If I let the secret out about this gem of a gym then I risk it getting overcrowded but then again, maybe there's someone out there looking for a place as low-key as this. Full disclosure - this gym is old. The parking lot and the building have "seen things" if you know what I mean. There's no pool and the locker room spa has never worked since I've been here. Same can be said for the elevator. There's no bright paint on the walls and there's advertisements as old as I am I'm sure. That being said why 5 stars? Because this gym is a gym! The weights are all here, the equipment, treadmills, ellipticals, stairmaster etc etc. The people here? No showmanship, we mind our business, and we work out. There's all sorts of ages, weights, and fitness levels here and no one cares. They have a smattering of classes led by instructors throughout the week. There's karate and jujitsu for kids(separate but hosted here so how cool to workout while your kiddo is in class). During normal "work hours" you'll see a lot more of the senior 60+ crew and there also is a group of special needs individuals that show up. In the evenings I've seen racquetball going on and there's a small lounge area where people can watch the people playing. I can't stress enough how normal this place is, it's not rush rush get out of the way for others and it's just a good vide all around. This is a gym for the locals!

Ron is his trainer and from the jump, Ron has created a space for my nephew to feel empowered while challenging him through teaching him boxing techniques and skills. Not only is it teaching him the art of boxing, but also life/wisdom-that is priceless.

Decent selection of equipment, never waited too long for anything. They've done a couple upgrades and one major renovation in the two or so years I was there. I ended up switching to a gym that was more convenient for work, and there was no fuss or BS to close my account. The only time I had to talk to the staff was when I lost my key fob.

Rowers, Bikes, Bars, Plates, Ergs, Racks, Dumbbells, Kettlebells. It is a first class operation. Not to mention they have meals, supplements, and fitness plans to help meet your goals. The owner is a nut. Yes I said it. He is all over the map in a good way. He has unlimited energy. He's the type of person that you wanna be around because he inspires and motivates you. He is very intense and he might be crazy (in a good way). With that said, Chris is the guy you want to train you and energize this group fitness environment. Chris really cares and is so passionate about good technique, gains, health and he loves to yell, play loud music and motivate you. It is a blast. He is in your corner. Chris is a solid dude and you will take the time to give you the tools for your success. Jessica (Chris' wife) also is very passionate about fitness. She is a beast, and has an extra gear and often works out with the group when she is not busy with new clients. Chris and Jessica are an awesome team! It is more than a business to them and they love what they do which makes all the difference. Workouts: Expect the unexpected. No other workout routine can give you so much in so little time. I think the best part of Ape Arena is the family environment. Most people here are not teenyboppers or people that are looking to date other people, they are folks that are established and are trying their best to achieve personal goals and there is definitely a sense of community when we're all working out together. What sets this gym apart from others I believe from what I hear from my other friends at other gyms is our coaches are absolutely amazing. In addition to Chris, you have Malik and Chity (I know I misspelled it) and they are alike in consistency but all have great strengths individually. Collectively they are all professionals and masters of their craft and they all care about you, your goals, and your health. I love the team that they assembled I think I will be coming here a long time because I have so much fun doing hard work and the results I have seen are absolutely amazing. Pound-for-pound I am probably the strongest I have ever been in my life and that's pretty crazy because I was pretty fit in the Marine Corps. You can't go wrong at this gym but I will say things are not easy. You have to put in the work. You have to be focused. You have to work on things that coaches to tell you to do. You have to like the feeling of sweat dripping all over the place. Thank you Ape Arena and all the coaches. You know who you are. You guys are amazing people. You have absolutely exceeded my expectations and I cannot imagine a life without being a part of this gym.

The owner is quite OCD on keeping it clean for us. Who am I to complain. Not trying to catch ringworm. The hour workouts consist of a long warm up, strength (either benchpress, squats, deadlifts, clean or presses) then the conditioning. The conditioning can be scaled to fit your experience level. Coach can modify the workout or you can adjust weights as needed. And expect to get a killer workout. Sometimes during my workouts I ask myself why do I choose to be so out of breath on my day off. Since training here I've seen improvement in strength, flexibility and stamina. Get that free week trial yaaa.

This is literally the cleanest gym I've ever been in my whole life lol. The vibe here is so welcoming and kind. The coaches are so great with teaching proper form and are sticklers about form. They also make sure we get a good warm up and focus on stretching before the workout, which I very much appreciate. I've gained so much muscle and my strength has skyrocketed since attending here and I've only been at this gym since May (4 months)!
