Eh ! A little small town feel to this bank. I have a mortgage through them . I attempted to pay ahead on my mortgage, only to find they applied it a very convoluted way. I'm still not sure what they did. read more

If you like ridiculous bank practices that hold your checks for over a week at a time "for your protection" and leave you hanging in the wind with no explanation, then, please, go to this backwoods bank. I've never had so many issues with one bank in my life. It seems 1980's pre-technology or something. Their ATMs are all either out of service or so slow that it's like a Flintstone's dinosaur is inside it doing the transactions instead of a computer. Phelps County Bank is hands down the worst bank in the country. Their app never lines up with your transaction, always listing off the incorrect date for when you did something with your money. Now perhaps it could just be their computers taking a day to properly record whatever you did, but that's never been a problem for me from other banks. Also, their Overdraft fees are total nonsense. I recently transferred $35 from my Savings to my Checking to cover a recent purchase I made, only for the geniuses that be at PCB to take away $30 as the Overdraft fee. Nice. When I called them to ask them to give it back, they did admittedly return my money, but not without jerking me around on the phone. The Overdraft fee, according to their website, should only be activated when you've taken too much money out of your account. Yet when it comes to me, they seem to apply this fee just for the fun of it. Screwing with me is how these guys get their sick kick. For the record, I've never been charged such a fee at other banks. Oh, and let's not forget how their ATM's take out a fee from your paycheck whenever you attempt to deposit it. Hey jerks, that's MY money, why are you taking it from me? The way they always phrase it, it sounds like they need to pay their ATMs. What, are they hoping to send their little ATM children through college? So no, I do not recommend using PCB. I'd tell you which other bank to use, but sadly there isn't a lot of other banks in the local Rolla area. No doubt just keeping your money in a piggy bank would be more beneficial to you, your financial situation, as well as your sanity. read more

I had a checking account with PCB for approximately 8 years. I then moved to a different town and had trouble accessing my funds, depositing checks, etc. I closed my account in 2020, shortly after I received my first Coronavirus relief check directly deposited into my PCB account. Without knowing there would be a 2nd round of Coronavirus checks sent out. When I found out there was going to be a second round of checks sent out, I immediately called PCB and asked if there was ANY possible way to receive my direct deposit from the IRS. I asked if I could reopen my account or have a paper check sent to me from the bank. They were completely rude to me and told me I was out of luck, that they were rejecting my Coronavirus check back to the IRS and that I would have no choice but to take it up with the IRS. I am completely mind blown that a bank that is supposed to be so involved in caring about the community would not assist me during a PANDEMIC. This isn't a tax refund or a paycheck being directly deposited. It is a PANDEMIC relief check for crying out loud. This goes to show that I made the right decision in closing my bank account with PCB. They have TERRIBLE customer service and made it very clear that during these hard times, they do not care about those in the community who could actually be struggling due to the Coronavirus. If I could give them a -5 star rating, I would! I hope someone who is considering banking with PCB sees this and makes the wise decision to bank elsewhere. read more

i usually have good service with PCB. but trying to close my fathers account after he passed was just horrible. one of the girls (Cindy- I think, not sure) asked me for proof that my fathers ex girlfriend had passed also, since she was named on the account too. I told her that i didn't think I had any proof, but I did actually still have her ashes if that'd work for her. this is what I said to her exactly. when I came in with paperwork a few days later, this girl takes me to her office. first thing she said was she didn't appreciate being threatened with ashes being thrown on her. she said I told her that I would come down their & throw ashes on her. i tried to tell her I didn't say that, even told her boss. didn't matter, they believed her. I was stunned, I've never in my life ever threatened a girl. She misunderstood our conversation & when she saw me, she was rude & hateful right from jump. if she thought I threatened her,why start our 2nd conv by bringing up the negativity from the last. I had no idea that she's the girl I talked to earlier or that she thought that's what I said to her. but this is who PCB has dealing with customers & this is how they treat a 20year customer just a week after my father dies. I lost my brother in Aug & my dad in Oct. Thanks PCB for ur compassion for a horrible 2022! read more

They are unfailingly courteous and obliging, and having the three branches within a few miles makes it very convenient. Called on a Wednesday to inquire about a loan, they said I needed an appraiser to come out and evaluate my estate. I told them I'm a Usda breeder of dogs. And I only have dogs, I was told by Kenny that's fine get them appraised and we can start moving forward. Three or four days pass and I try to contact PCB and you guessed it they won't answer my calls or they won't return my voice mails either. So I show up and get Ben (one fry short of a happy meal) and hand him all the documentation they requested and asked for. They made me jump through hoops wait a week and jerked me around between several people. But this is the kicker, as soon as I get there they say "oh dogs are worthless" I say do you take cattle? "Yes, because you can tag a cow, you can take it to Salem and get rid of it, there is a market for cows" At this point I just think I'm trying to clear ignorance, but the level that's embedded into this establishment can't be cured. Dogs are considered live stock by Usda and Mo state and are required to be tagged, the only people that don't account for them is Phelps county bank. You take dogs to neosho and get rid of them, and there is a market for dogs as well. So every excuse he gave me was not a valid reason this is when I decided to leave the meeting. I forgot my keys, when I return I find four of them gossiping about me in his office like it's standard operating procedure. The lady in the office said its not proper to be/get upset. " lady what's not proper is to blatantly lie to some one" I stormed off for the second time, trying to leave before things get really bad. I make it to the stairs just to be chased down by good ole Ben, this is where he finally gets to assert dominance over his clients and belittle them. " since your not happy here I closed out your account and a check will be in the mail" PCB LIED to me PCB cheated and stole from me PCB is not a company built on ethics, scam and slam they want their money. They have been trained to mislead and to take, you have been warned. read more

The only good thing about Phelps County Bank is they give you a gift when you open an account. I have had an account with them for over 3 years. I had $24 in my account for quite a while, and logged in yesterday to see it all gone, and the balance was $0. I checked to see that I was charged a service fee of $5 every month. I mailed customer service about this. I got an email that they had replied, and I should log in to my account to check the message. But I was unable to log in. When I mailed them back from my email address, they told me that my online account was closed (closed after I asked them why my account balance was $0). I asked them about the service charges and they said since I haven't made any transactions in the last 18 months, they were charging this. That is rubbish according to me, and they refused to return me my money which I thought would be safe with them. read more
