Truly blown away by how talented Sarah and Coleen are!!! Everyone looked SO good, and my mom and my mother-in-law especially were so happy with their hair and makeup, despite being nervous about their first times having hair and makeup done. Sarah made me look and feel my best, and had my back all day, doing touch-ups and fixing my hair. I'm so, so grateful that she was there with me. She's not only brilliant at what she does, she's incredibly kind and so calm that you can't help but also feel calm . read more

I found Sarah after my initial hair and make up person fell through, and even though her packages were more than what I had budgeted for on H&MU, it was worth locking her in for our wedding. Sarah is so easy to work with, and she communicated very well along the way (which I was so grateful for and impressed by considering she's got 2 little ones). I really appreciated the questionnaires she sent along the way to get the conversation going about looks and styles, and the attention she paid to each person's skin type and skincare routine. From our first phone call together I felt at ease with her immediately and knew that I could trust her. Half of my bridal party were Asians, so it was important to us to find someone who understood how to work with those features (you'd be surprised, I've gotten professional hair and make up done by Asian artists that I did not like!) During our trial and even on the morning of, Sarah took time chatting with each person about the process and the styles we were looking for, I think this put everyone at ease and helped those who were indecisive make a decision about what they wanted. Most of my bridesmaids do not wear make up on the regular, so they were so pleased when they got glammed up but still looked and felt like themselves. I have to admit even for myself that at the end of the night, I was a little bummed to take everything off because of how much I liked the look. One of my bridesmaid had short hair but wanted an updo to keep her hair out of her face, and Sarah and her assistant Colleen worked magic to achieve just that. The moms also had their hair and make up done, and overall we were just so pleased and grateful to Sarah for being willing to travel up to us in the Hudson Valley to complete our wedding looks. read more

While looking for an Asian hair and makeup artist, I found Sarah and I'm so glad I found her. She plays attention to detail and listens to what the bride wants. I was aiming for a natural look with long wavy hair and she accomplished that perfectly. I definitely wanted hair extensions and Sarah found ones that matched my color. No one knew I had extensions on. The makeup was also on point- natural, not cakey or powdery. Sarah also paid attention to skin care. She saw my skin was dry so she did face mask and a lip cream that moisturized my crack dry lips. So happy I went with Sarah!! read more

I knew I would love working with Sarah the moment we met during the trial. As someone who doesn't wear or know a ton about makeup, or spend too much time on hair, I didn't know what to expect for wedding-related HMU, but Sarah made the process so easy. I appreciated all of her suggestions and guidance, and she has a great sense of attention to detail - I was thrilled with how my hair and makeup turned out for my wedding event, as it felt like "me" still, only elevated, and got so many compliments. The best part was also how lovely of a person Sarah was - such a pleasure to work with! read more

tl;dr: Book Sarah for your events if you can! She is amazing. Sarah was my hair and makeup artist for my wedding in the Capital City Area (outside of Albany, NY), and was incredible to work with. She was always very responsive, detail oriented, thoughtful, and well versed in her craft. She came highly recommended to me because my friends knew I am meticulous about planning and quality of service, and Sarah more than delivered! Leading up to the wedding day, I never felt stressed or worried about managing my vendor relationship with her. Planning the details was very easy with Sarah. I originally was not sure if I wanted to book Sarah because I wasn't sure that her portfolio look was what I wanted (and I balked a bit at the cost), but I was won over by her thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and openness to my asks and feedback. This was really important to me, especially as I had poor experiences with other hair and makeup artists at weddings in the past, both in terms of overall look and feedback. Sarah made me feel so incredibly beautiful on my wedding day (and trial). I loved her philosophy of enhancing your natural beauty. I really enjoyed my trial session with her -- it was so fun spending that time with Sarah! -- and the day-of, Sarah was very professional. I also booked services for my mother and mother-in-law, and Sarah was very good in managing them and helping them feel beautiful. My mother can be quite particular and seemingly impossible standards at times and she adored Sarah's work and even asked about her weeks later. On the other end of the spectrum, my mother-in-law is not very comfortable with hair and makeup, and Sarah put her at ease. Finally, I teared up a lot on my wedding day and also danced a LOT (enough that the bustle on my dress broke), but my makeup and hair stayed put and looked great by the end of the night. Sarah's work and recommendations are wonderful and I would highly recommend her to anyone, and especially Asian brides! read more

