I highly recommend Dr. Su and his team who provide expert care. Dr. Su goes above and beyond to properly diagnose and treat his patients. His YouTube channel is an excellent resource for any patient to understand their condition and treatment options. Dr. Su truly cares and advocates for his patients. He is not one to rush to surgery. However, if you require surgery, he is excellent.

Top of Mt. Lassen 3 months after back surgery!

I never anticipated that I would be climbing Mt Lassen three months after my spinal fusion!! Dr. Brian Su rocks! My only regret is not getting my surgery earlier. I could barely walk without unbearable pain before this. Thanks Dr. Su!

This review is way overdue for Dr. Su and his amazing team, his PA Connor and MA Bruno. I'm 6 months post L5-S1 fusion surgery and let me tell you, Dr. Su saved my life. I suffered from degenerative disk disease for about 7 months prior to meeting Dr. Su. My pain was unimaginable, 10/10. I would randomly get a pinched nerve that would literally paralyze my lower body and drop me on my knees on weekly basis. I tried physical therapy, spinal decompression, medication, nothing worked and finally I got on NSAIDS 24/7. I started losing hope until one day my wife found "The Spine Guy" aka Dr. Brian Su:) I cannot recommend Dr. Su highly enough for anyone seeking top-tier care for spinal issues. My experience under his care was exceptional from start to finish. From the moment, I walked into his clinic, the atmosphere exuded professionalism and comfort. The staff were welcoming, efficient, and made the entire process seamless. Dr. Su's expertise and compassion were evident during our initial consultation. He took the time to listen attentively to my concerns, thoroughly explained the diagnosis, and outlined all available treatment options in a way that was easy to understand. His depth of knowledge was truly impressive and instilled a great deal of confidence. The surgery itself was a success, and throughout the process, Dr. Su and his team provided exemplary support. Post-surgery care was meticulously planned, and they were always available to address any questions or concerns that arose during my recovery. What sets Dr. Su apart is not just his remarkable surgical skills but also his genuine care for his patients. He made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way and provided continuous support throughout my recovery journey. Thanks to Dr. Su's expertise and dedication, I've experienced a 100% improvement in my quality of life. I'm beyond grateful for his exceptional care and would unequivocally recommend him to anyone in need of a skilled and compassionate spine surgeon. Thank you, Dr. Su!

I have dealt with my back and left leg pain for over 20 years but only 7 years ago I found out that I have L5-S1 Spondylolisthesis. It was hard for me to trust anyone to operate on my back it is a serious surgery. I came across Dr Su YouTube channel (The Spine Guy) thanks to my husband and I learned so much about my back problem that I made an appointment to drive 2 hours to meet him for a consultation. First I noticed his office was super close to Marin Hospital so that was convenient. The front staff was nice and office or waiting room was clean and welcoming (Love the Mural pictures on the walls of Marin hilltop area). Dr Su is very knowledgable and knows and understands the spine so much. He is Board Certified and I felt comfortable for him to operate on my spine. He also is very tall! The best decision I could have made for myself was to say yes to a back fusion surgery with Dr Su at UCSF Marin Health Institute. He has an assistant whom helped me get insurance approval for everything before we started since he accepts most insurance companies. The hospital stay at Marin was very nice because of the staff and nice nurses who cared for me. Dr Su checked on my recovery every morning while staying at the hospital he made sure he had a way to connect with me directly to check on me as his patient which I thought was very nice. He has a great team who works with him his assistants Bruno and Dr Connor Brown (Spine Surgeon) whom helped with before and after check ups are great so thank you. My family was very supportive and helped me to get through it. The first week was the hardest but it got easier every day after so patience and resting is key to recovery. I am 7 week post surgery now and I feel great. Pain is completely gone no more pinched nerve and I'm back to driving and enjoying life without worrying about how much I need to walk. Dr Su, you changed my life to the best so thank you. I highly recommend you to anyone who needs help with their back pain or spine needs like a back fusion. A+ surgery. A+ care team Pleasure to have you as my surgeon. Thank you so much. God bless you and your team.

Thank you Dr. Su, L3, L4,L5 fusion plus other fixes!! Living my best life completely pain free!!

Dr. Brian Su was recommended to me by my mother. She had a complicated spinal fusion operation performed by him about ten years ago. I had awful constant sciatica pain radiating down my right leg. Dr. Su diagnosed me after an MRI scan. I needed a Microdiscectomy. He explained in layman's terms that the donut shaped padding between my disks had ruptured and the fluid was leaking. He laid out two options. One, I get cortisone shots to ease the pain and the other option was surgery. He said it was an hour long procedure. I didn't want to drag out my back problem. Dr. Su recommended I watch a You Tube video of his surgery for Microdiscectomy. Two weeks later I had the surgery done at Dr. Su's amazing Surgery Center in San Rafael. The place sits on the top of the hill above Northgate Mall. This building has sweeping views and the Surgery Center inside was gorgeous. Parking is a breeze out front and after your surgery, you are picked up below in the parking garage with an attendant that takes you there via elevator. The staff at the surgery center was top notch and everything went smoothly. After the surgery I only needed pain pills for three days. I really felt Dr. Su was delicate and precise with my procedure. Three months later, I am as good as new. I have absolutely no pain and have no hindrance in my mobility. Dr. Su's Assistant Chris O'Connell was very helpful and worth his weight in gold. The entire team working with Dr. Su is the best of the best. If I had to do the surgery again, I would in a heartbeat!

