Food ok. Crayfish Ettofea ok, bland and rice undercooked. Catfish was a 5 . Waitress ok. We needed water refills about 20 minutes before she returned. Waited about 25 minutes for a house salad, 35/40 minutes for lunch. Great atmosphere. Chicken Alfredo pk. Steak with vegetables and mashed potatoes good. Prices to high. My seafood combo plate had no sides, no salad no vegetables no fries. $19.00 for one piece of fried Catfish and one serving of crayfish Ettufea" on rice. Nice view of golf course, say one Alligator on the green between the ponds. I want be back. Want recommend the restaurant either. read more

Disappointing Experience. We took my grandmother to Atchafalaya at Idlewild for her 84th birthday lunch. I'd been to the establishment before, and enjoyed the food. I thought it'd be a great experience for my family, so I made reservations for us (a party of 8) to attend. Upon arriving, the manager (Kevin) glanced up from whatever had his attention at the host's station as we told him our name and reservation information. He lazily pointed to a table in the middle of the restaurant, "We have y'all in the middle," and continued to (read? watch?) whatever had his attention. We walked ourselves over to our table. From there, the service only worsened. Our waitress continued to seat and serve every other table around us while we waited for about 20 minutes for her to take our food orders. Eventually, we ordered our food and proceeded to wait for another 30-40 minutes for our food. Our reservation started at 11:30 a.m. We didn't receive our food until about 12:40 p.m. Throughout our time there, we asked our waitress what the hold up was and she told us repeatedly that "it [was] coming." In the beginning of our dining experience, my mother asked the waitress for a straw. By the time she returned with the straw (about 10 minutes after being asked), my mother had literally taken my father's straw and finished her drink. This level of service continued throughout the duration of our time there. The food was fine. Actually, it was more than fine. It was good, which is why I gave the establishment 2 stars here. But I couldn't help but feel like our patronage wasn't appreciated. It wasn't appreciated by Kevin (the manager), by the waitstaff, or by the owners of Atchafalaya at Idlewild. I came to Louisiana from Texas very excited to bring my family to this gem of a restaurant I'd discovered in my hometown. Imagine my disappointment (and, frankly, my embarrassment) when I brought them to a place that couldn't even be bothered to walk us to our table. I'll never go back. read more

Food is good Service is horrible, went at 7:15 pm got sat @ 7:30 Received our drinks approx 7:35 and I accidentally spilled my drink did not Hey acknowledged until I flagged waitress whom had passed by 4 times and manager as well @ approx 8pm still I food @ 8:19pm left with out eating supper/dinner. The food was good, that's why the two stars. The drinks were good. But the service was impressively bad. The waitress acted like she was highly inconvenienced, every time we asked for a drink refill. We had a large group, and they only had one waitress assigned to the whole dining room-- in restaurants I've been in in other cities, they would have had two waitresses just for the large group. So she took appetizer orders and it took her 15 minutes to go around and take everyone's order. Then AFTER the appetizers came out (it took quite awhile), she went around for another 15 minutes to take our entree orders. And getting the checks right took quite literally an entire hour of effort. We were at the restaurant for close to four hours, just for lunch. Good food, but incredibly poorly managed and inefficient. These guys compete here because a good restaurant is hard to come by. But they wouldn't make it in a more competitive city. read more

There is a lot of good here, but the wait for food took away a star. We took our father on Father's day, so the restaurant was fairly busy with several large tables. Our party unfortunately straggled in somewhere around the reservation time, but that wasn't the cause of the slow service. We ordered the catfish bite appetizer and the spinach dip. The fish was delicious, but next time I will pass on the dip. The server Kayla (who was excellent by the way) recommended the tenderloin beef with either pasta. I chose to get the pasta with the olive oil based sauce...great choice and a delicious dish. The meat literally melted in your mouth. I was a bit disappointed that my dad's seafood platter, while good, came with the same catfish bites from the appetizer...I feel like there should have been larger pieces of fish. Also, one of my sisters ordered an oyster poboy and after about 30 minutes of waiting the server came out to say that they were out of oysters...none for the seafood platter either. Seems like someone dropped the ball here. She placed another order and we probably waited another 40 minutes before food was served. I would go here again, but ask several questions beforehand as to what they do and don't have. My sister in law had been here before, and she said the same thing about the slow food wait. read more

What a beautiful establishment. You'd never know it was here unless you're local or a golfer. Felt like I was at a resort in the mountains when I walked inside. Super clean and spacious. Beautiful views. Large outdoor patio. Business , golfers and many couples were having lunch on this past Friday. Food was all excellent. We had a party if 5. Service is lacking though. Our server was great but lunch time staff appeared to be short so we waited to a while. We'd come back though. Pro shop located inside restaurant area as well. read more

I can't attest to the golf course since I don't golf, but I can talk about the food at their restaurant! It's probably one of the best restaurants in the Morgan City area! Every time we're here, we go eat here AT LEAST 1 time if not more during the week. Some favorite dishes I've had include the tuna (seared to medium served with an avacado salada), catfish atchafalaya (grilled or fried served with crawifsh etouffe). I've had the redfish and it was really good. Had a seafood salad before and that was ok but nothing I'd order again. Golfwise, a few co workers have gone to the driving range there. $12 for unlimited balls. The people at our office here says that the golfcourse is probably the highest rated in the whole state of Louisiana, and from the looks of it, it looks very nice :) This is definitely a place to try when you're out in the Morgan City area. read more

I really enjoy this place. It is always pleasant, and the food is good. I am not yet a golfer, so I can only speak of the restaurant. Certainly, it is a great place for a lunch meeting. The staff is very friendly as well. The view of the golf course adds to the enjoyment of the experience! If you wish, you can rent a golf cart after your meal, and drive around as you have cigar... if your tastes are that refined, that is! :p jejeje Anyway, stop by here, get a mid-rare burger with sweet potato fries, or a chicken and sausage gumbo, and wash it down with a tasty sweet iced tea! read more

$75 for a round here! Never again!! The fairways are like hitting off of concrete. The greens are constantly aerated and burnt! No rangers to speed pace of play. If you do play here, aim for the rough so you'll have something to hit from. The sand traps are never groomed and most have at best a quarter inch of dirt/sand in them. Save your money, there are much better values around! read more