I found Sarah on Instagram (@_sarahahn) and through her website reached out to her. I saw a variety of looks on her page and after speaking to her on the phone before we signed anything, I knew she was exactly what I was looking for! She takes time to understand who you are as a person and what look you are trying to achieve. She offers detailed instructions for skincare and prep prior to meeting and she's incredibly flexible. I didn't have a very clear vision of what I wanted but I knew I wanted a more natural look and Sarah helped direct and guide me into a look that was absolutely stunning and exactly what I was looking for. Her years of experience and professionalism are clear when working with her and on top of her excellent work she is also incredibly sweet and an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend! read more

Sarah was an awesome hair/makeup artist for our wedding. Incredibly efficient working with Colleen to get my bridesmaids and moms ready for the day. Sarah quelled all my fears about looking too much especially since all the makeup artists I've experienced before definitely made me look like a drag queen of sorts. Sarah worked with me to keep my face looking still me and as natural as possible and elegant on camera. Sarah also provided good suggestion about my hair style the day of and I am so happy I listened to her. If you're looking for natural and elegant without too over the top, Sarah and Colleen are your go to. read more

I can't speak highly enough about Sarah and Coleen! I spent a long time searching for a HMUA for my destination wedding in Asheville, NC who was experienced with Asian hair and features, especially since I have thick wavy hair that hair dressers in the US are often surprised by, and just from my initial phone call with Sarah I felt really reassured. I'd heard that a common wedding regret is not looking like yourself on your wedding day, and during our trial Sarah took a lot of care to tweak the look until it felt like me and responded to feedback I had after the trial. On the day of my wedding, I couldn't have been happier with my hair and makeup -- I looked like the best version of myself! My bridesmaids were all really impressed with their hair and makeup as well, and Sarah and Coleen really went the extra mile with making sure both my mom (doesn't wear makeup ever) and my now-husband's mom (only speaks Korean) were comfortable during the whole process and happy with their looks. Sarah and Coleen are also both so easy and fun to be around -- it was so great having them there for the day! read more

Am I a super model or a movie star? Because that's what I felt and looked like with Sarah Ahn's makeup!! I know people always tell the bride that they are beautiful, but I felt like a celebrity and I'm not usually one to brag about my looks but damnnnnn I looked gorgeous. I even had a guest from Taiwan tell me that he posted pictures of me and people from Asia CALLED him to ask who I was because they thought I was the most beautiful person they had ever seen. Sarah was very professional from the start. She was quick to reply to my long emails full of questions. She called back quickly, texted back quickly and has a great easy to use website portal for payment. She asked a lot of questions and was very detailed in that she wanted pictures of everyone getting hair and makeup done and she asked everyone ahead of time if they had hair and makeup inspirations. I uploaded pictures of the girls to her portal, as well as inspiration pictures each girl chose. This is an unparalleled level of detail, I've been a bridesmaid 3x and have never been asked until the wedding day. On the day of the wedding, she was on time and set everything up as needed. I knew from the beginning that I wanted someone Asian to do my makeup because I've had bad experiences with people making me look like some weird slanty-eyed Asian stereotype. 2 of my bridesmaids were Caucasian and she did a great job on them as well. She does beautiful makeup and is punctual, quick to reply, sweet and accommodating. I would highly recommend her. read more

