The experiences I had in 2011 and 2012 with another mortgage company made me very reluctant to ever get involved with real estate again. Nothing was smooth or easy and I never felt confident with whom I was dealing with. In 2013, I purchased an investment property and used Crowder Mortgage. The experience was nothing short of remarkable. Jim held my hand throughout the process and was always available to chat and explain what was going on, what he needed and why he needed it (sometimes our chats lasted over an hour!). Compared with the previous companies we used, who spoke on the phone with us for 20 minutes at most the entire time, this was a breath of fresh air. Jim is incredibly understanding, patient and compassionate, all of which are incredibly important qualities for a mortgage broker. The cherry on top? Jim actually came to the closing, even though the closing was an hour north of his office. Buying or refinancing a home is never easy or smooth, but Jim makes the process as painless as possible. I cannot recommend his services enough.

My point of contact in CA was kind enough to put me in touch with Jim Bonner and his fantastic team, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the end to end process. Jim took the time to understand our unique experience, explain differences in the lending and closing process between the two states, and respond exceptionally quickly when we needed items like an updated mortgage approval letter late on a Saturday. He kept in close contact at all time, and even made himself available by text for the speediest responses. When it came time to close, his team gave us all the necessary information, and made sure to answer any questions in real time. We closed on schedule, and for what is a large and complicated process, it couldn't have been easier or more painless. I have, and will continue to recommend Commerce Mortgage, and Jim Bonner, to anyone seeking a mortgage lender.

He was also very responsive when we needed to move quickly, and a pleasure to work with. We ended up using a different lender only because we had used them before and had gotten pre-qualified with them first, whereas we went to Calvin for a competitive quote once we were under contract. Calvin offered us exactly the same excellent terms as the other lender, and we would have gotten our loan from him without hesitation if we had not already started the process with someone else. Highly recommended!

This company told me multiple times over the course of the last 6 months that I was cleared to close on a refinance. After I submitted truckloads of documents that detailed my excellent credit and a down payment that well exceeds requirements, I'd hear *crickets* before they came back with a weak apology, and requesting even more information, assuring me that approval was right around the corner, and it never was. Eventually, Neat switched underwriters after several months for no apparent reason and asked me to resubmit and re-certify all my documents again. They then had the audacity to blame me for the loan not working out when I got exasperated! It's hands-down the most painful mortgage experience I've ever had, or even heard of. I've reported them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Steer well clear of this business.

A perfect storm hit in 2020 when mortgage rates hit record lows, and suddenly Neat's small and mighty team was hit with more volume than ever expected. Although Neat hired and trained new team members as quickly as possible, we weren't able to provide the same levels of service as we did for years previously. Eventually Neat caught up and the industry calmed down, as evidenced by our 5-star rating on Trustpilot. Super proud to be part of this organization, despite our 2020 growing pains!

We were moving to Boulder County from out of state, had a very specific set of criteria, and due to Covid were looking for our new home from afar. Angela was able to quickly get up to speed on our requirements, understand our aesthetic preferences, and never wasted a minute of our time. When we found the right home, she helped us negotiate, she made the process seamless (including FaceTime tours of the home), and we didn't ever feel like we were in the dark. If you want great communication, availability, solid negotiation, and a quick study, Angela is your agent.

We reached out to Angela in early January 2022 to discuss selling our Boulder home of 20+ years…read more She was extremely helpful in describing what the ensuing process would look like, and began providing expert advice on how we could maximize the sale. This advice included highly insightful information about the current (and changing) Boulder real estate market; potential best timing for listing the property in light of market conditions as well as historical seasonal supply and demand considerations; viewing comps and visiting similar properties to assist in setting a reasonable asking price; and touring our property with us and ultimately providing a list of suggested improvements that could be made to improve salability and maximize price (the list also included prioritization and discussion of cost-benefit of each improvement). Angela recommended her husband's company, Mendly, to oversee and manage the improvements that included major updates to the kitchen, fixing all kinds of little (and not so little!) problems that had been neglected over the years, and fresh coats of paint throughout the house. Mendly (and Ben Moss) deserve their own superlative review, but suffice it to say here, if Mendly is available to do needed work for you, don't even think twice about it! They are awesome. Angela also recommended a professional stager to help prepare the home for showing. Although we were somewhat dubious, we trusted her advice, and were so glad we did. The stager used a mix of our furnishings and furnishings they brought in to turn our home into something we wished we had done years before--it looked and felt so comfortable and inviting. Once everything was ready to show, Angela brought in a professional photographer, and worked with the expert 8Z team to prepare the marketing brochure and listing documents. In sum, Angela worked with us on developing a thoughtful strategy for approaching the sale of our home, and then executed that strategy exquisitely. In our case, we opened the home for viewings on a Thursday, and Angela accepted offers by 5pm that Sunday. We received a number of bids--all over the asking price--after which Angela then expertly navigated the negotiation process to get us to a final, accepted offer followed by the closing. There is absolutely no doubt that we would have been as successful were it not for all of the expert (and patient!) guidance from Angela. If you need a broker to help you buy or sell a property, I highly recommend Angela Moss and 8Z Real Estate. Shaun McGrath, Former Boulder Mayor and City Council Member

Instead of working with me or offering any reasonable solution, they refused to accept my late payments and demanded the full balance -- something that is simply impossible given today's economic conditions. On top of that, communication has been very poor. Many times the bank is closed, understaffed, or does not have proper personnel available to assist customers. It is very difficult to get clear answers or timely help when you need it the most. Right now, many financial institutions are working with their customers and offering options during these difficult times. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I was willing and ready to resolve my account, but no opportunity was given. I expected better customer service, communication, and understanding from a credit union that claims to support its members. I would not recommend this institution or do business with them based on my experience. I will also be supporting upcoming laws in the State of Colorado that aim to bring more fairness and accountability to repossession practices, as situations like this highlight the need for better consumer protections. I hope they improve how they treat customers facing temporary hardship, because situations like this only make things worse for people trying to do the right thing.

Daphne is extremely well-versed in every aspect of the Boulder real estate market and her wealth of knowledge was invaluable to us in buying our home. We were so pleased with her attitude and dedication. We are first time buyers and were guided the whole way through this hefty process with such care, professionalism and a good sense of humor. On top of that ,we just moved from New York City to Boulder and had little knowledge about the housing in Colorado. Daphne was sure to keep us informed. Daphne is very knowledgeable within Boulder County (We bought our house in Erie, CO. I am not sure if she is specialized in other counties in Colorado as well). She knows the home values for all neighborhoods. She told us where to find information about school districts, shopping and things to do online. She listened to what we want from our first home. The first time she took us to look at some real estates, she showed us different type of homes that we can afford in--different areas. We thought that was a brilliant strategy because it provided us a way to see variety of homes in various areas. She made the process seem like a piece of cake. She kept us informed, educated us on the process, and continues to follow up with us. She is extremely responsive to all our inquiries whether they are through emailing or text messaging. Once we made our decision, Daphne is quick to make sure we get it! She made things happen! Daphne was honest, real and selective. She would steer us away from properties she didn't think were up to snuff and would point out flaws we didn't even see. Kudos! If you want to be part of a winning team, you can with Daphne.
