We loved them so much we got a bunch and brought them on the train. Really friendly service and plenty of smiles. We ate and had espresso and tea there every morning in Udine. It is also one of the few things open early in the morning and stays open through the day and very late at night.

There also is a place to sit outside in the always shady lane leading away from the plaza. I get a cappuccino in the morning (the only time of the day Italians drink cappuccino, I'm told) and a caffe latte later in the day. I like that the latter is always served in a tall glass. I can't resist the croissants with jam. My 5 year old loved the plain croissants. There are other bakery choices, though they are limited. A comfortable location. Some English spoken.