Sarah was a dream to work with. I had used Glam Squad for my City Hall wedding makeup/hair and even my friends commented on how bad the makeup was. One of my friends pointed out how I needed to go to a makeup artist who understood Asian skin and facial features, and that's what led me to Sarah, and I am so glad I did!! I am a total makeup newbie, and wanted her help in my wedding makeup. I asked if she would be willing to do a makeup trial and lesson with me since I wanted to learn some techniques for myself. She had never done a lesson before but was totally game. Sarah took the time to teach me about quality skin care, recommending products even before we first met to ensure I had a good skin base prior to our session. During our hours long session Sarah took time to explain and teach me how to do each step of her routine. She did my left side and I practiced on my right side, with her coaching me through each step. She remained patient and kind throughout the whole session, even as I struggled with doing my eyelashes for like 45 minutes because I had never applied false lashes before! She took photos and videos throughout the session so I could refer to them at home later on. I loved the natural, beautiful look Sarah gave me. She really understood what I wanted in terms of the look, and she beautifully matched my skin tone with all the other colors for my lips, eyes and cheeks. She had taken one look at one of my City Hall pictures and immediately knew that the colors were off. After the session, Sarah emailed me a list of the exact products she used with links for me to buy them. She also included instructions with each product in the order of which I was to apply them. This was so helpful!!! I was so sad to learn that Sarah wasn't going to be available on the date of my actual wedding ceremony! Regardless, I will absolutely return to her in the future. She is truly excellent and I am so happy I found her! read more

I'm so happy that I found Sarah for my hair and makeup on my wedding day! I initially tried with someone who apparently is not good with Asian makeup and only 2m before the wedding I was almost about to panic and luckily I contacted Sarah from Yelp and she happens to be available! We only did makeup trial and from how detailed she was with my eye makeup and eyelashes I knew she understands makeup for Asian bride! She told me that she actually started as hair stylist, and I got to know what she mean on my wedding day. The hair she did for me on that day was just amazing amazing! Everyone at the wedding complimented me on my makeup and hair. And I can't thank Sarah enough for all her awesome work! read more

I was so happy I hired Sarah for my wedding. Like many others, I was drawn to Brides by SB for their approach to hair and makeup. I wanted to feel like the best version of myself on my wedding day and Sarah's approach to skincare, hair and makeup helped me to feel that way. She looked at my inspiration photos, helped to talk through what I wanted and created a beautiful look on my wedding day. Sarah's presence and demeanor are exactly what you need on your wedding day. She has a very calming presence and you feel well taken care of. I felt confident that she was tracking our schedule and making sure everyone would be done at the right time and it allowed me to relax during the getting ready process. My mom, sister, and friends all commented on how great the energy was while Sarah and Coleen were doing our hair and makeup. I would highly recommend working with Sarah and Brides by SB for your wedding or any other important event. read more

Sarah came highly recommended to me by a friend and I am so grateful that I had the chance to work with her for my wedding!! She is incredibly kind and has such a calming presence - she put me at ease throughout the trial process as well as the day of the wedding. I had initial concerns about my hair and skin being able to cooperate on a hot humid day but Sarah was able to work her magic and made me feel BEAUTIFUL on the day of the wedding. She went above and beyond on every detail and I loved everything about my look. My hair and makeup stayed put and looked amazing all night despite all dancing, crying, sweating etc. She also did my mother and MIL. My mother changed her mind about her hair in the middle of her session and Sarah was able to adjust quickly without missing a beat! Both my mother and MIL received compliments all night about their looks and they couldn't be happier!! read more

I am so glad I hired Brides by SB for my wedding. Sarah and Coleen were very easy to work with. They helped me create a schedule that allowed us to start hair and makeup at a reasonable hour while still getting me ready on time, and they were so kind and accommodating to my family, including my 80-year-old grandmother. I chose Brides by SB because I wanted to feel like myself on my wedding day. I wanted to look natural and elegant, and they accomplished just that. My makeup was polished but not caked-on, and my hair was exactly how I envisioned it. Also, my hair and makeup lasted from about 1:30pm to 12:30am! I cried A LOT during the ceremony, and my makeup did not budge an inch. I didn't even have a hair out of place after dancing for hours! Thank you Sarah and Coleen for all your incredible work. read more

