I really think they should consider changing the name because this doesn't feel like a thrift store. I love the variety of items they carry, and the employees have always been friendly, and welcoming. They have an impressive selection of clothing, shoes, glassware, collectibles, furniture, and vintage treasures, and it's always interesting to browse. That said, the prices are much higher than what most people expect from a thrift store. Traditionally, thrift stores exist to provide affordable clothing and household items while supporting the community, especially during times when many families are trying to stretch their budgets. Unfortunately, many of the prices here feel much closer to what you'd find in an antique or resale shop. I would honestly suggest renaming it to something like "Bridge Resale Store" because I think that would better reflect what customers can expect. It's still a great place to shop if you're looking for unique or vintage items, but if you're expecting traditional thrift store pricing, you may leave disappointed. I enjoy visiting and appreciate the staff and the quality of the merchandise--I just wish the pricing better matched the mission and expectations that come with the word "thrift." read more

I liked that they had a refrigerator with free food and a pantry with free food. There was a good amount of items. I was able to find some school pants for my kids and a ball. Prices. We're okay. Have recently become a fan of thrift shops and estate sales, and so glad I checked out this gem of a thrift shop on Eagle Rock Boulevard... 4 stars!!! Compared to other thrift shops I've been to, this store is on the bigger end, with a good variety of housewares, home decor, books, toys, jewelry, cds, records, clothing, etc. The store is also pretty clean and well organized. Moreover, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Finding a parking space can be a little challenging, however, since there is only street parking available at the front of the store on Eagle Rock Boulevard. A little walk can very well prove worthwhile. Why buy brand new when there are always used treasures waiting for a new home! read more

I've been going to this thrift store for many years & watched as it changed with different ownership & such. I like that the layout now utilizes that little room off to the side that used to be an employee area for sorting. They need more carts, I only saw two unless they had more hiding in the back somewhere. But they also need to make enough space for the carts to fit through the aisles, this is particularly tricky in parts of the far back room where the kid's items are. My biggest complaint is the ridiculously high prices. I know this is Los Angeles, but we shouldn't be paying MORE for a used item at the thrift store than we would for the item being new down the street at Target. This has legit happened where I've noticed items priced higher than they were when I literally saw them at Target. They also price items high that have holes & stains. When I was there with a friend it was a running joke between us where we'd show each other a clothing item with stains & we'd say guess how much? Then we'd always guess lower than the actual price because the actual price seemed absurd. Please be reasonable. Y'all are wild with some of these prices. Some examples from last week: $19.99 for a very thin material Forever 21 used jumpsuit with fading on the fabric & heavy wear on the rear. $8.99 for a used graphic tee with piling, pit stains, & makeup on the neck. $8.99 for a used tank top. $9.99 for used pajama pants that I saw at Target new for $8.99. $16.99 for used Madewell jeans with broken belt loops. $19.99 for an 80's sweatshirt, they really capitalize on us vintage lovers, but seriously guys? It's a used 80's sweatshirt with piling & stains. My second biggest complaint is the absolutely asinine way they hang pants on their sides from the hanger clips. This not only makes a dent on the side of the pants from gravity holding them up, but it also doesn't allow you to see how the pants hang & would drape on the body. It's absurd. Just hang them from the waist, for the love of God. Also, they need to lower the height of the highest racks, particularly along the right side wall, and the center rack when you first walk in. My arms hurt after sifting through the clothes because they were so high up, I couldn't even see some of the tags unless I grabbed the whole hanger down from the rack to get a better look. I am 5 foot 4.5 inches for reference. They also need to face the shoes on top of the racks outward toward the shoppers. Currently, they all face away, so you're looking at the back of each pair of shoes. Since they are high up you have to grab them to get a better look, which means you have to touch every pair of shoes to turn them around to see what they actually look like, which is kinda gross. Just face them outward please. The staff is very friendly, & despite the absolutely absurd pricing for used items, I do almost always find some gems. Hence the three stars. And I appreciate that they have a little side parking lot & street parking in front of the store & on the street behind it. I also appreciate that the clothing is organized by size, unlike Out of the Closet that just has us sift throw every dang item based on category & not size. Overall, I go because I love the hunt. read more

