Came in with 1) torn extensor carpi radialis longus. 2) glass in wrist 3) fractured radius Hillary braced the fractured arm and removed the glass from the arm with the torn ECRL (extensor carpi radialis longus), operating right in the area of the torn ECRL without noticing that tear. The problem was presented with symptoms of weakness, visually apparent imbalance, instability, and a deep incision at where the ECRL was cut. Hillary misdiagnosed this injury as a torn TFCC. That misdiagnosis meant that my injury would go untreated. It's been seven years and now, a more skilled and observant doctor quickly diagnosed the problem, ordered an MRI which confirmed his suspicion. Now that the doctor has pointed it out to me, it seems quite obvious to me. This new doctor, however, does not want to repair the problem due to the age of the injury. He thinks it's too old. It should have been fixed years ago. I'm looking for a doctor who can fix it. I'm willing to do what it takes to recover from the surgery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJKsnWwMIp8 read more

You are in the best hands when your doctor is Dr. Hillary Redlin. She was so knowledgable and highly professional, and my experience with her and her office team was above and beyond expectations. After breaking my wrist and having to undergo surgery, she guided me through this difficult time with kindness, empathy and support. She was always there when I needed her and kept me informed and optimistic when I was afraid. Her expert surgery skills are beyond reproach. My wrist is now fully functional and the scar is barely noticeable. Her assistant, Emily, was the most helpful regarding disability and work related issues. She was very patient and kind throughout dealing with all of the forms she was asked to fill out. And to top it all off, her onsite hand therapist, Yaffa Meiner, is the BEST! She worked with me for 6 weeks making sure my wrist, hand and arm would be functioning as well as before. She supported me through many teary and worried moments and always made me feel supported. She was the kindest and most positive therapist, who made me believe in my abilities as we worked through the challenges. I am forever grateful for Dr. Redlin, Emily and Yaffa for taking such wonderful care of me. read more

My wife should really be writing this review because she's the one who broke her wrist which Hillary repaired. That said, I feel compelled to share how amazing it was to have Hillary as the surgeon. From the moment we met her, through the procedure and post visits, we felt like we were in the skilled hands of the best possible doctor. We simply can't imagine a better surgeon for this procedure and the care, communication and result is far beyond anything we ever expected. If you need a hand surgeon, look no further than Hillary, you'll be delighted, just as we were! read more

Outgoing Excellent Doctor. My Wife was having trouble with a Trigger Finger issue and Dr Redlin fixed it in a single office visit.6 Stars if I could. read more

She is amazing!!! Such a great doctor and such an easy process to get an appointment. Dr Redlin fixed my issues with my hand and fingers.

Had a trigger finger problem bothering me for 6 months or more- couldn't even do the simplest of things, like make a full fist or open a door by twisting. 3 quick appointments is all it took- Ari and Emilie her staff are super friendly, patient and return calls and emails. Her office hours are as the parking and access off the freeway. By 3rd appointment, I had an out patient surgery done, by the time I walked out 15 mins later, I am able to make fist. I'll be back to doing normal outdoor activities again. I highly recommend her, she's professional, friendly and funny, tells you how it is ... thanks Dr Redlin! read more

I hate to give five star reviews. It seems like there has to be SOMETHING that would take it down to a four. Not this time. I've had Dupuytren's contracture in both hands for years. Didn't want surgery and wasn't keen on XIAFLEX. Dr. Redlin did a simple release procedure with a needle and local anesthetic. Nice, straight hands and fingers in two visits with practically zero pain. I have a friend in AZ that got the whole surgery and he's jealous. Pain, PT and 6 (or more) weeks unable to use his hand. I'm on my computer for work all day every day. After my procedures, home and back to work (although typing is fun with bandages). So, about the front office . . . friendly, professional and on top of everything. Nothing but good things to say. Don't know how my visits could have been better. Highly recommend Dr. Redlin. read more

Dr. Redlin did surgery to remove a painful tumor on my finger in October 2019. She is caring, professional and took her time during my appointments to explain the surgery and what to expect afterward. It is 2 months post-surgery and I am amazed at how beautifully my incision has healed and I am pain free. I would give her 5.5 stars if I could. read more

I am working with Dr. Redlin to find out what the heck is going on with my thumb. Of course everyone in my life has been giving me advice but that does me no good, so I am glad I finally went to see Dr. Redlin. It seems like there are a few things going on and Dr. Redlin is addressing each of them. I am confident she is going to fix my thumb which is essential as my job requires me to work with my hands. Finding Dr. Redlin is a blessing. read more

Dr Redlin is a true professional. I have met with her multiple times with exceptional results. I highly recommend Dr. Redlin. read more

Before even considering a doctor's medical expertise, I have a few tests: Unreasonably late for an appointment without an apology or explanation: -10 Unreasonably late for an appointment with an explanation / apology: -5 On time (or close): 0 Introduction: "Hi xxxxxx, I'm doctor xxxxxx": - 10 "Hi Mr. xxxxxx, I'm doctor xxxxxx": 0 "Hi xxxxxx. I'm Hillary Redlin": +5 So Dr. Redlin started off with +5! She then listened carefully, examined me carefully, explained the options, recommended the most conservative option first and took as much time as necessary to answer questions. I have every confidence that her approach will deliver the best outcome possible. read more