I am so happy I found Sarah. I got married in November 2019. She was so organized, punctual, and accommodating. I loved the portal she had for me, my bridesmaids, and my mom to fill out questionnaires and upload pictures before the wedding. Sarah truly made me feel so beautiful and so confident on my wedding day. I only did a hair trial with her and explained that I wanted very natural makeup for the wedding. She was fine with this and wow she really came through. She was a calming presence while we were getting ready and had a very thorough makeup routine, starting with a face mask. My skin has never looked better. She took into account the both oily and dry nature of my skin and was patient when applying the false eyelashes which I had never worn before. By the end of the night my hair had fallen out slightly but I chose a looser style for my hair so I was still pleasantly surprised. Sarah also brought an associate, Colleen who did the hair for two of my bridesmaids and makeup for my mom and grandma. Everyone looked stunning. Sarah was organized, very kind, and affordable compared to the other options I had researched. I could never thank her enough for helping me look and feel like a beauty queen on my wedding day. I was glowing all day and I owe that confidence to her. read more

I had a makeup trial with Sarah before my wedding and she was so friendly and was genuinely concerned for my skin! Thanks to her, I upped my skin care routine in time for my wedding. I would definitely recommend her, especially those looking for someone who knows Asian features. read more

I worked with both Sarah and Brenda for my wedding last October (so sorry for the late review!) From the beginning, Sarah was very responsive via texts and emails. There were times when I reached out to her at 7 in the morning, and she still got back to me in a timely manner. We scheduled my trial on the same day as my engagement shoot. Given that my shoot was at 10AM, Sarah and Brenda showed up at my apartment at 6AM. They were extremely thorough and provided excellent tips on how I should prepare my skin and hair for the big day. My wedding was on a Sunday and promptly began at 12PM, which photo sessions at the venue starting at 10AM. They showed up at my house at 4AM to prepare my 4 bridesmaids, mother, and mother in law. There were never any complaints and everyone was ready with plenty of time to spare, not to mention we were making last minute schedule changes the day prior. Both my engagement and wedding photos came out beautifully. Plenty of compliments were received as my make up and hair were flawless despite the humidity. read more

Sarah is amazing!!! As a Korean-American, I knew it was important to work with a hair artist who was deeply familiar with asian hair. Luckily, I was referred to Sarah by my makeup artist, Ann of All Brides New York! I remember my first phone call with Sarah very well, she's so personable, is obviously very talented, and also happens to be Korean! The trial went great, with only a couple of adjustments requested on my end between the trial and wedding, and I really appreciated working with Sarah and asking for her advice from her wealth of experience. She also did the rest of the getting-ready party's hair and customized each look to enhance the individuality of the person - included my mom, my mother-in-law, and 3 sisters (with very individual styles). I am SO in love with the hair style that she put together and everyone ooh'd and ahh'd my hair all day and night. Thank you Sarah!!! I can't wait to work with you again! read more

I've had the most wonderful experience with Brenda & Sarah. From our first makeup and hair trials, to engagement photos and finally our big day. Not only were they extremely professional and accommodating, they were also honest to the fault. I originally had an idea of how I wanted my hair to look like for my wedding, and after the initial trial, Sarah convinced me to try a different up-do that would flatter the shape of my face and accentuate the backless gown. Her profound judgment call really made a huge difference. I'm so glad that I took her advice. Brenda and Sarah were definitely my favorite vendors out of all the groups I had worked with on my wedding day. Go ahead and book a trial with them, you won't regret it! read more

I live in San Francisco but got married in New York City--Planning from far away was a challenge, but Sarah was so helpful with the planning. She scheduled a trial for me the week of the wedding, since we wouldn't have an opportunity before--which I really appreciated. I'm Korean-American and it was really important to me to have someone who was familiar with doing hair and makeup for Asian features. Sarah really specializes in working with Asian features, and is so skilled at what she does. She's so thorough in getting the information she needs to make you feel the best version of yourself. One of the things I really appreciated was her thoroughness, having various opportunities to share about your skincare routine, what you normally do for day and night makeup, your inspiration pics, and pics of you dressed up for events and everyday looks. She is literally the only makeup I've had done professionally where I looked and felt beautiful. I cannot recommend her enough! read more