Bridge Thrift is one of thrift stores that pride itself on sourcing higher quality used inventory. This is one of three locations in Southern California (flagship shop in San Diego, Glassell Park, and Highland Park). Unlike other thrift stores, Bridge Thrift is a for-profit organization because nonprofits are not required providing their employees with parental leave and healthcare. As a for-profit organization, Bridge Thrift will not be able to provide tax-deductible receipts. [Parking - 2-Star]: This Glassell Park location has a small but limited parking lot right next to the store. If all spots are taken in the private lot, then good luck on finding street parking spots because I couldn't find any of them at all. [Size & selection - 4-star]: Good size with plenty of different options. Not too many to choose from for men clothing, but plenty of options on women clothing, random household/electronic items, few furniture, toys, jewelry, etc. [Organization - 4-star]: Pretty organized and it wasn't difficult to navigate the thrift store. [Price - 3-star]: Hit-and-miss on prices as they seek to price items at the right value to honor the investment of their donors. [Service - 5-star]: Friendly service - we accidentally broke one of the light bulbs and the staff was able to clean up glass shards and didn't ask us to pay for the whole set of light bulbs. Been to the one on Gasell Park several times. They a lot of good merchandise take your time and look through you could find good stuff.

Today I dropped off a big bag for a donation. Red haired lady at register area standing w other gentleman employee . She was not with a customer when I said hello. I have a big bad for a donation for the store. She turned and gave me the dirtiest look. Her response was rude and uncalled for overall is my point. Super uncalled for. I didnt respond to her rudeness as I need to leave. Just thought wow store I go to regularly and shop and donate stuff all the time. She needs to not be so rude with customers . Especially a store that helps thr community . Super unnecessary keep her in the back away from customer service I think better. read more

This store receives tons of good quality inventory via donations & used to be slightly pricier than other thrift stores. However recently have been pricing astronomically higher than they used to Check other reviews but make sure to sort by most recent. Everyone who has taken the time to leave one is sharing the same message: Bridge Thrift is overpricing inventory that they receive for free via donations I'm no longer inclined to shop here as they are no better than your local Goodwill read more

I made a donation here the other day because the goodwills in my area one had a big pile of donations and one was closed. I didn't want to go too far but found this store. M'Lisa helped me out with taking my donations and Eileen was very patient and informative with any questions I had. I loved how organized and clean the store was. I remember when it was L.A. Road, I really loved it then, but Bridge Thrift is also good. What I love is this is a private neighborhood store, small business. I don't mind that it's for-profit, if it means I can donate/recycle without the fuss that I've experienced at Goodwill. The people are friendly, the clothing and items are neat and organized, it was a pleasant shopping experience. I know the prices are not as cheap as Goodwill, but even they have been overpricing. So far, I have not found anything that was offensively overpriced. The selection is great, stuff is in good condition, lots of decent brands. If you know your brands, as far as clothing goes, you will see some amazing deals. I literally found a shirt that retails for 3 figures, for $7.99. I could browse there all day to be honest! read more

It's whatever I say is good! I am in charge of my life! Even if Linda doesn't apprecite the nostalgic value of knick knacks - my life is worth more to me than to her. (I know because I often trick her into revealing how unfortunate I am to give my life to Linda and her ways. She doesn't even like animals. WHO DOESN't likeANIMALS BESIDES WEIRD HIGH SCHOOL BULLIES). This was my first time here and I was disappointed that they didn't have any color sales/discounts like other thrift stores do. The selection of children's books is the best I've ever seen at a thrift store. Found so many good children's books in excellent condition for $2.99 Looked at the women's clothes and found a used Anthropologie dress for $31.99 and a damaged Free People Dress for $14.99. There were some lululemon shorts in good condition for $14.99 but I passed on all the clothes since they were much higher than I'm used to paying at other thrift stores. read more

Was visiting LA with a friend and we wanted to do some thrifting, but didn't have any place in mind. This location popped up when I did a quick search for thrift stores in the area and we were very glad we stumbled upon it! The store layout was great: * clothes were categorized by men/women and broken down by size AND color * shoes and certain household items were on top of the aisles * few rows for other household/kitchen items * back area for dresses and children clothes/items * small back room for furniture * display case with silent auction items Items were priced well, there was a ton of variety, and both employees were friendly! My friend bought a cardigan/wrap and a camping cushion and I got 2 cardigans. Both of us spent around $20 and left feeling successful! LA Road was awesome- now Bridge Thrift, a "for profit" chain has taken over. Their discount policy is now "no sales, no punch card, no nothing" because they want their profits to go "to the community ", while being vague about how those funds are actually used. Because they're for profit, there's no transparency. Prices are highish, merchandise is a little trendier than usual. They do curate more than most thrifts. I might go back again but there are better thrift shops with actual tag sales and clearer missions around. read more

I used to LOVE this thrift store, but they've started charging A LOT more for items. For example, there was a beat up Magic Johnson framed mini poster that was going for $12 on EBay, yet they were charging $30 and the frame was broken/warped. I will say I found some great gems here over the years. Reformation dresses, higher end brands every now and then, but last three times I've come the selection has been sparse. Probably wont go out of my way for this thrift store again :/ read more
