I spent $1600 at this store in a period of 3ish months. My experience has been awful. The owner was lovely. Unfortunately she leaves a lot of customer service to her daughter Ginger. My 1st interaction with Ginger included her making unwanted comments about my cousins body. Shame on you Ginger. Being a woman in this day & age you should know better. 2nd interaction I was trying to color match and asked Ginger to bring out her color swatch which the owner had originally used to help me with. She acted stupid like she had no idea what I was talking about & when I mentioned the owner had brought it out before she then went to grab it. While doing so I over heard her insinuate I was going to steal it. I continued to try & give her the benefit of doubt. Picked up my 2nd purchase only to find it was faulty with hair falling out by touch. The owner indicated she would replace it. After 3 weeks and 3 phone calls inquiring on status, Ginger calls back & lets me know nothing was ever ordered unbeknownst to me. Instead of standing behind the product she sells she tried to make me provide additional information which had already been provided to the owner. After explaining I will dispute the transaction because this should be a problem between the store and manufacturer, Ginger called back within 5 minutes, saying my order would be at the store the following Tuesday. Clearly she was not being honest with me. This store has bible literature across the store but Ginger certainly does not act with empathy or respect. It's a traumatic enough experience to go through alone but to be met with such disgusting behavior is sad. Do not recommend this store read more

My mom is going through chemo and losing her hair so I drove her down from Traverse City. We've have no experience with wigs and had no idea what to expect. We had an appointment and met with Jean (hope I spelled it right) who was incredibly helpful, kind, and caring. I am completely impressed with the wig we ended up going with and the overall experience. Our experience at Breton was a bright spot in an extremely challenging time and if anyone is in a similar situation I recommend going there and trying them on, it's pretty amazing how real they look. read more

I purchased 3 wigs today from Jean and Ginger. They were so kind and welcoming. I have worn wigs for 14 years. I was so impressed with the service at BDW. They have a large selection to choose from. They were so knowledgeable and professional. Jean cut and styled one of my wigs while I was there. She is a true artist in hair design. I will buy all my wigs there from now on. I drove from Jackson and the drive was really worth it. My wigs are so natural looking and comfortable. I will definitely be going back! I highly recommend them! read more

I could not disagree more with the previous reviews. I am going through chemo and have lost virtually all of my hair. My daughter in law and went into the shop not knowing what to expect. I went to their shop a couple of years ago and there was a sign on the door, gone to lunch will return shortly. We waited almost 45 minutes before they came back(2 employees) they proceeded to eat their lunch once they came back and were not apologetic for the inconvenience. They were not interested in waiting on us but more concerned with eating their food. Terrible customer service. Last week, I went back to their shop with my sister and mother. Both employees were with 1 customer while the 3 of us looked for wigs. We were in the store probably 30-45 minutes and neither employee acknowledged us or offered to help us. We finally left the store because no one would wait on us. Second time, again TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! read more

Nice selection of wigs. Horrible service once you've spent the money. We were assured that my mom could come back any time to have her wig trimmed so she purchased two; one of which she knew needed to be styled to suit her. We struggled to even get an appointment before her chemo started, and then she was stood up not once, but twice. The first time she left in tears because she had dragged herself there the day after chemo. The woman working there said she was sorry but she strangely put it back on my mom because they didn't have her phone number written down. Yesterday was the second time it happened. The same woman was sorry again, but smugly stated we were there the wrong day, (which we weren't - they had written down the wrong day and time) and fumbled through several excuses, refusing to put us in contact with the manager/owner/stylist (we weren't sure who was who by the time we were done with the conversation). All we could do is ask that someone contact my mom, but as of now, 24 hours later, no one has called and nothing has been done to right this wrong. When it's your job to provide a life changing service to cancer patients, this is definitely not the way to do it. There is an amazing wig store in Holland with kind, accommodating people. I suggest you make the drive and save yourself some time and disappointment. Update: Mom called the day of the wrong day appointment to confirm she was guaranteed a stylist, and she said she missed her appointment. The woman had given us the wrong time. Unbelievable. Rescheduled for that same day WITH the actual stylist, went in, she was there, and did a great job for what it's worth. Still haven't heard from the owner or manager. read more

Nice selection of wigs, their stylist is the pits, and they do not stand behind her work. I am new to wigs, I wanted a stacked appearance in the back. "Jean" told me she could do this, and after she put the wig on she took the bottom 'hair' and cut right across the bottom.. then took the wig off and into the back room and worked on it some more...I have been told since that the wig needs to be on your head to style properly. I was advised to take it back and ask for a replacement, as it was so short in the back my other hair was showing. When I went back they said they couldn't do anything for me, as their sign said " No Returns". Well I get that, but when the stylist ruins the wig that is a different story. I asked who the owner was, she told me the name but she said she was out of town and in meetings... I asked for her email address, and I was told she didn't know it...at that point she gave me a phone number, but I did not realize it was incomplete until I went to dial it. I called back when I noticed it and she told me she could not give me her phone number, She said all I could do was to bring the wig back in to the stylist!! It was already so short in the back, so what was she going to do? grow hair on it? I left MY number and have yet to hear from the owner. If you should happen to buy one of their wigs, take it to a stylist that can do it right...my wig cost me $171.00 read more

I was in need of a good quality wig with realistic appearance and concerned because this was an investment and impacted my quality of life due to thinning hair and so I wanted a high quality human hair wig. A friend of mine recommended Breton as she had a very positive experience there. Breton was accommodating with privacy as I tried on many different wigs to find the style that suited me. I recommend making an appointment and taking your time. I must have tried on at least a dozen wigs. That day, I did find the one for me and I am very happy with it. I prefer the human hair over the synthetic wigs from what I tried. The price is more for the real hair, but worth it and this one fits and feels like my own hair, styling it, letting it blow in the breeze and even running my fingers through it. For what it is worth, the design of this wig is a hand tied front with a lace cap. The hairline conceals very nicely. I care for it myself and Breton was helpful over the phone as I checked to make sure I was using the recommended shampoo and conditioner, I like being independent with things, but careful with my investment. Redken color safe and happy with the quality and the scent. Breton does have a shampoo service for wigs and seems reasonably priced. Again just me, I like to feel more like I am washing my own hair! I recommend Breton and would return in the future for my next wig someday. read more

I bought a wig when I wasn't feeling well and wanted to get home soon. I tried the wig on again at home and realized it was really, really fuzz & in awful shape. It was also very stretched out and much larger than any wig I ever tried on or bought. I decided I really needed a professional to cut it for me to see if it was salvageable. I brought the wig back to Breton Wigs and asked the woman how old she thought the wig was - she said, "at least two years old". I told her I just bought it here and she was very surprised. I asked if they ever sell used wigs or wigs that may have just been used in a play or something like that. She said no, but she was not the owner. Even after she trimmed the wig for me, it looked horrible. It was still very frizzy all over and the hair just did not look right. I asked if I could have my money back, but their policy is once you buy it, you can't return it. I am positive that wig was worn by someone. I have never seen a wig in such horrible shape. It looked like someone wore it a lot and then threw it on their closet floor. No one would wear it now, so I wasted a lot of money buying it. A lot of their wigs look very cheap at Breton Wigs. I would never go back there and thought I should warn others. read more