I chose Sarah because of her commitment to natural styling, and from our first conversation I knew I was in organized, calm, and kind hands. She and her associate provided hair services for my entire family on my wedding day and there was not a moment of stress, even with the last-minute addition of my grandmother to the schedule. Communication was easy at every point, and I especially appreciated her easy-to-complete inspiration checklist for every person receiving the service. We did a trial a couple of weeks ahead of time, and that was so instructive and gave us a chance to get to know each other, too. Highly recommend!! read more

I worked with Sarah for my wedding in September, and she did such an amazing job for me and my bridesmaids! Everyone (different hair types, skin tones, etc.) looked their look! Sarah was also amazing to work with leading up to the wedding day. She was super flexible about our day-of schedule, and was always available to answer my questions (anything from skin care tips to thoughts on eyelash extensions to ideas of how my veil should be secured given the hairstyle I had in mind). She was a phenomenal resource and I couldn't be luckier to have had her there on my wedding day! read more

Finally had a chance to write a review about my wonderful experience with Sarah and Brenda on Friday for my new sister in laws wedding. Not only was their work on all of the girls hair and makeup amazing, they work diligently and make sure you are comfortable at every moment. They were spot on to the inspiration pictures that the girls provided them. They even begin the makeup with a hydration procedure that taught me a lot about my own skin! I used Sarah and Brenda for my engagement photos and wedding day hair/makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. My hair came out stunning and stayed in place all night long and I didn't have a head full of 20+ bobby pins to dig around for at the end of the night. The hairstyle complimented my face shape and my wedding dress so well. The makeup was stunning! It was extremely glamorous but not ridiculously over the top or gaudy. And it didn't smudge one bit, even through all the tears of joy! Sarah and Brenda are amazing and they truly work magic to make you look and feel absolutely beautiful on your very special day! i highly recommend them to everyone i know! read more

I never got around to doing a trial so the first day I met Sarah was the day of my wedding. I decided to book her based on some reviews I read, photos on her website/ IG, and off her first email to me. Her rates were reasonable and her communication was just so professional and sweet so I felt comfortable moving forward and I'm really glad I did. It can be nerve-wracking if you are unable to do a trial and you are meeting your HMU artist the morning of your wedding. But Sarah is amazing. She asked all the questions about your skin/hair/etc beforehand to make sure she fully understands what you are looking for and she comes prepared! She and her 2nd artist Coleen arrived right on time, set up super quick, and even came supplied with lighting. I had 3 bridesmaids also getting hair and makeup in addition myself, and Sarah and Coleen powered straight through for 4 hours working to get us all ready on time. In the end, everyone looked amazing. I'm very happy I went with Sarah, she is a true professional! read more

Sarah and her assistant Colleen were so friendly, professional, and wonderful to work with! I was looking for someone with experience with Asian features and I'm pretty picky when it comes to makeup and hair, but Sarah took the time to work with me to try different options during the trial and really narrow down what I wanted. I also appreciated how she emphasized skin preparation, and chose products to suit my skin type, hair type, and features instead of a one-size-fits-all approach. She even recommended some products to add to my skincare routine in the months before my wedding, and took the time to explain the various products that she used during the trial. On the day of, Sarah and Colleen were extremely efficient and organized, and really kept on top of keeping us on schedule without rushing through anyone's hair or makeup. I wrote up this review on WeddingWire as well After finding a quality photographer, my next mission was finding quality hair and makeup artists- because what else will be in those pictures you look back on forever besides your face? Brenda and Sarah are extremely responsive, thoughtful and really LISTEN to what you want. They are also very flexible in traveling for your trial and your wedding day- which was really helpful in not having to run around on an already hectic day. I loved my hair and makeup trial with them, they make suggestions and give their professional insight on what may or may not work based on what you want to look like- but they never pressure you into anything (unlike some other people who try to sell add-ons just for the sake of up-selling). I thought what they did at my trial was already amazing taking the random pictures I sent them of people who don't look like me and my vague descriptions of what I wanted into a beautifully done look- but then they really took it up a notch for the actual wedding. My make-up and hair for the wedding lasted ALL day and well into the night- even after I worked up a good sweat on the dance floor multiple times. They also did the hair and makeup for my 6 bridesmaids and the makeup for my mom. I did mismatched dresses for my bridesmaids, and I also gave them full control of what they wanted to look like. Brenda and Sarah did amazingly with 6 different personalities, skin types/tones, face and eye shapes. Everyone looked like their own version of a beautiful and elegant, with a hint of sexy and glam princess- yet all looked effortlessly natural. I could not recommend them highly enough. I'm sitting here trying to think up of when I can possibly use them again so I can look that beautiful again! read more

