This shop dressed my daughter in every gown she wished to try, gave us all the time needed, and when my daughter decided to design a gown that she wanted they were on it immediately and the designer was just as wonderful. My daughter had specks of her dream dress until she was happy to order, the suspense of waiting was tough as we did not see final gown in person until designed and arrived. Upon arrival, we cried, the gown was everything and more in person and fit right to a tee except for a few tucks that Cindy allowed for room if needed. After filling out the paperwork and sending a check deposit, as requested, I worked with a representative to book an all-inclusive trip to Puerto Vallarta for $2,435.84, which I paid in full. Three days before leaving for our honeymoon, I had a bad feeling about the whole thing. This led me to calling the resort to confirm our reservation -- which thank goodness I did -- because we discovered that the whole trip was a scam and the travel agent had stolen our money. The representative not only stated this was a case of fraud, but admitted it had been happening for months to other clients from the company. This left us without our dream honeymoon and out $1,500 in nonrefundable airfare, on top of the money paid for the trip. I notified Tracina Fisher, the owner of Formalities, in hopes of preventing this from happening to other brides. While she initially expressed sympathy and asked how she and Peter Hayes (the Marketing Concepts Representative) could help, their tone quickly changed. When I asked if their companies could help recoup the $1,500 we lost--considering this situation never would have occurred without their promotion--they became extremely rude and blamed me instead of taking accountability for putting their customer through this situation. It's devastating to lose our dream honeymoon to fraud and even worse to feel abandoned by the businesses we trusted. While we are dealing with this issue with both federal and state authorities, I strongly urge anyone considering this store or promotion to proceed with caution. This experience has caused immense financial and emotional distress, and I hope it prevents others from suffering the same.

We ordered the dresses in February and in by May. She called us and we picked them up. Since the girls were from several states they took care of their own alterations and steaming. The wedding is approaching soon and Trudy called to ask if everything was ok with the dresses and if we were satisfied. I got the recommendation from a coworker who knew a local bride that actually used Trudy for her alterations without a hitch. At this cozy store filled with prom and bridesmaid dresses, I first met Trudy who was super friendly and welcoming. I called ahead to make sure it was okay to come in. It's a good thing to call ahead because I later found out that she is the only person who runs the store! Don't forget to bring the shoes you will be wearing so she can get the length right. I brought in my wedding dress three months before my June wedding to make sure she had ample time to work on it and I would not be going crazy with last minute details. She dove right in and took note of what I needed done and pinned the places that needed to be hemmed. She gave me an estimated date of when I should expect a call from her. She had one of those big desk calendars to keep her straight and saw her pencil me in for a scheduled call. I left the shop and felt like I was in good hands and marked my calendar as well. It was the week of (beginning of May) when I was supposed to expect her call, which also had been the same month as prom season. Trudy had not followed up with me yet. I gave her a call during business hours and it always rang enough times for me to leave a message. I finally left a message after days of trying, gave her the weekend to get back to me, but still no call the week after that. I finally called some weekday and got her. By this time, it was the end of May. She explained to me that she was very busy with wedding season starting and prom season in full swing. I was holding back my anger and tried pressing her with questions of when she would call me back for the second fitting. She assured me that it would get done. She looked and asked what my wedding date was and said that she had plenty of time to have it done by then. She asked me when I would like to come in next, so I told her what would work for me. By this point I was so frustrated with what she saw was miscommunication, which was really a delay in contact. A nice heads up would have been nice to know that she did not forget about me. I kept contemplating on taking it to another place but with limited amount of time and her already knowing what I wanted, I did not and could not find a place that would take my dress because I bought it elsewhere. Let me tell ya, I did not get my dress back until THREE DAYS before the wedding. Good thing I had off a week before my wedding AND I was in town. My wedding was not held locally, so the fact that I had these days off were helpful. Brides, beware! I noticed this is how she works. My coworker who is getting married is experiencing the same thing. She is getting married next weekend, she came in SIX MONTHS before her big day, she experienced the no callback, the trying to get a hold of her, and also her groom and groomsmen's stuff was not even ordered yet. Their stuff should be arriving...hmmm, let's see...THREE DAYS before the wedding! Not to mention, these guys were measured FOUR MONTHS before her big day. Way to make a bride worry! When i expressed this they told me as long as there is a seam they can take it out and it should be fine. It wasnt until august 18th did my dress come in (the wedding was on sept. 4th) i drove down immediately to get alterations done on it, the dress did not fit my hips. When i told them this they lady asked me if i was sure i didnt gain any weight since my try on period. I had just gotten married in july so i knew i couldnt have gained much weight but was still extremely offended. When they realized they couldnt take the seam out as far as it needed they got irritated and told me they would have to add material to the sides. They then told me id have to come back for atleast two more appts i explained that i live 1hr 30minutes away and the wedding was in two weeks, they did not care they told me thats what im going to have to do to get this dress to fit my body shape.. the following appt i went and they did a hem and have to fix the straps as they were too tight. The hem was crooked, when they "fixed" the strap they didnt take into account that my arm would still need to fit into the hole. They told me id have to come back for another appt. for then to fix the straps. I explained i would not have time for that and this needed to be taken care of today so i could take the dress home. The seamstress was very annoyed by this went literally cut the arm pit of the dress and sewed it back together to give it some "wiggle room" returned 10 minutes later and told me they dress will be fine its only for one day. I left with the dress that day. My husband on the other hand rented his clothes. The bride chose the pants and the shirt and we get him sized the same day i picked up my dress. They said everything is good and to pick his things up any time after the 30th of august.. the Monday before the wedding. The bride picked all of the guys clothes up on the same day saving us time to all drive down, the next day all the guys went to try on their clothes.. none of them fit, my husbands shirt did not even button because it was so tight on his chest. The pants were extremely tight on his waist/hips and just fell. They almost looked like a skirt on him. They could not wear these outfits, we took them back the following day explaining they didnt fit and that we were going to have to buy other clothes from somewhere else, they argued and told us they were not refunding us any money because they were already rented. The clothes weren't even worn! After getting screamed at by the owner we told them the review on this place is going to look awful coming for 20+ people all from the same wedding party, thats when their demeanor changed they told us they would refund us 50$ a person, we paid over 200$ for these rentals, now we have to go out and buy new clothes for each person! They are MONEY HUNGRY. We all get the pandemic hit businesses hard but to treat a wedding party like this 2 days before whats supposed to be the best day of their lives..
