When I went back to get the permanent crown I found out the tooth I was complaining about is the one that put the temporary crown on. Even though the temporary crown was so jagged I thought they had worked on the tooth in front of it and the temporary crown the one that was jagged was a broken tooth behind it that they broke while doing the temporary crown. However when I went back to get the permanent crown I was told it was that tooth so it absolutely was extremely painful when they put in the permanent crown the dentist told me teeth were different that it would calm down. He asked me in the beginning if I wanted Novocaine. I have had two other crowns had never needed Novocaine while they were putting on the permanent crown. Only while they were doing the prep for the temporary crown would you get Novocaine. In any case it absolutely kills as they did the permanent crown it did calm down but at this point the tooth still hurts I wake up in the middle of the night with a pounding headache and the side of my face is swollen I wake up in the morning with a pounding headache anytime I eat or drink I get a nice zing to that tooth that absolutely kills. Now I don't know what to do because I've paid $1848 for the crown when originally they told me it was 1500! And now I have to either get the tooth ripped out of my head via oral surgeon for $800. Or go and get another crown for another $1,800. Because I would never step foot in this office again I've seen both dentists there because the first dentist who did the temporary crown couldn't even put it on he had to have the assistant do it he tried twice and then finally had her do it. So I told the woman at the front desk that I wanted to see the other dentist to put in the permanent crown and did not want to see him again. But as you can see this did not help the situation because I am still in pain they never called to ask me how I was. Also the first time I was there I picked up the drill heads and the tray was rusted and looked dirty. So I made a comment to the dentist I guess he grabbed a new tray but that shouldn't have happened in the first place. I found them on Google because they had a five-star review all these fabulous reviews from people saying how great they were is the reason I went there. I absolutely don't know how this happened that they have a five-star review. It is an absolute nightmare when I went to check out after they put in the permanent crown the woman couldn't even tell me what my balance was I told her it was $444. She said well we'll just charge you $400 and bill you for the rest I said you don't see the balance on the screen and now that I think of it I have a receipt for the first $777 I paid. But it does not show the total cost minus what I paid and then the balance. So for all I know now they could charge me more money. Very unprofessional very incompetent. Worst dentist I've ever been to I've been to several dentist in Massachusetts and New Hampshire have had two other crowns have never had them hurt after the fact at a complete loss now. Feel so helpless for I have a tooth in my head that still is killing me and so is my pocketbook and the only thing I have to look forward to is more pain and more money for I will never step foot in this office again. Even though I have no dental insurance and have to pay for all this out of pocket don't know how I'm going to do that it is ridiculous that I have to pay what is now going to be a total of $3,600 for another dentist to fix what they should have fixed in the first place. The tooth prep was not around the way all the other ones were prepped it was 3/4 of the way down in the back and a quarter of the way down in the front of the tooth that's why it was so jagged and I thought it was broken complained to the woman at the desk twice and she never once said to me that's the truth they worked on. She said I know I know I will tell the dentist so that when you get here he can figure out what to do he's one of the owners when I got there he had no idea what I was talking about. After a good 5 minutes of trying to figure out what was going on I figured out that the jagged tooth was the actual one that had the temporary crown on it the crown I have now is smooth. But does me absolutely no good for the fact that anytime I eat or drink and absolutely kills me! So please do yourself a favor and do not ever step foot or go near this dentist office they are only open on Monday and Saturday the receptionist is there from Monday through Friday in a different one on Saturday. Worst dental experience of my entire life and I am 53 years old.

Every single visit I paid hundreds of dollars upfront no problem because it is an estimate of what the patient responsibility is. As soon as I started getting in the EOB's from my insurance company, I could see that I was overpaying by a lot at every visit. Once this was brought up to them they told me that they had a contract dispute with CIGNA.. I tried to have several conversations with them, letting them know that their contract dispute with CIGNA should not be passed along to their patients, and I was thrown out of the office, literally in the middle of my pediatric son having treatment. I have spoken to CIGNA about this supposed disputed contract and CIGNA tells me that they are paying exactly the rates they are required to. So be very careful when you're paying upfront hundreds of dollars and make sure to check with your insurance company and make sure you're closely monitoring those EOB's when they come in. Super nice dentist turned into a complete jerk when she threw me out of the office and my pediatric son. Again, keep in mind that I have no problem paying for my fair share and every time I went into the office I paid the hundreds of dollars upfront with absolutely no questions asked! As she was berating me in the office she also stated that we were customers so that tells you everything you need to know customers equal $$ patients are only patients when they agree to blindly pay whatever they say you should. Balance billing for a dispute you have with your contacted insurance is not a patient problem.

Dr. Calvin raised his voice at me for not agreeing to his intervention! Such an action reveals their complete and utter lack of compassion and respect for their patients and violates the fundamental tenets of medical ethics. In addition, Dr. Calvin is not a licensed physician, and the intervention he demanded was a medical intervention! He did not discuss ANY of the possible negative side effects, did not inform me about ANY implications of pushing this on me against my will! INFORMED CONSENT IS FUNDAMENTAL TO PROTECT YOU FROM MEDICAL VIOLENCE AT THE HANDS OF THESE EDUCATED AND SKILLED PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE TRAINING AND THE KNOWLEDGE TO CAUSE IMMENSE HARM AND PAIN TO YOU IF THEY WANT. In addition the three fillings in my molars they put in JUST three years ago HAVE ALL failed and there is now substantial decay behind these! I came in for my 6-monthly cleaning and examination on schedule just two months earlier, and they mentioned NOTHING about all three fillings failing and there being decay behind them! And yet, now, just two months after my last check up with Dr. Calvin, I am looking at needing TWO ROOT CANALS DONE! HOW did the decay progress so far if I was just seen two months ago at Calvin Dental? Something is telling me, also, that fillings SHOULD last longer than 3 years... AND NOT A PEEP from them at my last check up! Yikes! I am moving to a different practice! Looking for a dentist who will respect my choices, and avoid battering me with unwanted interventions AT THE LEAST!

One of those fillings were incorrectly shaped, I returned and the owner worked on it. Again, the cavity wasn't done properly. I had no pain issues with this tooth before they said that there was a cavity and there wasn't a cavity 6 months prior.. I was still having pain when I chewed on that side. I informed Kim, their office manager, and she said that I should just come back in to have it worked on again. Well, after having the owners wife first try and then the owner, I had no faith in them actually being able to repair the issue so I went to another dentist. They had to drill out the filling and refill it. No issues since. I told Kim that I didn't think it was fair to have to pay for a filling that wasn't done properly twice and so her response was to send my bill to collections. I'm willing to pay for the correctly filled tooth, but not for the other. I'll also be filing a consumer complaint with the NH Attorney Generals Office.
