So much fun! A delightful way to spend some time on vacation, see the scenery and make new friends and memories. We meet at a beautiful golf course, and we were meet by a friendly face, and hot chocolate. We meet Brad, Miss Gracie Jane, and our draft horses, and off we went. We took a lovely ride around the course, dental and perfect for children, physically challenged, and anyone really. Gracie and Brad kept us informed and entertained. You climb up a hill and pick your pumpkin. Do recomend.

They take out too many riders at a time. Like 12 with only two wranglers to manage. One of the trail guides was on a green horse that acted up on occasion. Six children under the age of 8 on our ride and these kids had never been on a horse. So much stopping and starting because one poor little kid's horses would just randomly quit walking and his little legs couldn't even reach the horses sides for a proper giddy up kick. July flies made the horses just miserable--constantly stopping to nip at a fly or stomp. Fly spray--it's a thing. It was a long 1.5 hour ride and the views would have been better enjoyed on foot. Bottom line: too many on the ride and very uncomfortable saddles

A great experience this morning with the family! Well cared for horses and all the staff was friendly and helpful. Our trail guides Tom and Alex were the best! Tom showed my boys so many things, shared stories and was great! Price was for 1 1/2 hour ride for the price other stables charged for one hour so it was a better deal. This was a great memory made that my boys are still raving about! Tip your guides! They really earned it.

Taylor took our family out on a wonderful scenic mountain horseback adventure. We loved every minute of it! Big John took a moment to relieve himself and we all got a good laugh. Thank you, Taylor! We look forward to seeing you again soon

My family and I had a great time at Breckenridge Stables! Well I had a great time, my brother got a little frustrated with his horse during our group trail ride, but that's only because he's not really a horse guy. Though overall a great thing to do for families of any age!

This review is for the SLEIGH RIDE, only available at certain times of the year. My mother had wanted a "White Christmas" as she is from Australia and this truly made her entire YEAR!!!!! Our Horses Penny and Piper were so sweet and adorable. And our "driver" was so courteous and kind to us!! Would highly recommend!!

Bald Mountain in the background! At the "overlook": with horses Maxine and Einstein!

The kindest, most amazing people. They treat their horses really well, too. We return every year and have a better experience each time.

As an experienced rider, I was looking for a trail ride that would not be the stereotypical nose-to-tail walking trail ride that is so commonly offered, and this trail ride did not disappoint! We were able to ride in a pack, side-by-side each other. We rode from the ranch, out through a pasture, and up a hillside to the top of the butte. On the butte, they let us experienced riders do more than walk on our horses. Amy, Josh, and Josh were so warm and welcoming and shared some history about the area. Fantastic tour guides, and amazing humans. My friend and I were visiting Colorado for about a week, and Amy gave us some recommendations of additional things to do/see while we were in the area, as well. Next time I make it back to Colorado, I would absolutely go back and visit Platte Ranch again. Cannot recommend this place enough for those looking for a truly awesome riding experience in the mountains!!

But I still enjoy horses and being out in nature so much that I try to go when we are on vacation just for fun. This place is anything but a nose-to-tail trail ride. I would almost go back to Colorado for another vacation just to go riding here again. I cannot recommend it enough!!! Not only was the ride amazing, and the scenery too, but our trail guides were the very best. They engaged with each one individually, tried to learn a little about each of us and made sure everyone was having a good time, that we were all comfortable, and they let us know several times to just ask if there was anything we needed. It was fabulous!

We were in a small group of four, plus our awesome wrangler Stephanie, and had a solid three + hours on horseback all the way to the top of the Rockies to an amazing panoramic view. The horses were healthy, sturdy, and well trained with only minimal snacking on grass when allowed by the novice riders. The tack was in good shape and not shoddy or worn at all. Our wrangler was personable and kept conversation going. Best of luck to you and your travels, Stephanie! The ride had many breathtaking moments, from the Aspen forests to the pines, to fields with wildflowers and old abandoned log cabins, and of course the views of the mountains. Be prepared to get a few scrapes and cuts from unkind branches of pine trees that will get in your way no matter how hard you try to out-maneuver them! I was a bit dismayed to learn that it was to be a walking tour only, and this is the only reason why I docked a star as this info wasn't entirely clear to me before I booked the tour. Although there isn't much space that is horizontal enough to go running (most of the ride is steep up or downward pitch), I was really hoping to get a good ride in. However, I learned that this is normal for riding in this area - apparently a different license is needed for ranches that allow anything more than a steady walk. So, if you are an experienced rider hoping to use those skills, please be aware of this.

We trailered the horses and headed to a trailhead nearby for the full day - stopping for lunch in a beautiful meadow. I believe they provided a couple bottles of water, sandwich, Capri-suns and some trail mix, as well as rain ponchos. Being late September, I was hoping for more color and Aspen groves, but this ride was mostly through pine forest - the guide mentioned that the 1/2 day ride may actually have better scenery, but I was very happy with the full day. A lot of our ride followed the Colorado Trail and we saw one hiker the entire day. I think it would be really cool if they took you to some old ghost towns or abandoned mining areas, which are pretty abundant in the area.

You take a 30 minute school bus ride and some quick safety instructions (thanks Erico!) And then get assigned to your boat. Ours included 8 of us and a guide. Honestly that was too much but okay. For a riding outfitter, they offered a pretty nice experience if you're not an equestrian - they encourage you to have independent control of your horse on the ride so that you're NOT riding nose-to-tail. They also, very briefly, allowed one or two opportunities to trot, which is very rare for outfitters to allow, stateside. Those were really nice selling points for me, as Im an English rider. I also got a sassy gelding named Monroe who was always ready to go faster (I had no problem holding him back and he was always very respectful of what I asked). Monroe also got a bit spooky at times when we approached a certain area and might have given me a small crow hop at one point. Again, I didn't mind his spunk! I just stayed relaxed and listened to the guide's instructions to have someone else lead (horses can get spookier when they're the lead horse) The landscape was not that interesting. We went up a big hill and then we did go through some nice aspen groves, but it wasnt too awe inspiring. They did say if we came back they would go different routes. For the horses, the crew, and the opportunities - I'd give em a 5 star. For the views, maybe a 3.5ish. Overall, I'd give em another go. I wouldn't do less than a 1 hour experience.