Sarah was extremely helpful, kind and patient throughout the entire experience. For 2 months, Sarah and I exchanged emails consulting what to do with my hair in preparation for the wedding day. On three separate occasions, we talked on the phone for 30+ minutes just to make sure I was comfortable and felt prepared for the day. On the day of, she came to my apt at 5:00am and was extremely professional throughout the whole process. She completed my hair in 45 minutes. The results were AMAZING. I have had my hair done in the past for special events. My hair would never last / matched my face / style. But with Sarah, and 97 degree weather, my hair lasted 15+ hours of celebrating and photos. I never thought that was possible. Everybody commented on how beautiful my hair was and people have already reached out to see who my hair stylist was. Sarah is extremely talented and professional throughout the whole process. She is extremely trustworthy with different types of hair and knows how to make sure you get what you want. You are definitely making the right choice with Sarah. read more

Sarah is wonderful. She's stylish. And boy is she talented! Ive had three great experiences with her as a bridesmaid- she is very accommodating and easy to work with. Having my hair styled by her is always fun and comfortable, I know my hair is in good hands. Sarah knows what looks good and makes it look effortless! Her style is distinct- not super polished and uptight like most wedding stylists. She has a very natural touch to her work. That wispy nonchalant strand of hair? It's there on purpose. Sarah is A-MA-ZING!!! I was lucky enough to have her as both my wedding hair AND makeup artist this past summer. My impression of Sarah had dated back years earlier when I was a bridesmaid and she was doing hair for my friend (the bride) and all us bridesmaids. Her elegant and natural style left a deep impression, and I remembered feeling very pretty as a bridesmaid. So naturally when it came my turn, I asked my friend for her contact. As someone who usually skips makeup and does nothing with my hair, I requested for the 'natural' look with a braided up-do. I always feel heard by Sarah, from our trial meeting to the wedding day and all our correspondence in between. In fact, I love her style so much I asked that she took over my bridal makeup as well without getting a pre-wedding makeup trial with her. On my wedding day, Sarah did not disappoint! She did the most beautiful hair and makeup, and I love how it came out in the final photos! The best hidden deal behind all this is how Sarah helped me come up with a package that works for my budget. I feel so lucky to have her as my hair and makeup artist and would recommend her to any of my friends! read more

Sarah and Brenda did my wedding hair and makeup and my family's hair and makeup this past weekend and I can't say enough good things about this terrific duo! As other reviewers have said, Brenda and Sarah are incredibly kind, responsive, accommodating and actually listen to what you want. I had my trial in the Spring and got to try a few different hair and makeup styles. I wanted a braided hair style and a more natural but elevated makeup look that complimented my simple dress. During my trial, we talked about the type of wedding I was planning, my dress style and any accessories I had. Sarah and Brenda took lots of pictures for me to mull over after the trial. They were totally laid back and made me feel comfortable. For the last couple of months before my wedding, they were readily available to answer all of my questions through email (how last minute changes in accessories would affect my hair style, skincare suggestions, etc). A few weeks before the wedding, they sent an outlined schedule of who would be getting their hair and makeup done at various times so we could plan the morning accordingly. On my wedding day in Brooklyn, Sarah and Brenda got to my hotel early and were immediately ready to go! They were so sweet to my family and my future in-laws as we ate breakfast, joked around, hung out with my dog, etc. Each family member wanted a different style of hair and makeup and Brenda and Sarah were very accommodating. They were unfazed when different family members came to the hotel room to say hi and to take pictures of us getting ready. At the end of our session, they touched everyone up and made sure everyone looked amazing. Sarah taught my sister how to put in my veil without ruining my hair as I wanted portraits with and without it on. Brenda made sure we weren't oily and our makeup didn't budge as temperatures were reaching 85+ degrees. Throughout the whole night, my hair and makeup stayed put through eating, drinking and dancing and I couldn't have been happier! My family members loved how they looked and couldn't believe how nothing smudged! Please don't hesitate and book Sarah and Brenda now! read more

