Coming from a more natural, non-glam bride, searching for hair and make-up artists for your wedding was a bit intimidating. She was great in understanding my needs and wants and accommodating all bookings for other members of my party. I was so lucky to work with Gina (hair) and Jill (makeup) for both my trail session as well as on the big day. I hired the BreLuxe team for my wedding in October. To be completely honest I would give 5 stars for Tara and the customer service she provided to me, and 4 stars for my hair and makeup team. My initial consultation and booking with Tara was fantastic, she is very easy to work with, professional, and thorough, and we found a date to accommodate a trial. I had only had one experience with professional make up in the past, which was super easy and I loved everything the artist did with minimal input from me, and so I didn't really know how to handle it when I ended up being unhappy with how my initial wedding hair and makeup trial went. After the trial, Tara spent over an hour on the phone with me, really listened to everything I was unhappy with and she helped me set realistic expectations, and realize that I should have vocalized to the artists exactly what I was unhappy with in the moment so they could fix it- fair enough! She also helped me set up a second trial and came up with a plan that she shared with the artists to make sure we were all on the same page. The second trial went better, there were still some things I was unhappy with but I discussed with the artists and we agreed to change it up on the actual day of. On the day of the wedding, my team showed up on time, ready to go and got straight to work. I will say that hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids was very timely and we were all done in plenty of time to get to the venue. I ended up bringing my own foundation since we couldn't get the color/airbrush right during the second trial and I was super nervous that we wouldn't be able to get it right on the wedding day either which wasn't really the artists fault but I hate that I couldn't trust the artist in that respect. One other thing I was disappointed in on the day of was the hair stylist asking me what size curling iron barrel we had decided on during the second trial because she didn't remember. Well I didn't remember either, and I feel like my curl wasn't really quite right. Bottom line is I received so many compliments on my hair and makeup that day, and seeing it in pictures I don't hate it. Maybe I am being overly critical of myself but I just feel like my hair/makeup didn't wow me like I feel it should have. read more

SO RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE! After missing our first appointment and reaching out to me nearly two hours later, we rescheduled for the following day. The morning of our rescheduled appointment I got an email telling me they were cancelling again because they "could not accommodate only one person on a Saturday", information that I submitted before the first scheduled appointment. We used Breluxe for an event last year (pre-pandemic) to do hair and makeup for four women in our hotel. I was crystal clear that I wanted very natural makeup and that my straight hair was very hard to curl so they'd need to spend most of the time just putting it in very tight curls with hairspray. I ended up with really unflattering, splotchy pink and gold eyeshadow, fake eyelashes that were so cheap-looking I asked them to remove them and use my own -- theirs had very few eyelashes that were spaced far apart and really thin and long, which looked super creepy -- and worst of all, flat pathetic curls that just turned into a stringy mess by the time our event started. The other women in our group had slightly better experiences, but the key for hair and makeup artists is reliability, and I wouldn't ever trust this company with an event that mattered to me again. read more
