He sang a song or 2 along the way but he couldn't answer any of the questions asked and barely spoke. He dropped us at stops going in blindly. He was an older gentleman, so I understand the low energy but perhaps time to hang up his hat. As first timers to Ireland, I chose the Dark Hedges/Giants Causeway/Belfast tour because I was infatuated by photos of the Dark Hedges I saw online. I had no idea it looked NOTHING like it. It was really a waste of a stop. Giants Causeway was nice.. great photo op. It's a long walk downhill, then back up. Luckily, there was a bus that operates both ways for £1 (tap cards accepted ). We heard there was opihi in Belfast and found some along the way (we're from Hawaii). Super windy that day so we were getting flown all over the rocks. Only stop on the tour that was worth it. Next stop, Belfast City Centre. The tour guy dropped us off near City Hall with absolutely no direction. He told us about a mall nearby, but that's it. Anything worth seeing was already closed. I really wished he would've gave us more recommendations about what to do, where to eat, or anything worth seeing in the short amount of time we had there. After walking around City Hall, we walked to the mall to use the bathroom, stopped at a souvenir shop, then headed back. Total waste of time, again. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND! Sadiy, I purchased the tickets for this tour after the price had gone up about €10 from their 2025 prices. Tour was also supposed to end at 8pm but we got back by 7pm because he kept rushing us. Leaving early from stops. Felt rushed the whole time. I feel it was a total waste of money that could've been used elsewhere.

On the way, we had some bus trouble, which was unfortunate, but I will certainly not blame that on Irish Day Tours. In fact, I want to give them praise for the driver's attentiveness, making sure the passengers were safe, and the company being expedient in getting a new bus out to accommodate the rest of the tour. The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most beautiful sights I have ever laid my eyes on and we were blessed with great weather on this particular day. Sunny and not too windy (our visit was at the end of February but not sure how typical this is for that time of year). I believe we were allotted 1.5-2 hours at the Cliffs which we enjoyed every minute of. The stop in Doolin for lunch was charming and I was impressed with how quickly they were able to serve us. Unfortunately, we were not able to experience Galway on our tour due to the technical difficulties but I appreciate them being mindful of the schedule. I want to give particular praise to our driver and guide Kevin, who was absolutely fantastic in not only getting us there and back safely but is full of fascinating information on Ireland's history. As we continued to learn about Ireland over the course of the rest of our trip, I found myself wanting to ask Kevin his opinion on many topics. Thank you Kevin and IDT!

The bus drives erratically along winding roads, swinging horribly. At least 2 people on our tour were vomiting at their seats. It does stop at least every 1.5 hours for bathroom breaks but the stops are short, you do not get to experience anything at these stops except for one mediocre restaurant that is chosen for everyone for lunch. The cliffs are usually cloudy/windy/rainy anyway. Definitely not worth it. The driver was nice enough and gave some information while driving, that is the only positive feedback I can give.

We stayed an extra night in Dublin JUST for this tour because we are crazy GoT fans. Mind you it…read morewas St Patrick's Day weekend and hotels were outrageously expensive. You meet in the morning at Hilton Garden Inn and off we drive 2 hours to Northern Ireland. Robbie was our guide and he made us laugh a lot despite the terrible rainy weather. He was an extra on GoT and died 7x, and he got to live and tell us all about it. We visited many amazing and beautiful locations from S1 and S2 while walking close to 8 miles in the cold and rain. Do not wear your pretty shoes here because it was a muddy day for us. We started out at Tollymore Forest, visited Winterfell, and ended the day at Inch Abbey where Robb Stark was pledged King of the North. Because of the awful weather, the Inch Abbey was the only spot we got to wear the cloaks and play with all the props. This made me a bit bummed when I saw the gallery online and other groups got so many nice pictures in their cloaks throughout the tour. Our group only got ONE group photo together. *sad face* Alas, we will just have to visit Ireland again and perhaps take the tour from Belfast next time.

I was FLOORED by how great this tour was!!! Our guide was outstanding, and he led us on an exploration of cinematic greatness. We learned all about how the scenes were created to form the GOT world. This is a great pier to walk along because its less used than the east pier, there are no people to pass out or children running around (sometimes you think the kids on the other pier are going to run off the edgeinto the freezing water, where are their parents!) and everyone on the pier seems to be down with the serious business of getting to the end of the pier and back again. yes the ground is alot more uneven on this pier and yes teddys icecream is further away (even desirable on a day like today) and finally yes there is no cool weather station to look at but i think that this is the pier to be on if your up for a proper walk with a friend or if you want to be alone with your thoughts!

The maps are super useful for navigating the city and the pickup and drop off spots are well located and marked, making it easy to utilize from one end of the city to the other without issue. The maps/tickets also feature several deals for local restaurants and pubs. Many of the deals are two-for-one dining, which is great! The tickets are usually good for 48 hours, so you can hop on and off as many times as you want between 9a - 5p, which is the hours they operate. The drivers make a huge impact to enjoyment. We got lucky majority of our rides, but we did get a grumpy driver which was a slight detractor from one of our trips, but the good and fun ones made it worth it. Overall, I highly recommend utilizing the hop on/hop off during your time in Dublin, at least one day. It gives you flexibility while still providing guidance and easy transport.

On your visit, you will meet a Viking coin minter, a medieval cook, an archer or barber surgeon, depending on whose day off it is. Some else dressed in a doublet will show you around and give you the skinny on Dalkey's famous residents. After the tour is finished, you are free to climb to the battlements for panoramic views of surrounding sea and mountains, and a cathartic giggle. It's only about five minutes from the DART and it's a good option if you have restless children and a spare six quid.
