Breadtop is an Asian-style bakery in which you take a tray and tongs and manually select what pastries you want from little bins.
They offer a la carte savory and sweet options including meat stuffed buns and custard buns. They also bake smaller rolls and loaves. Most items are eggy and yeasty, all soft with a pillowy bite.
After loading your tray, you pay at the cashier and each pastry is placed in its own wax bag. Prices are affordable are around $2-$4 AUD. We enjoy Breadtop as a mid day snack or a convenient breakfast. The pastries store and heat up well.
