I had a lot of staff check in with me too, make sure I was doing okay and had what I needed. This is going to sound insane, but I had no dietary restrictions, was encouraged to stay hydrated and eat 3 meals, and even offered snacks, its like they knew I'd be too afraid to ask. Weight management was presented as fully optional and something for after discharge, and I could think about it as well, I didn't even have to decide right away. For he first the ever, I didn't have to lose weight to receive quality healthcare. I'm just so eternally greatful that I finally was viewed as a human and not a disgusting slob for once in my life.

The scheduling staff is fantastic! It's not only their friendliness, they truly work with you and try to get you an appt as soon as possible. Professionalism at it's finest, yet caring and compassionate. The techs doing the testing on your eyes are also professional and friendly, and they all seem to enjoy their job, which passes onto you a feeling of coziness. And Dr. Gentsler.....I cannot express strongly enough how wonderful this woman is to her patients!! I have sent 3 friends/family to her after I had my first appt with her. (and I just recommended her to my book club ladies last night). These were people headed to KC for eye appts and I told them about my experience with Dr. Gentsler and her staff. They all have fallen in love with her just as I have. You will not find a more caring doctor, EVER! She is so gentle and you feel like you're the only person she is seeing as a patient. Her results....well it's as good as it gets, she knows exactly what she is doing and will recommend what options are best for you. I am 2 weeks out from my 2nd eye lens transplant and I no longer need contacts or readers!! It was the easiest and least anxiety I've ever had with a medical procedure, a piece of cake!
