I like the guy in International Food Wine and Beer, because he knows what he wants. I was walking…read morearound the shop, taking some notes on the place, when he asked me what I was doing, to which I told him that I was writing reviews for an internet database. Within one minute, I was standing behind the counter, trying to help him sort out his dodgy internet connection. I had, of course, been given this job because he assumed that I must, being young, and using the internet daily, also be a technician. He was sadly wrong, and I couldn't help.
But anyway, he was a nice guy and runs this shop in a nice informal way, and it helps to oil the shopping experience as you don't feel pressurised to buy stuff immediately. As soon as you walk in, you don't also think that there would be much else to buy other than the usual selection of fizzy drinks and sandwiches in the main fridge, but actually if you walk to the back of the store there is a really decent selection of Ales. Really decent. Better than a lot of off licenses. Harveys, Fullers, Hepworth, Batemans, Wychwood and Fenning's (who brew a beer called Sneck Lifter, wow!) are all represented in large number, so if you like real ales I would definitely have a look at this place. Bottles cost about £2 each.
Also a large selection of wine's, a card rack, and a slightly depleted but eclectic array of Polish and Turkish foods, such Ajvar's Eggplant and pepper spread; which could be amazing, could be disgusting?
