There's a lot of tension and friction in the office throughout 2021. You really did seem like they were trying to upsell you for everything on dental care and devices. I practically got into a fight with their office manager because she had me on an expensive perio-care every 3 months. I'm like "why is.it that a dentist can mandates this kind of care and I don't have an option to refuse it or say I'll take that every 6 months. We found a compromise because I did get home care for every 4 months. And I think she got a lesson in patient chair side manner. That particular Hygienist/office manager is no longer there. Now, a year later they seem to be back in their groove and have some really terrific Hygienists. Van is new and she is informative and gentle. They do a really good job on crowns, take much pride in getting the colors to match. We've been going to this office for nearly 10 years. We seriously thought about changing in 2021 but after this last visit I'd say we will stick around for a while.

They never sent the confirmation text or email like they said they would, so I ended up taking more time out of my workday to call and confirm my appointment. I show up at 9:15 (15 minutes prior, as they recommend) and they seat me in a room at 9:35. I then sit there for 45 minutes waiting for the hygienist or at least someone to come and tell me that they were running behind. Nothing. I waited 5 more minutes (50 total) and then I got up and left. Won't be going back and will recommend that others never go in the first place.

Then at my follow up I addressed my concerns and what my dentist saw and treated in their follow-up care that Davenport dismissed. I developed a lisp after a deep scaling and after a week of it not improving is when I called and his reply was it had nothing to do with him, the lisp I got the day of my scaling and that had lasted. Come to find out the majority of my mouth and tongue still did not have feeling a week after and my dentist Prescribed a steroid pack for inflammation that helped a lot. However explaining the details of the events to Davenport was not received well, he apologized said I seemed angry and if I was angry maybe he should no longer see me. Well, I was not angry until then it felt once again dismissed and not validated. A simple I'm sorry I want to make sure in the future if there are complications we have better communication and we will see you. So I left in tears and my gums were not rechecked and poor patient care continued. I'm sure if you don't have complications you will get great care but if there is an issue his ego will stop you from being heard and have the proper patient care, he was quick to blame staff for not communicating what he really said, I believe the staff listed and cared and I do believe they told me what he said it was not a miscommunication, he just did not want to take ownership.

The cleaning was efficient and not rushed, with explanation of areas of the teeth that needed attention. My daughter and I had our teeth cleaned simultaneously. She enjoyed having a TV in front of her exam chair to keep her occupied. The staff made me feel so comfortable! After examining our teeth, we were told what procedures were needed, what insurance covered, and the out of pocket expenses. I also want to note, about 16 years ago my son needed sealants on his teeth and the cost where we lived was $50 per tooth. Sealants cost $66 at this location, not too bad, considering we paid $50, 16 years ago. Using our insurance was a breeze, and they printed a detailed invoice for medical reimbursement without me asking. They do not try to upsell you any additional products, unless you ask.
