls, texts and emails. We called from a different area code and he answered. We asked what would happen if we made a reservation and it got cancelled due to bad weather. He said they would issue a refund in that case. So we said that's what happened to us the previous weekend and we're following up on that refund. He said he would refund us but had to talk to his wife because he didn't know how.