Hillary is the best doctor I have ever worked with (and I've worked with dozens), period! Smart, very experienced, an amazing listener and problem solver, no ego (bringing in other doctors for second opinions etc), makes the time for patients and to understand their issues and goals, and an incredible surgeon. I had several finger surgeries with her over a number of years and afterwards she proactively helped me address a lingering shoulder issue even though it was outside her specialty. Thanks to Hillary, even that problem has been addressed. read more

I was diagnosed with scaphoid non union on my left wrist. I met a few doctors before I met Dr Redlin and when I met her I knew right away she is the one I am going with. Dr Redlin is very detail oriented and patient -- she will hear you out and your concerns and will respond to all your questions! I have a habit of asking many questions but not once I felt awkward. She is quite personable, smart and knowledgeable about her work. I definitely recommend Dr Redlin wrt to any wrist or hand issues / surgeries :-) read more

I saw Dr. Redlin for a repetitive stress injury that was causing me a lot of pain and I really liked her. She is compassionate and understanding and knows how to handle a patient's specific needs. I also like that she is open to both Eastern and Western medical approaches and will try different things to help her patient improve. Finally having a doc with a sense of humor when you're in pain is really a plus for me, so high marks for Dr. Redlin. Front office staff is friendly and competent as well, always a good thing. read more

Really good doctor, terrible billing department. I saw Dr. Redlin for elbow and thumb issues, and she was knowledgeable and helpful. But this is one of those practices where you will get multiple bills, including from doctors you didn't see, and you're never sure when they will stop coming. I paid one of these bills for a doctor I never saw (which the billing office clarified was some kind of "facility fee"), the billing department cashed it, and then they kept sending me bills for the same charge saying it had not been paid. This is still not resolved. Be wary! read more

Dr. Redlin is FANTASTIC and rare! She is very woke on auto immune diseases, and how to safely conduct a surgery keeping those things in mind. I have chronic Lyme disease, and MCAS. I've had difficult surgeries in the past, reacting to anesthesia and medications in addition to having my body produce too much scar tissue post surgery leading to long recover times. My surgery with Dr. Redlin was the smoothest I have ever had, and I am even healing WAY ahead of schedule! She listened to me, and actually heard me with my medical concerns and took safety precautions during surgery to ensure success with my Lyme and mast cell issues. I have had so many doctors not listen, or overlook those issues and Dr. Redlin validated me and took me seriously which I appreciated. She is a wonderful advocate and has had my back the entire time. She truly puts her patient first! I came in thinking I had a ganglion cyst at the base of my middle finger, which was misdiagnosed by a general physician years back. Dr. Redlin discovered it was actually a bone eating tumor and was starting to grow pretty aggressively. Dr. Redlin did a fantastic job thoroughly explaining her findings, and breaking them down so they were digestible and not overwhelming. She checked in to make sure I was following, and was able to do a live x-ray and show my hand in motion and where the damage was. She clearly explained her findings, and my options to treat it. She helped me digest the news, so I wasn't overwhelmed when leaving the appt (which no doctors ever do). I had surgery to remove the cartilage tumor on the base of my middle finger, and she took a bone graft from my wrist to fill in the hole. She did this as a safety precaution since some people with auto-immune disease can reject the cadaver filler. I was very pleased with her being so thoughtful to ensure my body would take the bone graft. She used a local nerve block so I wouldn't have to have general anesthesia since I have reacted in the past. I am 6 weeks post op now, and looking like I am 3 mos post op! Way ahead of schedule with healing. I had almost zero pain post surgery, and didn't have much swelling which is rare for me! The hand therapist she referred me to is also wonderful, and they have been impressed by Dr. Redlin's quality of work. She is truly a bad ass, and clearly loves and is passionate about what she does. She has an impressive background and experience with rare hand conditions, and thinks outside of the box. She never wants to jump straight to surgery, which I appreciate and takes into consideration your preferences and keeps finances in mind. It's difficult to find such a caring medical professional, and one with confidence and empathy who truly wants to help you and do what is right. She gets creative with her approach. I wish she could be my primary doctor too! Dr. Redlin has incredibly kind and caring staff too! Brenna at the front desk is WONDERFUL and such a ray of sunshine. She is very on top of it and always greets you with a smile. She has been flexible with my schedule, since I had to move my surgery around with my wedding and moving! It's rare to come into a doctor's office and feel happy and excited. I have never had to wait when I come in for my appt, and everyone is very genuine, caring, and passionate about what they do and it is truly so refreshing! THANK YOU to Dr. Redlin and her amazing team. I feel seen, supported, and am now healing because of you all. I am eternally grateful for you all. A++ GO TO DR. REDLIN, you will thank yourself later. :) read more

Dr. Redlin is the best hand surgeon! I have had both my left and right LRTI CMC thumb surgeries with Dr. Redlin at the Novato Surgery Center. She is very easy to talk to and explains the surgery and recovery in detail. Her excellent training from Stanford certainly pays off. I highly recommend her, as she goes over the recovery time and the OT involved afterwards. She also has a good sense of humor and bedside manner. read more

