Denise and her crew are amazing. They were so thorough and quick. They wiped the drywall, cleaned every surface/fridge , mirrors and AC unit to make sure every piece of dirt and dust was removed. After everything was thoroughly wiped down, they mopped and left the place spotless. I have two newborn baby girls and moving into a new place that was free of any post construction dust is critical to their immune system. They bring all the supplies plus a HEPA vacuum. Plus Denise and her team are so nice and very thorough... I would recommend them to anyone and especially if you have a post-construction cleanup need. read more

We've used Denton for both our home and office cleaning for several years now without any issues. All I can say is "WOW"! Denton was recommended to us by a VERY scrutinizing, "white glove type" friend. We pride ourselves on maintaining a pretty immaculate residence. After the Denton team scoured our place from top to bottom and showed us exactly what our regular cleaning service had missed, we were, to say the least, stunned! My wife and I were in awe of Denton! If you want to live in the cleanest possible place, call Denton NOW! read more

1st time using a cleaning service, expected better service that was not received..poor communication once the job was completed to receive invoice after several attempts. Increased price before cleaning took place but job done did not reflect it. Did offer to resend someone but I was done with the experience of the initial visit. read more

I was stuck in New York for the holidays and needed a quick cleaning of the Airbnb and this girls came in and quickly transformed the apartment into a comfortable space for me. I work off site and I need a clean space to work in. The team worked quietly and patiently waited for me to get off the phone to resume their vacuuming. Denise, was awesome on the phone and let me know the ETA which is very important to me. read more

I highly recommend Denton Cleaning. The cleaning team was prompt, efficient, hard working and did a remarkable cleaning job. It is a professional, high quality and trustworthy company that is locally operated and takes great pride in its work. I hired Denton Cleaning for a challenging residential cleaning job which required some up front planning. From the start Denise assessed what was needed to be done and recommended the most efficient way to accomplish it. And accomplish it she did. I give her very high marks, and I am someone who is highly demanding and critical. If you are looking for someone who you can trust to get the job done, and to do it right, then Denton Cleaning is for you. read more

I've used Denton Cleaning for monthly office cleaning for my mid-size office in SoHo and for home cleanings at my home in Brooklyn. They have never let me down. I'm always delighted to return to the office or home after they clean. They're meticulous and thorough and her rates are reasonable and competitive. I prefer to establish a relationship with the people who come into my home or office vs. using a service like Handy which always sends someone new and you never really know what you're going to get. I can't recommend Denton highly enough. read more

First time using a cleaning service...this for a post-renovation going over in an unoccupied new apartment. I had high hopes as it seemed like Denise knew the in's and out's of products, arrangements, etc. I could see that she had trouble following up in a timely way with communication, even to arrange the appointment, but I was eager to give an opportunity to a woman-run business. Reluctant though I was to give my credit card info. Prior to receiving service, I did and paid a the requested deposit based on an estimated time (6 hours, two people). The job took about 2 hours. When I finally got the invoice, I could not get an accounting of the time from Denise, even three weeks later. After many e-mails to her requesting this, she sent me back a rude e-mail saying that she does not provide such information. My Master Card was charged over $500 and no specifics on the time clocked in and out! I hoped to have Denton Cleaning clean the apartment I am moving out of and had told Denise that early on. Very poor business person. Finally, reported it all to Master Card, who has notified her....no response so far. So, I agree with the reviewer who gave three stars....I give less...what a shame! read more