Choosing Sarah and her team to do my hair and makeup for my wedding was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. From the hair and makeup trial, I knew Sarah was the right choice because she did a great job listening to my vision for my wedding look and making adjustments/experimenting. She had great tips and ideas and was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. My wedding was during the day, so we had to have a very early start time on the day of--Sarah worked with me to craft a schedule to get my girls and me ready on time for photos/etc. well in advance of the start time of the wedding. She and her team showed up right on the dot on the morning of and ensured that everything went seamlessly. My bridesmaids, my mom and I all looked AWESOME, and my bridesmaids raved about how good my hair and makeup team was. My priority in picking a hair and makeup artist for the wedding was finding someone who not only is super talented, but who is a good communicator, and Sarah is just that! Highly, highly recommend :) read more

I worked with both Sarah and Brenda for my wedding in August 2018 and had my trial in January 2018. I received compliments throughout the day about how intricate and beautiful my hair was, and even better, both my hair and make up lasted the whole day (even after hours of dancing). Sarah did my hair and my mothers hair for my wedding and I absolutely LOVED it! She is professional and incredibly accommodating when it came to what I wanted for my hair and my hectic schedule. My mothers hair is thick and difficulty to style but Sarah managed to tame her hair beautifully. I had a difficult time articulating what I wanted my hair to look like for my wedding day and Sarah was able to turn my poor description into an amazingly beautiful reality. The idea of hair and makeup makes me weary. Then thinking about makeup melting off my face towards the end of the night, my hair not looking like it did when it was first done and having the makeup and hair not "feel like me," was not something I wanted to deal with on my wedding day. I actually contemplated not having it done at all until my friend introduced me to Brenda and Sarah. They were very prompt in getting back to me with a trial date, pricing and were more than on time the day of the wedding to do hair and makeup for my mom, my aunt, maid of honor and myself. We are all minimalists but Sarah and Brenda made us all feel great comfortable in the hair and makeup they did for us: we felt like ourselves but so beautiful. They did the hair and makeup to what fit us most (my family and I are Korean, my maid of honor is Jamaican). Not only that, to my very surprise, at the end of the night when I finally had a chance to get to the bathroom, I found that my makeup and hair WAS STILL INTACT. (All ours were!) I walked into the bathroom expecting to wipe some eyeliner running under my eyes (I was basically bawling the entire time), and see some caking on my face but I didn't have to touch anything! And I realized my hair didn't feel like it was falling out place, or I needed to readjust anything! Their work is impeccable and they take the time to listen to what you really want. I called them up again for hair and makeup a couple of years later for my son's 1st birthday party! read more

Sarah and Brenda are the BEST hair & makeup duo in the NYC/NJ area! I've seen some of their work before and I really wanted to use their services for my engagement and wedding photos. They did such an amazing job, not only on me but on my SIX bridesmaids as well! I really can't say enough about how great my bridal party looked that day..they offer a full range of services and can accommodate to your every need - which is REALLY important on what could be such a stressful day. My girlfriend had a tattoo and Brenda was able to cover it up for her no problem. Sarah was able to give my bridesmaids the exact hairstyle they requested and was kind enough to touch up some of the do's after the windy photoshoot!! Their prices are really competitive for professionals who have worked in the industry for years. I know from my research that they have experience working on commercial shoots, high end salons and in nyc's fashion weeks so I knew I wouldn't get the typical Asian white-face, glitter-shimmer makeup that I've gotten from local salons when I was in other bridal parties. Their work speaks for itself but more importantly, I think their level of service and care sets them apart from other stylists/artists I've worked with - they listened to all my requests, gave me their honest input, and made the biggest day of my life so relaxing. I definitely recommend their services! read more
