When I first met Brian, I believed him to be knowledgeable and genuine. We discussed that I wanted a company that would mow, blow, spray weeds, trim and do sprinkler repair. He assured me that he could do it all. Instead of his crew just doing the necessary weed spraying and trimming without being asked, I had to text Brian to ask him to relay the message to his crew to do the work. The work that Brian agreed to be done when he was hired has either not been done or was slow to complete. I have been asking for sprinkler repair since March, but to no avail. Either he is too busy or doesn't care about his customers. Very disappointed! read more

Started out great. Got a great quote but then it became impossible to reach Brian. 2 months later, still no contact and I'm calling/texting him a few times per week. I was recommended by a neighbor that Brian does fantastic work..... He came by gave me a estimate sounded very professional and like he knew what he was doing the price was reasonable.. We started off with a date to repair my sprinklers the day came and went so I txt him last least 2 to 3 times he finally came moved my sprinklers and offered to send me an invoice to pay him later (my mistake was just writing him a check) the next day while I was checking the grass I noticed 2 sprinklers weren't moved, I text Brian several times he kept saying today, tomorrow etc. he never came until this day I called him, he sent me to voicemail, I left him a msg and I still have yet to hear back from him... I even asked him if that wasn't the price including those 2 sprinklers to just let me know. He's not responsible or committed. read more

Brian's was recommended to us when we have just moved into the area and were in need of a gardener. Based on the experience we have had with him, if I could give him no stars or better yet minus stars it would better reflect his level of service. We were very specific as to the type of service we wanted, and "mow & Blow" was out of the question. Also having a large yard we wanted to make sure he was up for the task. The lot is large and heavily treed, but we were not looking for a "formal" garden, rather a clean natural look that would not look neglected. Brian promised to provide a service just as we discussed. In addition we also hired a service to provide the chemical treatments in the yard (pre-emergent, fungicide, fertilize, etc) since Brian just does not do (even though he initially said he did). After a month of service where each week we would have to ask him to deliver what he promised, he came by to present his bill and told us he has under estimated the effort and has to raise the price by 30%. That was surprising in some respect, but we chalked it up to his lack of experience and not wanting to penalize him for over promising, we agreed to the new price. He also told us he needs to move our service from Wednesday to Monday, which was no problem for us. Following week Monday was a no show, we figured must have meant from the next week. Wednesday passed too, still no show. Call on Thursday, had to leave messages, no call back till evening at which time he tells my wife he has been trying to call us for over a week but cannot get through (two cell lines? everyone else was getting through), and in any case he has a new commercial account which will take up a lot of time, so he will not be coming to take care of the yard any more. So now in addition to lying he shows to have no scruples either - the yard looks totally neglected, but not his problem. But wait it gets better. We hire a new gardener who's work we have seen in other gardens, and put Brian out of our mind. First day the gardener comes he dedicates to cleanup and tells us he has found mounds of leaves hidden behind and under bushes in the back, it took six 35Gal containers just to collect the trash put there by Brian. So I would add lazy to the unscrupulous lier already described above. And now for the coup de resistance, it is a couple of weeks later and we see Brian is now taking care of a new home just across the street, I guess so much for the story of a new commercial account that was to consume all his time. btw, trying to find information on Brian's Lawn Service is also quite confusing. We found a lot of negative information but it was old and actually refers to when his father (Jose) was owner of the business. The BBB actually shows they are out of business. After going through several gardeners we called Brian's Lawn Maintenance. We were so delighted to have them do our large yard. They were always on time, did a great job pruning, mowing the lawn and taking care of anything that needed attention even taking care of the sprinklers. Our yard always looked clean and beautiful. We were very pleased especially since we are very particular how our home looks. They NEVER left the job half done. Another thing that impressed us was that if the weather did not permit gardening on their due date they would always make it up another day. The gardeners we had before would just say, "Sorry but we can't make it up" and still charge us for the full month service. Four years ago we moved out of town, but have now returned to Visalia. We were worried if Brian's Lawn Maintenance would consider taking new customers and to our surprise he said "yes". We went over the whole yard, talk over all the work it needed, and it needed a LOT of work. When the work was done I couldn't believe how beautiful the yard looked.
