with seconds to spare
Chad B.

Two adults and six Jr-Sr High schoolers locked in a room. I cant wait to do it again. We had a party of 8 and talk about being under pressure down to the last minute. The multiple room setup made the game much more fun and the final clues that gave room for making some mistakes really kept it going. As we knew what the final thing to do was, my wife and I went to the room with the door waiting for them to get the key as we were down to 2 minutes. As the clock got closer to 60 minutes I started to get nervous and with 15 seconds to spare, they opened the door. I already purchased another 8 person outing when they had a sale. I cant wait to go back again and start with being handcuffed.

We escaped!

The Breakout Games in Urbandale is such a great experience! For group outings, team building experiences, birthday parties, etc. It's very fun and unique! I went for a team building experience and it was great to see everyone's different skills come out. Aaron was our game master and we broke out in 58:23 minutes just in time! We played the Casino room which was challenging yet fun! Math and creativity, along with the helpful hints from Aaron, definitely was the key to success! There are maybe 12 different rooms and they're building another currently. The staff is very kind and welcoming. I definitely recommend the Breakout for a fun escape room experience!

We did Island Escape and broke out setting a new record!

Oh my goodness! What a great way for team bonding or a fun group activity for a party or get together! We made our reservation for a Friday night with a group of 8 celebrating a birthday. We arrived and already had signed our waivers online so our game leader Kaylee was able to get us started right off. We entered the room "island escape" and she explained rules then started a video and that was the cue to start the game! It was so much fun working through puzzles and deciphering clues together and it took all of us to solve it and break out! And in record time! We had our group picture taken and were given a card with our puzzle information and time so we can share it or come back and do another! What a great evening and birthday celebration!

Day two - we barely made it!

From start to finish, this is a well organized production. If you do groups, they send you links ahead of time to pick out projects. They work with you for payments ahead, so you don't have to worry about that the day of. Excellent email communication so that everyone is set up. Lots of time to shop online and figure out what you want to do. Team bonding experience that puts you to work. Like I said, don't be fooled. You are going to work for your project! You walk in and are warmly welcomed by the staff. She directs you to your table. They have all the projects that you pre-purchased laid out. Snag a drink, they are available for purchase. The individual assigned to you goes over all the details. You throw on your work apron and get going. Pick out your stain. Sand your project. (Hope you picked a smaller one) Stain your project. This created a safety concern, as it was alarming to come quickly around a corner and encounter a stopped kart on the track--not because of an accident or reckless driving, but due to the kart's power being remotely controlled by staff. Our group was not being rowdy or causing issues, so it was unclear why these interventions were necessary during our race. While we did enjoy the customer service and food, the racing portion of the experience left our entire group dissatisfied. Not having full control of the karts made it difficult to enjoy the race and, at times, felt unsafe. Abruptly slowing down or stopping mid-race left drivers feeling vulnerable and at risk of being hit by others who had no warning. Additionally, these interruptions negatively impacted race results. Several drivers who were leading or in the top three were dropped to much lower positions after their kart slowed or stopped unexpectedly. Because of these issues, we are unlikely to return, despite the otherwise positive aspects of our visit.

Walked into Dave & Buster's in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. We wanted to grab a…read morequick bite to eat and play some games. Close parking to the front entrance can be hard to find at peak times even with the business being adjacent to Jordan Creek Mall. There's plenty of spots, but you might have to hike a little. My guess is mall guests utilize the parking right in front of Dave & Buster's too while they shop. The gentlemen at the host station said the wait for a table would be 1 1/2 hours despite there being visibly plenty of open tables... Not enough staff to cover all the sections maybe? Or maybe they were reserved...? There were seats open at the bar so we headed that direction. The full food menu is available at the bar too. Seating is mostly larger open booths, high top tables and chairs, and the seating at the bar. Our bartender/server was nice enough. We ordered the following: 1x Cheese Stick Stack - "Extra-large crispy cheese sticks topped with shredded Parmesan. Served with marinara sauce." 1x Bar Burgers & Wings Platter. Wings with honey barbecue - "Smashed burger sliders paired with Bone-In Wings with your choice of sauce or dry rub. Served with seasoned fries and celery sticks with your choice of ranch or bleu cheese." 1x Hottie burger and fries - "Two cajun-spiced smashed burger patties, topped with pickled jalapeños, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomato, onions, jalapeño ranch, and a fried jalapeño." 2x Fountain drinks (Coke products) 1x Dangerous Waters Island Punch - "Malibu Coconut, Blue Curaçao, pineapple, and fresh citrus mix." As nice as our bartender was I think he keyed something in wrong with the Bar Burgers & Wings Platter. The wings were forgotten. They (him and a manager) straightened it out and adjusted our bill a little. The food was all good. The stand out to both of us was the Cheese Stick Stack. This is an awesome app with an epic cheese pull! The wings were REALLY good too... After our food and drinks we spent some time playing games. Just messing around... A good mix of old or new arcade games. Skee ball, basketball games, clown ball toss, whack a mole, water gun race, coin pushes, wheels of chance, etc. The place was clean and there were staff available on the floor if you ran into any problems or had questions. A decent way to kill an afternoon. https://www.daveandbusters.com/

I was organizing a company team outing here…read more The customer service on the phone was helpful as I was struggling with the options provided on the website for our small groups. IF you are trying to put together a group of less than 10 you cant utilize their offered company team building . I was informed there would have to be exceptions made to make it work. Once we figured out what would work for us we did 3 smaller groups in the middle of the week in the middle of the day. The atmosphere is loud. Even with no one else really in there. The waitress was fantastic with my group. I explained what we were doing and order the meal and play with play cards for our group. She talked me through what she was going to do and helped make sure it worked out alright. Hang onto your D&B cards, they can be reloaded. You will have to pay a small fee to reload, but no as much if you have reactivate a new card. There are some really big games. You can win "tickets" of course. I thought the place was bigger, but the gaming area is half and the eating/bar is on the other. Circling back on the food. That was a shock. It was really good. Far better than I had thought. I got the burger and was pleasantly full. Everyone in our group of 7 enjoyed their meals. Everyone left happy and full. Again my waitress was very helpful and accommodating. I want to try this again since she said the team building is actually pretty cool. I think I have an idea so that we can meet the team minimums.
