Came here for a 'second breakfast' after a nice run on the New River Trail. Was a good choice. Small menu (smart thinking, imo), but done quite well. I had a basic eggs, toast, meat (bacon) plate, which was done about as good as you'll get anywhere, and my spouse had a waffle which she said was quite good. That's a high rating, friends, because I make waffles often, and mine are outrageously good (ex-chef with the food-ego to match). So, hat's off to the Briar Patch Cafe.
And yes, the coffees were good too. Surprising how many places can actually 'do coffee' poorly. Not here. Again, well done. Hope to visit Galax again, and when we do, we'll certainly eat here more than once, because I do hate cooking for myself when I'm on vacation :) read more