I have been a customer of Denton cleaning for over a year for housecleaning services. Although they started out as a great company, in the past few months they have become irresponsible and non-responsive. Three major concerns I brought up over the summer/fall: 1. Sudden schedule changes day-of cleaning and no-shows: I scheduled cleanings in the AM and early afternoon when my husband and I were at work. In the last few cleanings, I received emails or voicemails after 5 PM that stated that the cleaning company never went to the house as planned, and that they could come and clean the house from 5:30-7:30 PM. On these occasions, my husband arrived home and needed to turn around and go hang out at a local coffee shop for hours until the cleaning was finished. When I brought this concern to Denise, she mentioned that the cleaners are from Manhattan, and will finish Manhattan cleaning as a priority, and they have insufficient help in Brooklyn. On a separate occasion, I was alerted the morning of that the company would not be able to send a cleaner to my house because of a family emergency, and they did not have a substitute cleaner. Each incident separately would have been understandable, but altogether indicate serious issues in planning, staffing, and customer service. 2. Failure to respond to communication and attempts to confirm cleanings and no-shows: I would attempt to schedule cleanings, and in the final cleanings, would receive email confirmation of cleaning at 9 PM the night before, which did not allow me time to prepare for the house cleaning. When I wrote expressing the concerns above, I did not receive a confirmation of receipt or response to my concerns. And then poor and last minute communication turned into an ABSENCE of communication. We had scheduled a VERY important house cleaning on September 19th, 2012, which Denise confirmed via email several weeks before. We were having a house study for adopting a child. We attempted to confirm the cleaning the day before, and did not hear back from Denton. When the day came, they did not come, and my husband and I came home to a dirty house that we needed to frantically clean, as the adoption team was arriving within an hour. Thank goodness for friends who all ran over and helped us clean! This was the final straw, and I have terminated service with this company. 3. Admitted lapses in bookkeeping: Denton would often not be on top of their bookkeeping and charge for the session same day or even same week. They missed charging for 3 sessions in a row (6 week span of time) and put through a lump sum charge for almost 500 dollars without clearing it with my husband and I. When you are looking for a cleaning company, you need someone who is going to be reliable and responsive. Denton cleaning has fallen off to the wayside, so I would definitely suggest using a more professional and organized cleaning company. We will. read more

Denise and company are always easy to work with and all of the cleaners do an excellent job consistently. Highly recommended!

Update 12/18/17: After nearly six years of working with Denise and Denton Cleaning, we no longer have Denton cleaning our home. In April 2017, several pieces of estate jewelry were stolen from my home: a diamond and ruby ring, over 100 years old; my grandmother's sterling silver charm bracelet with all of her grandchildren's names and birthdates engraved on charms; a Tiffany & Co. silver necklace; and absolutely everything that was my mother's. The jewelry had been given to me by my recently deceased mother, who died six months before they were all stolen. We made a police report. Coincidentally, Denton had been cleaning the day before the jewelry was reported stolen. Denise expressed shock, condolences and concern. She however, did not choose to answer questions from the police detective assigned to the case and referred her attorney. Every member of my family and persons living in my household were interviewed by the police. Fingerprinting revealed smudges from person(s) who wore gloves, on the inside of our master bedroom cabinet, where the jewelry had been stored, and where no cleaning supplies were). We were at a standstill with the investigation. I was in mourning with my mother's death and the loss of her jewelry, along with my grandmother's, and great-grandmother's jewelry, paralyzed me. The case was closed. I got a call from a different Brooklyn police precinct from ours, three months later, in July 2017, wherein the detective informed me that Denton had been named in a recent case where jewelry had been stolen from another of their client's homes. Again, Denise referred her attorney. To date, and to my knowledge as of this post, none of the cleaners who were in our home were ever interviewed by the police because Denise refused to provide information. In conclusion, I do not recommend Denton Cleaning to anyone and advise extreme caution when using their services. Denise claims her attorney is for her clients, which is actually for her business and any liability connected to a case like mine. She and the cleaner she "let go" in this case appear, in my opinion, to care less. Don't take chances with Denton. It's not worth it. read more

Had an awful experience. Called and made an appointment, even gave my credit card to hold the reservation. Then called right back (not even 5 minutes after the initial reservation was made) to see if we could move the date to the day prior to the original reservation - the woman made a note in the system and told me that someone would call me back to confirm. No one EVER called. Myself and my husband had to call numerous times, was told that they never confirmed that the date was moved to Tuesday, then they didn't even honor the original reservation when asked if we would be okay with keeping it as the original reservation.. Very disappointed as they received such great reviews on here, which is what made me contact them in the first place. read more
