As a last effort to keeping my business local, I made an appointment with White Willow. When I arrived, I was greeted by the store owner Kelli and she asked what type I was looking for and showed me the dresses. She made suggestions and let me and my group pick them out. The store was beautiful inside, with a very upscale feel. I was feeling unsure because of the sizing on the dresses I had already tried. I had already been to other stores where none of the dresses would zip or come close to zipping and was forced to come out with a completely open back and show people and look in the mirror and "pretend" that it would be perfect in another size. I was pleased to see that at White Willow the dress sizes started at 12 and went up, and had different styles mixed on the rack. You didn't have to go to a certain "section" based on your size. After trying on the 1st dress with Kelli, I knew this place was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and I was soon able to relax and enjoy trying on dresses. And the dresses! Are gorgeous, quality gowns that are quite true to size. I am a size 14-16 and I was able to zip or almost zip all dresses that I tried on near that size range. And the ones that wouldn't quite zip, Kelli pulled together and made them feel like they fit. Out of 6 dresses I found my perfect one, and actually bought it off the rack that night because for once, it fit! Kelli was very professional, both in her appearance and knowledge for wedding dresses. She took her time to make sure I found what I wanted and needed. Appointments at White Willow are also private, so you have the undivided attention you deserve as a bride. AND After I said yes to my dress, we celebrated with complimentary wine! To her horror (yes, I will say horror as it was five days before the big day), her initial gown was a disaster. They were supposed to make a sweetheart line and bring in the dress to fit her very small frame. Needless to say, the neckline was clearly not even and the dress hung off her. To top it off, the store said they could not alter her dress again in time for her wedding that Saturday. While that is a separate issue... she realized the only option was to quickly search for an inexpensive gown elsewhere. It was a Monday that she walked into Seams Sew Fine (an emotional mess) and fell in love with the staff and a gorgeous strapless champagne colored dress. When I went with her on Thursday to pick up the dress it fit like a glove, the bride was glowing and the entire room teared up. She literally went from tears of horror to tears of joy just a few days before her wedding, something NO bride she ever have to experience. The staff at Seams Sew Fine didn't just save the day, they saved the wedding. The team made dramatic alterations to the dress (it was a 12, she was a 6) in just days. Not only did family and friends notice their dedication to make this dress work in a crunch, but we noted they did it with a smile and phenomenal customer service... because they knew how important it was to help a bride and ensure she felt beautiful... even though they had only known her for a matter of days. Fast forward to Saturday, the wedding day, and I can only describe the bride as an angel. We were notified that our tuxes were ready a week prior, which is great, but there was no mention of the cost. MAKE SURE you plan for their resizing. I know this is common, but we had 9 people get their suits/tuxes from them, and they ALL needed to be tailored: either wrong shoes, wrong jackets, completely wrong size pants and shirts, a mix of everything, and one of my groomsmen was big, so they resized him and just sent him with two shirts to the wedding because they were still uncertain of his size. They even looked at us and asked if we got it fitted there because of how screwed up they were (which we did). We also informed them that we did not want pocket squares and/or cufflinks, which we ended up paying for because the groomsman didn't know what they were supposed to have or not. Now, on to the cost: it says multiple places that, all said and done, the tux rental would be $250 at the high end. Asking everyone what they paid at the end, there was a variety of answers, which seems odd to me. Everything from 295-320 was paid for the suits/tuxes. Also, make sure you look at their hours, which are wonky. Someone better be able to take them back on a Tuesday if you have a Saturday wedding, because they aren't open Sundays or Saturdays.

I had a great experience at David's bridal. I am getting married in a few months and ran into some…read moreissues with my original dress, which has been extremely stressful. As a result I needed to find a new one. Four months is a tight timeline, but Mariah was my consultant and she calmly helped me find some new options. I was able to find something off of the rack that I really like and I left feeling 100% better about my wedding! I will also note that I visited this store earlier on in my dress search process (maybe 7-8 months ago) and they were not as impressive, they seem to really be working on customer service. Pros: Range of styles available, good prices, frequent sales, on-site alterations. The staff is also very nice and you can get an appointment with very short notice (same day). Cons: This location does not necessarily have as many choices as other David's locations I have visited in larger metro areas. It's also important to keep in mind that this is not an upscale boutique, so the store doesn't necessarily feel as glamorous as some others and you won't find some of the more intricate styles you may see elsewhere. Bottom line: Great place to go, particularly if you are in a tight spot (i.e. dress problems) or on a budget.
