On May 16, 2014 my daughter was referred to Dr. Rhoads for a root canal and crown (cap), whereas he determined she did not need a root canal. But it was determined that due to the co-pay (Insurance) that we would need to pay $460. May 19, 2014, she returned to his office for the temporary crown, I paid $229. May 20, 2014 she returned to his office because of pain due to the intern putting the temporary crown on backwards. May 21, she complained of discomfort due to pain. She called his office and was told to take over the counter pain meds. May 23 called his office numerous times finally she drove to his office only to find a sign on the door saying, "CLOSED UNTIL JUNE 2, 2014. There was no emergency/after hours number listed. Being that it was Memorial day weekend, she (my daughter) missed meals as well as wages due to the excruciating pain caused by the missed diagnosis of a much needed root canal. Finally May 25, she was in so much pain, We (my husband and I) took her to the Emergency Room, where she was given an injection because her blood pressure was elevated because of this pain. May 27, I called her regular/referring Dentist to get her checked out and ensure she didn't have any infection. The referring dentist determined she needed a root canal and referred her to another (#3) dentist who did do the root canal, which cost us another $110. On June 2, I called Dr. Rhoads office asking to speak with the office manager, who was non-chalet, unapologetic, uncaring, and inconsiderate. She the OFFICE MANAGER placed me on hold and the phone soon got disconnected. My daughter called minutes later and said that someone from Dr. Rhoads office called and said her crown was in, she was scheduled to come in on June 3 at 2. Once in the office she was serviced. After being serviced the receptionist expected payment of $231 and told my daughter that their company policy is for "payment to be made at time of service" I did not and do not plan to make that payment because of the fact that my insurance company statement says that I should only owe them $375 of which $229 has been paid which technically leaves a balance of $146. AND the fact that the service was poor all around the office should be sued and everyone that works there with a license should be revoked!
Sincerely a very PISSED-OFF PARENT read more
