What a great family hike! Toddlers? No problem. Babies? No problem. Drive as far up the road as you…read morecan go and park at either the upper or lower parking lot. We went in late July and were so enthralled with the scenery the whole way to the spring. It is vastly green, with plenty of wildflowers along the trail. Stop and see some raspberries, and even some wildlife hanging out in the water (there was a mama and baby moose there along our hike!) The River coming down from the spring is absolutely gorgeous, but of course, fast and freezing, so even though it goes without saying, don't let your little ones get too close. Although there are plenty of spots for adults to stop and dip in their toes or hands for a quick cool off. Once you walk to the top of the trail and the base of the spring, (about a mile walk) the hike gets much steeper and more difficult. I actually didn't know we were going on this hike so I wore sandals up the trail with no problem, but I wouldn't recommend it for hiking to the top, there are steep rocks and slippery slopes of dirt that require shoes with good traction. The top of the spring is such a delight! With a fantastic view cascading down the mountain, you can see the intermittent spring turning on and off every 12-18 minutes. It honestly feel like magic! Once we got to the top of the spring I felt like my kids were safe there. We all had a great time playing on the rocks and filling our water bottles with cool fresh spring water! Right before the steep trail at the top are picnic tables for those travelers wanting to take it easy. There are also some picnic tables at the parking lots. I would absolutely recommend this hike in star valley with or without kids, for older people, or even those who want to take it easy with a little extra exercise. July was around 80° and not too hot. I'm sure it'd be a great one to hike in the fall as well!

So this is what I hear. A little research later on reveals that this is one of only a couple places in the world with a cold water, intermittent spring. Well this I gotta see!! Getting to the spring in late July is beautiful. All sunshine, bubbly creek, flowers and butterflies. A five mile drive and a mile or so hike and you're there. But it turns out this intermittent thing has a seasonality to it and we're just a touch early. Well that's OK. It's a beautiful area, lovely day.... Hey, what is that? There's some big thing covering part of the creek and it's got branches and other debris on top. Wait... that's snow... in July. That's a bridge of snow that crosses the creek. And on the uphill side it's at least 30 feet tall!!!! Unreal!! This spring is located in a steep sided canyon that rarely gets any sun. The snow that falls here apparently slides down the walls and accumulates at a pinch point. It compresses and becomes more like ice than snow. Dust and tree debris cover the top insulating it and slowing melting from the top. And voila.... ice bridge!! The path to the head of the spring leads on top of this bridge so on the way up and down you can pelt all your friends with snowballs, ....in July. Got to climb further up the canyon and got some pretty interesting photos. The spring water was delicious and the chance to hang out with the fam and enjoy this beautifulI canyon was awesome. Wish we'd been able to see the spring do it's thing but the chance to see this ginormous ice bridge made up for any dissatisfaction.

I adore a scenic small town! We drove east from Rexburg and strolled around the historic downtown…read morearea and the falls park. It was a perfect day to play tourist. The temperature was in the 70s and it drizzled. We were able to walk around the area at our leisure. It wasn't crowded and parking was no problem either. Several people were on their lunch break either eating or stretching their legs along the paths. I've never been to a park that has so many art sculptures throughout. They were all animals either as groups or solo and they were lovely. I took a lot of pictures of the sculptures. The sound of the falls from everywhere was so relaxing and peaceful. We strolled from one side to the other and spent a couple of hours just enjoying the scenery. I love days like that!

The best walk is between Broadway St. and Route 20. The falls are in that section as is an island…read morewith an interesting story about a man who built a cabin there and lived there for many years. On the west side, you get great views of a waterfall that is part man-made, part natural that only drops maybe 12 feet or so, but goes on for 100 yards or more over many rocky areas. Many people focus on the part on the west side just north of Broadway up to views of the temple (1/2 mile one way). If you do the loop that I said is the best walk - going on both sides - it is 2.3 miles total. It is all asphalt. There are rest rooms along the way. There are a number of places to sit. There are scooters for rent as well.

Three negatives within the first 30 minutes of the trip. Will update if there's positive changes,…read moreif this review is not updated, the experience did not get better. For $600-850 a snow mobile, this outfit is greatly missing customer etiquette. We were told to be ready at 6am sharp. We wanted to confirm which side of the hotel pickup was, however neither the 1800 or 307 numbers work. We called repeatedly, text the 307 number, and had no idea if we'd been scammed until the coach showed up at 6:28. Showing up late with no working phone number was shocking for an outfit that demands logistics and communication at 6am. Once the coach showed up, I asked Jeff (guide) if there's any coffee since it's a 1+ hour ride to Yellowstone and coffee shops were not open. Scenic Safari's response? "You can die for an hour in the back." A bit rude, I ignored it. For comparison, the hotel shuttle that runs FOR FREEE has coffee and hot chocolate prepped in the van. No coffee on a $600-800 per person is one thing, but "You can die for an hour in the back," has ZERO customer etiquette. We get in the coach and the man has the lights on full blast over our heads. When asked to dim them since it's pitch black outside and the contrast painful to anyone with migraines, Jeff makes the remark "lights are going off because there's someone sensitive in the back." Zero basic customer etiquette. Just turn the light off. Everyone heard the request. Three strikes before the fist 30 minutes of the trip with 8 hours to go.

Whatever you do be sure you don't get Anthony! I don't know why this business still employs him. He was gruff and generally had a nasty attitude. He really distracted from the experience.
