The top floor has all the books that you'd expect to find in a library, whereas the bottom floor houses more activities and performance areas. The books on the top floor are all arranged by topic, so historical books are in one area, young adult in another, etc. Makes it really easy to find what you're looking for! There are plenty of study spaces and cozy corners to curl up with a book or laptop. I love how it's spaced out enough without making you feel too isolated from your fellow library visitors. Just be aware that there aren't a ton of outlets, but there are charging stations located throughout the facility, each with a variety of different chargers for phones and computers. Makes you feel pretty well taken care of! I absolutely loved visiting this library and I hope to come back again soon!

So welcoming, engaging, and filled with excellent reading options for all ages. The playroom and classroom space have reopened and many classes take place in the evenings for kids. The building is beautiful, and every time I visit I notice something new. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and willing to help, which makes the library feel comfortable and inviting. What I appreciate most is that there are so many activities and events that are free or very low cost. There are plenty of programs for teens, families, and adults, and everyone is welcome. It's definitely worth the drive from the suburbs if you're looking for a unique place to spend a few hours. Between the architecture, the helpful staff, and all the community events, it's one of the coolest libraries I've visited. I wish I would have known about this place when my boys were little, it would be a great stop after visiting the museum.

I could spend all day just in that section. You can look at (and check out) all sorts of things from musical scores, concert programs, newspaper clippings and more. They even have instruments you can check out! I don't think there is any other library in the area that offers this sort of department. There is something for everyone here (and then some!). I've been here with my kids when they were babies and have taken them here for a variety of programs or even just to stop in when we are in the area. There are plenty of places to relax and enjoy your book (including a cafe) but lots of quiet nooks and seating areas as well. There is no parking lot specific to the library, but there is a ton of metered parking in the area. I highly recommend visiting this library, especially if you are looking for something unique. Or even just to enjoy some quiet time in a beautiful space.

They have passes (mostly family) for a lot of local museums and historical sites. The parking lot is massive and somewhat recently paved. The hours are friendly to most schedules and the drop box is always available for returns when they're closed.

All of the experiences have been wonderful. The library portion is fantastic. A large kids section with friendly and helpful librarians, a great area (with a fireplace!) to relax, computers and an overall great selection of books. The music hall portion is wonderful as well. Seats are pretty comfortable with a decent amount of room and you can see well from basically anywhere in there. The backstage area has two large dressing rooms with lighted mirrors. The only downside is that there is fairly limited parking, so if you are attending an event, you need to get there early enough to grab a spot or hope for nearby street parking.

I definitely come here for their DVD selection. In terms of their books, I've always been able to find what I'm looking for. They have audio books available and various programs throughout the year. They also have an afternoon and evening book club. It's great in that the book selections are always diverse and they also provide you with a book to read if you don't already own it. I really like that part - b/c although I LOVE reading books, I'm not a fan of buying them b/c unless they become one of my favorites, I only read it once and then it sits around my room collecting dust and sadness. They have a great space and I think it's laid out pretty well. There are computers set up downstairs and upstairs for searches if you need to know where to look for materials. They also have an online systems that you can place "holds" on books, cds, and DVDs - it's like an Amazon.com but for FREE. Do you notice a reoccurring theme with me and FREE - I love Libraries!

They are all really professional and they are very smart and savvy. Everyone of those librarians are good at looking for books and they know what type of books to look for. Katie had a really nice computer class and she demonstrated her skills of knowledge about resumes to my resume and we both worked on it together editing it. Rob is very good at the computer. He should be in IT; he is so amazing! If I don't know my password, he gets me on the computer so fast that I don't even realize that he got me on it so quickly with a blink of an eye. The secretaries are hard workers and they dress professional and so do the librarians. I still have my flash drive and wear it as a bracelet. They also have an art gallery in the children's museum and I donated my paintings there and I felt really good about that and people bought it really quickly and that was really flattering. By the way, they have one on one computer classes so just in case you don't know much about the computer, the librarians are there to help.
