Now I know there's not a huge amount of grape growers in Britain but our climate is very similar to The Loire, Champagne and much of Germany's so there's no reason why we can't have our own grog! My early memories of British wine are that of my folk's home made stuff which tasted like dentist mouthwash (but worse) so when I first tasted a bottle from this winery, I was really shocked.
Peter Hall own's this vineyard and his Seyval Blanc wine actually won a gold medal at the International Wine Challenge in 1993. You can see why when you try it. Really subtle flavours that leave you wanting more!
You can order online, I'd also try the Sparkling Brut 2005 which at around £20 is really good value. read more
