Kids are welcome, and they have a good-sized kids' menu. My kiddo ordered the pasta shells with both white (Alfredo) and red (marinara) sauce. The shells were large with a thin layer of cheese. I snuck a few bites and thought they were good. We also shared a bowl of clam chowder, which pleasantly surprised me. It wasn't overloaded with potatoes; there was a good amount of clams and carrots. I ordered the Blackened Salmon Burger, which was really good. The aioli paired especially well with the salmon and arugula. My favorite, though, was the Shepherd's Pie. It was packed with all the good stuff and came in a huge portion; I'm already looking forward to the leftovers. The tavern itself had a fun atmosphere. Its high, second-story ceiling made the space echo, so I'm curious what it sounds like when it's busy. There were a couple of TVs with ESPN on for sports fans. My favorite part, though, was the posters with historical facts (after all, it is also a museum) We're already planning a return trip; our experience was just that good. I'd highly recommend stopping by--it's even worth making a special trip for.
