We'd let go of our State Farm auto insurance while keeping the property policy in going overseas…read morefor an extended period with no end date. In returning to the United States, we sought to renew an auto policy, add a new auto policy, and learn about the business endorsement on a personal auto policy. Unfortunately, Brandon Mclain, our apparent contact point at Kevin Bohlig's State Farm agency: 1/ became particularly vague and impatient on the phone call when we sought clarity regarding the usage requirements of a business endorsement, 2/ sent quotes for the two auto policies after the phone call, with no additional numbers or information regarding the business endorsement option that we'd continually requested to consider. We emailed a response restating the four questions we'd attempted to cover over the phone - numerically listed to ensure that none would be overlooked. Even then, Brandon managed to directly ignore half of our questions while asking exactly one question as his response to the other two questions, offering no additional information or clarity whatsoever, and 3/ has not responded in the five days since receiving our response to that one question. We've now lost half of the 10 days of leeway to register a car purchase in the state of Minnesota without penalty in waiting on Brandon. I thank this experience for serving as the catalyst that led to our consideration of and decision to now shop for a new State Farm agency. State Farm has won our trust given the company's treatment of two incidents last year - one car caught on fire as we were driving, for instance. Unfortunately, this State Farm agency has lost our trust in its professionalism, so it's time for us to start a new long-term relationship with another State Farm agency that offers us the communication, clarity, and respect of its clients' time and needs that we expected to find at Kevin Bohlig's State Farm agency. Janice Volk, however, is an absolute gem. I wish her private office came with a window - her cheery energy deserves to shine in a brighter environment.

I really like NYLife but they're going to have to do a BIG SWEEP over their offices in ALL states…read morebecause this is what happened to us in one of their states. And, first, here are the repercussions they have caused. We went to them to protect our assets for our kids. We wanted a LTC policy so our kids wouldn't lose all we've built to pass on to them. One bad result is NOW, as we cancel the policies we took out because of unethical practices on their rep's part, my husband is afraid to try again, leaving NOW our kids unprotected from losing everything to some facility. Here's what happened: We walked in, made it clear we only wanted to cover one of us because we couldn't afford to cover both. She convinced us that $398/mo would cover both of us with $5,000/mo for five years. Over and over, we made it clear that we understood that $398/mo would cover both of us and asked if that was correct? Then, we got approved and expected over $600 to come out of the bank one time after the approval to catch everything up; then it would go back to the monthly cost we expected. OVER $1,200.00 came out of our account (!) and they were going to take the monthly three-hundred-something TWICE each month! She tricked us and hoped we'd decide to just keep it instead of all the trouble we now have to go through to, once again, try to protect our children from losing all we've built. AND, we almost went overdrawn in our checking account because we expected and prepared for $600 to come out to catch us up and then go from there, but TWICE THAT WAS TAKEN! And you KNOW how she is going to try to skate by this and act as if WE didn't understand. Oh no, she understood full well what we were saying (I am completely literate, thank you) and expecting but hoped we wouldn't bother to go to all the trouble this is now causing us. Who has $1,200 extra dollars when they made it perfectly clear they didn't even have the $400 extra in their monthly budget???
