The staff here are phenomenal and so friendly. We had a good time here! They offer military discount and children under 5 are free.

The storyline was excellent and from start to finish, the building was immersive. Props and decor were top-notch and plentiful. I really appreciate that the clues had difficulty without being too much of a stretch to be realistic or discoverable. There were red herring props to trip you up or waste time. The game master was helpful when needed but he didn't overstep when we were on the cusp of a discovery. This is definitely THE BEST escape room I've ever done! I would highly recommend it and next time I'm in NOLA I'm coming back to do another. Bonus points that the escape room is adjacent to a brewery and we enjoyed some nice pints and live music after.

Seriously SO immersive. Ok so there were 4 of us & we did the Inventor's Attic. GREAT room & pretty challenging even for seasoned Escape Room enthusiasts like us. If I ever find myself visiting NoLa again, I'll definitely want to try one of their other rooms.

We have done over 30 escape rooms but this was our first time doing them with just us two, so we were a bit nervous but up for the challenge. Day 1 we had Kam who was awesome - so enthusiastic and excited to be our game master. We did the Voodoo Cemetery with ~16 mins to spare and then the Revenge on the Bayou right after with ~19 mins to spare with just the two of us. The rooms were challenging but very doable for even 2 people with escape room experience. I had so much fun day 1 that I wanted to finish all the rooms they had to offer so we booked their other 2 rooms the next day. We literally brought our luggage with us and went to the airport after. Nisha was our game master and she was also amazing and had great enthusiasm! We did both the Carnival Heist and the Vampire Hunter room, which are supposed to be harder than the Voodoo/Bayou. We finished each with about ~6 mins left to spare. Those rooms would definitely benefit from having a team of ~3-4+ players, but it is doable with 2 if you are experienced. The rooms are designed so well and the immersion is excellent - great props, decor, and story. The puzzles made sense and had great flow to them. What I liked the most about Clue Carre is that they only do private room experiences, so you aren't paired up with random strangers. I can't wait to check out their other location and rooms we haven't done when we are back in Nola!!! What a wonderful bookend to our nice vacation.

Based on the room theme (vampire) and the challenge difficulty (most difficult), it wasn't the best option for if you are bringing young kids. Maybe another theme and room difficulty. Overall it was a fun time though and will come back just with adults .

Extremely high production value (which will cost you) and the scariest room we've ever done…read more We only did 3 of the 5 Mystere Escape Rooms because we are not yet exploring the realm of live zombie rooms and we were told their Ghost Lab is simply too difficult for two people. Of course now we want to go back to the Ghost Lab just to see how we do. This place has by far the highest production value we have ever seen but it will cost you - rooms are $39.95 plus tax (lower for LA residents). We have to talk about The Serial Killer's Lair at length because it's clearly a major draw for this facility. Based on the Saw movie series, this was a must-do for me, a mega Saw fan. For the Saw fans - you are going to love some aspects and... be less than enthused by others. You know how Jigsaw finds imitation somewhat... distasteful? You may too when faced with pop-out scare tactics that are beneath the psychological thrills which made you a Saw fan in the first place. Probably the most frustrating aspect of these haunted house gimmicks was that they were COMPLETELY unnecessary as there are plenty of very authentic aspects which are scary as hell without random loud noises. But we digress. For any thrill seeker who also happens to enjoy Escape Rooms, this is the room for you. As usual, we do all rooms with just the two of us. We did not escape the Serial Killer Lair and thought we weren't even close, but it turns out we were on the final task. We were definitely derailed by a LOT of fear. In other words, this room is doable for two people (even though it advertises as a 4-12 player room) but also lends itself to a large group. The room isn't actually that hard if you are a fearless beast with night vision. Items of note: You are VERY much in the dark the entire time, so take that into account if you have vision impairment. Also, this room is NOT kid friendly, nor should anyone with a heart condition participate. If you can't handle a haunted house, you CAN'T handle this room. We thought of bailing several times but were proud that we stuck with it and overcame some fears, so there's that. After getting the ever living bejeezus scared out of us, we did Treasure Hunt and The Game Room (roughly based on Indiana Jones). We were successful in the Treasure Hunt and unsuccessful (though barely!) in the Game Room. Both are doable with two people but Treasure Hunt is the best room for smaller groups. Recommend a bigger group for Game Room unless you are experienced. Once again - insanely high production value on both rooms. Treasure Hunt may pose some issues for a claustrophobic person. Both are very family friendly. The staff (JC, David, and Johnny) was very friendly and flexible to our desired schedule and desired group size (always remember that this may not be the case if they are busy). Puzzle design is mostly solid, though weakest in the Serial Killer Lair. Regardless, the Serial Killer Lair was an unforgettable experience we will be talking about for a long time, and we recommend that you visit this facility to try one or more of their rooms. The Escape Couple Note: If you visit our site, you will see that we gave Mystere 4 stars, This is based on our national scale - Mystere definitely qualifies as a 5-star facility in NOLA.

I posted a review for their downtown location a while back, but I'll post one for this location too…read moresince I just went to do the Game Museum room there. Clue Carré is the best option for escape rooms in the New Orleans area! I've done 5 rooms with them and each one was SO much fun!!! It's a bit cheaper than other companies, they have many room options, the employees are always friendly and helpful, plus your game is private. The rooms are about $35 per person, so it's less expensive than other companies. They have 8 rooms across their different locations. I've enjoyed 5 of them so far and each one was cleverly and fantastically set-up, staffed with friendly employees. The great thing about this company is that each room is a private experience. If you book the room during one of the time slots for any number of players (even just yourself), the room becomes closed to other people. You can show up and bring more people than you booked for (just pay for extra players when you get there), but no one outside of your party will join you. You don't have to worry about random uncooperative strangers playing the game with you when you get there! I highly recommend Clue Carré! The ambiance, the clues, the mechanisms are always on-theme and on-point. Some of the tasks we've had to accomplish weren't all easy, and we always have to ask for a few hints, but the challenge is part of the fun! There are usually a lot of tasks to accomplish within an hour, so it's meant for more than two people, but we typically get very close to the end with just my boyfriend and I even if we don't finish. Everything is all really well thought out! The only thing about this company that I don't love is that they don't give you a few extra minutes to complete the room even when you're SO close. At another company, they gave us a few extra minutes when they knew we were close, and they gave us a little bit of leniency because they knew we had only 2 people as opposed to their recommended 4-5. These games can be hard to complete with less people because you can't divide and conquer as much. BUT, I think their policy here is to not give time extensions because they rank their room difficulty levels by success rates. (If they gave too many people extensions to complete the games, all of the success rates would become close to 100% and their ranking system wouldn't work.) Plus, they need time to reset the room for the next group too. I LOVE Clue Carré!!! I'm coming back to do the rest of their other rooms!
