The Sauvignon Blanc was especially good -- crisp, refreshing, and perfect for a warm day. The Pinot Noir was also a standout, smooth and easy to sip. You can tell they put care into their wines, and there was something for everyone in our group to like. The grounds are spacious and peaceful, with views, gardens, and plenty of spots to wander or sit and relax. It feels more like an experience than just a quick tasting stop. The woman helping us was a bit reserved, but still helpful as we made our selections. Overall, Ironstone is a lovely place to visit if you're in the area -- great wine, beautiful scenery, and a relaxing atmosphere that makes for a memorable outing.

She ordered a case of their wine and off we were to pick it up! The winery is currently not open for regular wine tasting visits. You can order online and pick up the wine. It is a modest winery set back up on a hill. It is a gorgeously isolated location. The winery has a philosophy of less is more. The wines are available for retail at approximately 13 retail locations in the sierra foothill community. Look on their website for the list! They support local charitable organizations in the surrounding rural communitites. Yes, I researched this winery on their website. The wine is that good! The Tannat is amazing! I am a beer snob, but not necessarily a wine snob. But, I do know good wine when I taste it! Order 6 plus bottles and you get a deal! Whoop! If you are going to visit Yosemite, order online and come here for a case or two of wine. You will NOT regret it! Leave yourself plenty of time to drive here. Outside pizza vendor was 1.5 hours out on orders. so we stopped in the little store and found excellent crackers and cheese to hold us off. I heard the Genoa bread was amazing from a Modesto bakery. But, sold out:( you pay for everything and the. Bring to your server and they put it all on a charcuterie board and bring to your table. I really enjoyed their Chardonnay on this rather hot day. People were dancing, drinking, eating and socializing. It was great! the wildflowers on the grounds are so beautiful! They have games to play. And dogs are welcome! Check out all my photos. I think it would have been nice to offer fresh Apples, pears or grapes in the store for the charcuterie boards. You have to try their soft Jalapeno cheese in the cold case!!!