He got to know me and understand me, and he promoted physical therapy, exercise, massage, good health and minimal medication to support my goals. He did not want to do surgery until I determined it was time--that the pain was impacting my life too much to continue living in the way I wanted. That day came and I had a 3 level anterior cervical fusion in 2017 and an anterior/posterior lumbar fusion in 2018. Dr. Byers and his nurses, MRI team, billing and office staff, x-ray techs and physical therapy group have given me a pain-free life! They are beyond amazing, attending to every detail--including insurance, state disability, and all the follow-ups for meds, any questions I had and my additional physical therapy needs. I was shaking in pain trying to take a shower in January of 2018. In January of 2019 I am climbing mountains! I cannot recommend Dr. Byers highly enough. I give him and his team the highest praise for their stellar care and genuine effort to improve my life. I will be forever grateful to CA Orthopedics.

Dr. Diab took one look at my son, asked him some questions, and he ordered an MRI with contrast, a biopsy procedure, and more extensive lab work. He didn't want to operate on our son if antibiotics with IV could cure the problem first, followed by oral antibiotics. What a great doctor, he doesn't opt for surgery! Dr. Diab and his stellar team (Dr. Andrew Figoni, awesome assistant Eric and RN Dede Cerruti responding to my emails) went to work to save a 15-year-old's life, which was diagnosed as Osteomyelitis. We were all baffled by what crippled our son and caused him excruciating pain, especially with a healthy teenager. The delay with another orthopedic specialist (by sending him home) didn't help with his agonizing pain since Labor Day. Our son was admitted to PICU after the labs tested positive for bacteria leading to a serious infection from the "bone fracture". Needless to say, my world turned upside down as a mom. Thank God for Dr. Diab at UCSF, whom patients come to see from all over the world! Dr. Diab is an orthopedic surgeon and Chief of Pediatric Orthopedics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Stanford University; he completed a residency in general orthopedic surgery at the University of Washington and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Harvard University. He came to UCSF in 2002. Our son is on a long road to recovery, but no more intense pain ~ AMEN! He can feel normal again and return to school. We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season thanks to UCSF and remarkable doctors like Dr. Diab! You bet I signed all the paperwork needed to research my son's samples from the biopsy to help save more teens who may walk in with the same symptoms. I call bullshiviki on that especially when it takes an unreasonable amount of time book an appointment. Dr. Baidu has set a standard that his staff can't meet. While I appreciate efficiency, I think flexibility is a missing element and then his staff has to take the brunt of dissatisfied patients. Dr. Baidu needs to learn leadership and management versus dictating standards that are unreasonable and have a significant negative impact. I am accountable for being 7 minutes late. I find that a 10 minute window is reasonable. 2 minutes is misguided. I personally think that this physician is a disappointing model. If a patient must endure a 2 plus month delay in getting an appointment, surely the Practice can communicate the precious nature of his minutes and seconds. FYI, restaurants give a standard +/- 10-15 minute window. A banner should go on the website that highlights the 2 minute demand. Very disappointed in Marin Health, who on average takes a delay from appointment time of more than 15 minutes to actually be be seen by a Provider. Marin Health is under resources to begin with (most Providers are not taking new Patients). I'd say Marin Health Executives need to pay attention to their business.

Never in my 60+ years has a doctors office told me to go away, as you know, usually you wait. I'm in extreme pain and sitting in the parking lot as I write this. They operate in 20 minute increments so why couldn't the doctor have given me a 15 minute visit, it was only a verbal face to face anyway with hopefully a pain prescription. Why are they jamming people so closely together? To maximize every dollar out of patients and this zero tolerance for five minutes late is like some Catholic boarding school rule out of the 1800s. Very very unreasonable when it takes weeks or longer to get an appointment and you're in pain. If you're looking for empathy this place isn't it, you're a number on a chart! I've seen the doctor in the past, I'm expressing no opinion on him personally but this new policy stinks and no notice was given we must arrive early or we're punished like children. As I discussed this with the embarrassed employee in reception a woman in the waiting room chimed in and said "you should see how bad their reviews are" as she looked up from her phone with a distressed expression (no kidding). I'll look elsewhere for an office that isn't treating us like sheep. Oh, and I recall last time I saw Dr Naidu I had to wait about 15 minutes but I guess that's okay. Forget the value of my time as a business owner and a schedule of my own. I'm not rescheduling I'll move on to a kinder and more competent office and skip the conveyer belt.