I heard very good things about Dr. Redlin and this is the reason I scheduled an appointment to see her. However, my experience this time with the receptionist Samantha and her supervisor Emily were just the opposite. I called today and let them know that I just tested positive for covid and not going to be make it to the appointment on June 2. I asked to reschedule for a later time. I was told Dr. Redlin is going on sabbatical in July. I asked if they can put me on waiting list, of course after I recover and pass two tests. They just wouldn't, find any sorts of excuses as silly as you have to make appointment after you recover from Covid. I waited for close to two months to get this appointment. The way they suggested is pure and simple, they want to deny me seeing Dr. Redline knowing she's going on sabbatical sometime in July. I just think these two receptionists, Samantha and Emily shouldn't be working in a doctor's office. They don't have any sympathy for the patient, probably just there to get a paycheck.... These two are just the worse receptionist I ever encountered and I went to many doctors' office. read more

I saw Dr. Redlin for an enchondroma in one of my fingers. The clinic was busy and the wait time was a bit long (ran about 30 minutes passed the schedule appointment), but I was happy with the actual consultation. She took the time to explain (and show on the x-ray) what is actually going on and the possible courses of treatment moving forward. She patiently answered my questions about risks of re-injury and was very professional. Definitely happy with my consultation and would come back if I have any future issues. read more

Two-year update: Dr. Redlin gave us excellent guidance regarding my husband's scaphoid non-union wrist injury and we are so grateful to her. We received multiple doctor's opinions and most suggested surgery and cast, which ended up not being the best option for us. We had a unique situation that called for a unique solution. Dr. Redlin stood out as an open-minded and original thinker who suggested waiting and leaned against surgery. She took the less invasive option and we trusted her advice. It turns out she was correct on her diagnosis and on how to handle it. We think her solid decisions helped preserve the flexibility, strength and use of his wrist. He's highly active and does horse-archery and this decision impacted the quality of his life significantly. He has no pain and is happily doing all the activities he loves so much. It's a reminder to get more then one opinion, and a happy confirmation there are honest doctors out there looking out for what is best for the patient. Thank you Dr. Redlin, we're so grateful to you! read more

Dr. Redlin is a professional, with an intellectual curiosity who takes the time and attention to problem solve. She truly is invested in the care and well-being of her patients with their current problem and in context with addressing potential long-term issues. Dr. Redlin was a second consult for our 17 year old athlete with a unusual nerve contusion requiring multiple diagnostic studies. Through her expertise and thoroughness, no stone was left unturned to determine if surgery would be necessary to remedy the situation. It wasn't, but the take-away was Dr. Redlin's interest and attentiveness. I couldn't recommend a medical professional higher. Tara, the front person in the office, was also very accommodating and very helpful throughout the process. read more

This was an wasteful and expensive consultation, so was her proposed treatment plan. It involved several unnecessary additional surgery, diagnostic appointment and she wouldn't agree to perform a simple, pain reduction procedure. I needed to schedule a second opinion appointment with another experienced hand surgeon. He immediately began treatment and confirmed that her medical treatment plan was inadequately in address my medical needs. And, as expected it only cost a fraction of hers. read more

In June of 2009, I was a police officer who was injured pretty bad while on duty. My knee was destroyed and required emergency surgery. Dr Redlin was my surgeon. I was able to continue working as a police officer and recovered very well. I am very grateful to have had such a great Dr help me through a very difficult time. I would like to say that it was one of my most major medical issues I've ever experienced, and yet the repair went very well. Dr Redlin did an amazing job. read more

I saw Dr Redlin for a biking related wrist injury which turned out to be a broken wrist with some minor ligament damage. She was extremely thorough in reviewing with me the x-ray and MRI results and detailing the different treatment options and recovery plan. Unlike so many Orthopedics, she was willing to take as much time as needed to answer all of my questions and make sure I was comfortable with the decisions and path forward. I have seen many different Orthopedic Surgeons for different sports related injuries (ankle, knee, shoulder) over the years and Dr. Redlin is hands down the most thorough and personable Doctor I have seen and I would highly recommend her. read more

Dr. Redlin is a fabulous doctor. She shows compassion and will take the conservative approach. I started out in so much pain. After her recommended treatments, I feel whole again. Other surgeons just wanted to operate right away. She is the best! Her assistant Laura is excellent. They make a great team. read more

I stood in the reception area in severe pain with a broken arm. I had been told to come in for an xray and evaluation with the doctor. When I arrived there was no xray machine and the receptionist told me that the doctor could not help me. I heard the doctor tell the receptionist to send me back and she would talk to me even though she could not do a proper evaluation. Without an xray, Hilary Redlin wanted to schedule me for surgery in 2 days. An operation with no xray? Unreal. I was charged an obscene amount for an informal 5 minute conversation. I went to an ethical doctor the next day who took proper care of my arm without any surgery at all. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COST. She has no interest in your well being and is only after your money. read more
