I don't leave reviews often but my Fiancé and I love to find bakeries we've never been too and try them. He is more of a donut guy but I love pastries. This place blew my mind with options and quality. Service was amazing. We got a giant rice crispy treat for my daughters and a cream horn. The star was this random strawberry dessert I seen. It absolutely took my breath away with how amazing it was. I will definitely be back.

The staff here was extremely friendly. The selection was good. I enjoyed the flavors of what I bought. I look forward to making future purchases.

The Danish were excellent. The dough had a different flavor than some of the other bakeries in the area.

My go to Bakery. I've never been disappointed unless they were out of something I wanted.

    Date nut cupcake

Chocolate chip cookie was somewhat soft but also crunchy and unremarkable in flavor. Bread pudding was dry but sweet and had decent vanilla ish flavor. It needed a glaze badly. The date but cupcake had a fantastic homemade legitimate buttercream frosting and the cupcake had excellent moisture and nutty sweet flavor.

Fabulous date & nut cake with decadent cream cheese icing!

EVERYTHING here is delicious- my favorites include the poppyseed roll & the individual cheese or cherry danish. But I ordered a half sheet date & nut cake for my mom's 93rd birthday & to say it was AMAZING is the understatement- the cream cheese frosting was decadent. Our entire family loved it! Oh & it was very pretty as a bonus!

a mediocre cassata cake. real good ones have 2 layers of strawberries and custard

Very disappointed Ordered a cassata cake for a birthday party and I told my husband to make sure he speaks to the owner but he did not want to bother the owner. So, I told him to let the person taking the order know we do not want only jam in between the layers like our past experience and they told him "Oh, we don't do them like that." Yet, this is the 2nd time the Cassata cake came out very disappointing. Two layers of cake with strawberry jam that had little slivers of mashed up preserved strawberries that the owner called their sauce and none of the real sliced up strawberries. There was also some kind of butter cream under the jam. No one could tell what it was, it did not taste or look like custard. The icing on the cake is made of that heavy butter cream and not the light whipped kind. Could have bought this kind of cake from a grocery store. When I picked up the cake I told the person at the counter that I hope it was not like a prior incident with just jam in the cake and they told me to call if it was but when I called and told Janet who answered the call, she asked me, "So, did you eat the cake?" She was more concerned about a possible refund more than a customer who was disappointed about the quality of their product. It was 9pm, we were celebrating a birthday, are we going to find another bakery who makes cassata cakes on Saturday at 9pm? Janet was dismissive and did not try to be understanding. Because she treated me like I was out to scam them out of a cake, I told her I had pictures and she said you need pictures if you want a refund. And all this time I never mentioned anything about a refund. There must be a lot of scammers out there for storekeepers to be like this. Called the owner and he sounded concerned and asked me if I wanted a refund or for him to bake another cake. I told him I am not interested in either. The way I was spoken to already made me feel like I was trying to get a free cake. One of the pictures I have attached, the chocolate cake, was the cassata cake I got and the other pic of the yellow cake with the real sliced up strawberries is a stock photo for comparison. I have gotten Cassata cakes with 2 layers of strawberries so this stock photo is but a representation of a mediocre cake but look at the one I got. I will not be back to this bakery and I warned my husband never to get cakes from here anymore. He said the owner is a really nice guy. I told him to go deer hunting with him then, but, when we want real Cassata cakes we need to go to an Italian bakery.

Great for breakfast! My fiancé will run here on the weekends and gets their breakfast pastry. The savory ones with the eggs and cheese are amazing. Also, their muffins are amazing. Moist sweet and delightful. Highly recommend!

Service is also attentive and friendly. My favourite worker who works there is an old lady, Luba from Ukraine, who I love chatting with because she just exudes joy and kindness. Plus, who doesn't love a Grandmother? There are younger workers there too who are nice. Prices are very decent. In my recent July 2024 visit, I got a Miami donut and a German Kaiser sandwich. I had never ordered any of their sandwiches before so The famous Miami donut has only gone up in price by $1.35. It cost $1.65 in 2019 and now, in July 2024, it cost $3.00. The sandwich that I ordered was a 'build your own' sandwich on Kaiser bread which was $6.50. I added turkey, tomatoes, their oil/dressing mix, and mayo on the side. The German Kaiser sandwich was a delicious second lunch for me after 3:30pm (the lunch I ate earlier in the day which I prepared at home was very light). Since my below review in 2019, I still love Michael's Bakery and I wish I lived closer to the business. While they may not be one of those "fancier" bakeries, they are still very good. Never judge a book by its cover (including inside appearance). The outside ("cover") building is simple which is fine since it tied into the neighbourhood (Brooklyn) that the bakery is located in. I'll definitely be back. I normally visit every 3-4 months.

Never a doubt that what you're getting is fresh. So what do they run out of sometimes? Donuts. They have the most unique donuts in Cleveland. They're not decked out in over-the-top toppings, which are always better in theory than taste. Instead, these all follow the same format. Basic chewy donut with interesting flavor combinations and simple complementary toppings. Last time we were in they had lavender lemon, peanut butter banana and key lime coconut, among about 7-8 others. Highly recommend the key lime. Let's talk about the breakfast burritos. The size of a baby. A delicious baby. They're stuffed with a lot of ingredients and they all work together. The breakfast sandwiches are good too, though I am burrito from here on out. The pb banana was a winner for sure. But generally they are all very dense and almost too cakey- thick and dry in the mouth in a not great, heavy way. But still way better than the yeast donuts which should be skipped altogether. All of the four or so yeast donuts I tried were big grease laden heavy extremely bready misses. Dry, thick, chewy in a way that was more like a large piece of fried bread loaf than a light fluffy donut. Just bad in texture all around. The frosting and flavor were still there which is nice. Service was super friendly and the inside is quite cute with lots of alt flair and stickers everywhere. They just need to use a lot less flour instead of making heavy bready loafy donuts. GUYS. I had to add another star. I tried the giant ho-ho they sell and I have forgiven their earlier trespasses against donuts! This thing tastes almost like a real ho ho except a slight hint of bittersweet in the chocolate coating. Creamy inside. Chocolatey everywhere and the cake isn't too dense or dry! Get one! Wow! I took a picture of mine but I already decimated it because it was so good.

I got a savory scone, a massive cookie, a mini baguette, an apple muffin, and a huge cinnamon roll. I ate the cinnamon roll nearly right away once I got home. The cinnamon roll with cream cheese ($6) was SOOOOO moist and decadent! I warmed it up for a few seconds and then enjoyed one of the best cinnamon roll I have ever had. The vanilla and cinnamon were very prominent. Definitely a calorie bomb though. I shared the other sweet treats with my sister the next day and we agreed that the next best item was the muffin. I should also mention that the staff member that helped me that afternoon was very nice and most likely the owner. He was very helpful in explaining what each item I got in my box was and also in helping me decide on a gift for a friend I was about to see soon. I bought my friend a box of locally made teas for about $14 and she loved them! I definitely hope to come back here soon (once I have worked off the pounds from this most recent visit haha)!

It was seemingly cooked in the paper that it was served in so the top of the bread pieces were crunchy, the middle was softer and then everything else was completely stuck to the paper. I didn't get to eat about 1/3 of what I paid for and I had to work really hard for the other 1/3. Also, the bread had a very spicy taste. It must have been cinnamon and allspice, but it was entirely too much and very overpowering. It truly tasted like a spicy savory bread which is not what I was expecting or wanted. Monkey bread is usually gooey and sweet. This missed the mark, but that's okay. I'll certainly return for another treat soon. Also the bread was looking fire this day.
