I called Grace after getting her contact info from an online personalized search engine and thoroughly explained my tax situation to her. I answered all her questions about deductions & other details then expressly asked Grace what date and time would be best for her and we made a firm appointment for this morning. I arranged to take the day off and drove to her office to arrive on time. Not only was Grace NOT present, but her office door was locked so that I couldn't even go in and wait. I think she is a solo-practitioner because there was also no receptionist present, just a main entrance leading from the shared parking lot to her (locked) door. We all understand emergencies come up, but Grace could have called or texted me the night before or even in the morning. Our appointment wasn't until 10:30AM--she had plenty of time to reschedule. Instead, she ignored my phone calls alerting her that I was outside her office waiting for our confirmed appointment. This kind of unprofessionalism and flagrant disrespect of others' schedules is egregious, but it likely indicates how Grace runs her business so I'm glad I can now contract with a real professional elsewhere to do my taxes.
