We are a military family and move around a lot. I have had chiropractic care since we were…read morerear-ended by a double semi on the highway back in 1996. (See attached pic) Needless to say, in my 17 military moves, I have experienced many different chiropractors with many different techniques. We just moved to Cheboygan this past month with the Coast Guard, and I was in desperate need to be adjusted. After calling around to different chiropractors, Dr. Burt was the first one to answer, so I went in for my first adjustment. I have to say that Dr. Burt is an excellent chiropractor! I am always nervous to find a new chiropractor in an area, because I do not respond well to jarring, rough adjustments. "You don't need to turn on a light switch with a sledgehammer" one my favorite past chiropractors stated. It's true. Dr. Burt was not only attentive but extremely responsive. He listened to my needs and was kind yet firm in his manipulation. He is very strong but does not adjust in a manner which creates fear. As he said, "Let's build trust." Build trust he did! He was also patient enough to explain why he was doing what he was doing in his adjustments. He even took the time to stretch my neck before the adjustment, which doesn't happen in many chiropractor's offices. I usually ask to stretch myself while I am waiting to be adjusted. I cannot WAIT until my future adjustments with Dr. Burt. I have found my new chiropractor here in Cheboygan. The receptionist, (his wife, also a chiropractor) is friendly and attentive as well. I could not be happier with Straits area Chiropractic.

I have had to move a few times in my life and finding a new chiropractor has always been a nightmare! I am sorry to say that 6 out of 10 just don't work! It's not just the schooling, they have to have the knack!! I moved to Michigans UP 25 yrs ago and had alot of trouble finding someone! I tried 7 different chiropractors before I finally found one that worked for me. Unfortunately, he retired! I tried another one there in town and he simply did not work. I went to another out of town and he didn't work either! But I kept with him, for lack of another, when my Primary Care Doctor recommended Dr. Dom!! I am thankful every day she did!! At first I wasn't really sure about him LOL! But he sat down and explained to me exactly what was happening and how he was going to fix it! When I came out I said "Well, you talk the talk but do you walk the walk!" And he did!! I am a regular now and I am so thankful for him, he literally saved my back! I would recommend him to anyone!!
