European cheese croissant and spinach and feta. So good!!

Went in the morning and grabbed a few pastries to go. They were all delicious!! Warm and crispy with generous fillings.

    Treat time!

A bakery right on 109 Street in the old Noorish location. I had never actually checked out the bakery until a family member brought these delicious cruffins to a dinner! The cruffins are filled with Boston cream-esque filing with chocolate icing and a raspberry on top. I was sold! I checked out Breadland a few times for their cruffin and tried a few other items, like the cinnamon bun, pizza flatbread and danishes. Unfortunately, I did not love any other of their baked goods, especially for the price. But the cruffin - worth it. Last time I checked it out, the cruffin was gone! They had stopped selling them, but they may come back. So TBD on the cruffin debacle.

The pesto spinach pizza pastry was so darn good. Sharp cheese accompanied by pesto packs a flavour punch. The pastry was buttery and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Felt like I had moisturizer on my lips after eating the thing but I do love me some grease so I wasn't at all put off by it. Lol Also picked up a loaf of the organic bread. It was so yummy when toasted and smothered in peanut butter. If it hadn't have been so good I might have tried it just as is. Sigh

    European-style croissant ($2.75), about 7" long!

I've been trying to modify my diet to eat less processed-white-flour-devoid-of-nutrients bread, so I was thrilled to discover Breadland close to home. They are located in Oliver Square West, next to the Second Cup, KVP, and London Drugs. They have a wide variety of organic loaves of breade baked fresh every day, including spelt grain, sprouted, multi seed, pumpernickel (haven't been there early enough to see it yet), challah, yeast-less, and my new favourite, kamut bread. Even my husband who dislikes whole wheat bread loves it. My understanding is that everything is made with a sourdough starter so everything I've tried has a faint sourdough taste, which I love. On Thursdays they take out loaves that were frozen immediately after baking, so that they are just like freshly-baked loaves, and sell them for a discount. I happened to be there on a Thursday and the kamut loaf I bought was just as good as any other day. They are open non-traditional bakery hours (until 5pm Saturdays for example, when I'd expect it to close earlier, but opens at 9am every day with the exception of being closed on Sundays - I always thought bakeries were open super early?) and there are usually 4-5 types of loaves left when I pop by at the end of the day. If you get a chance to go there on Saturday, be sure to pick up a fresh baguette! Even if it's not Saturday, they are still great - I was there on Monday once and they had baguettes leftover from Saturday on sale, and they were still so soft and fresh that I had to buy one. Delicious. They also have other ready-to-eat goodies like pizza and croissants. The croissant I had was flaky and buttery (and large!) though a little dried out, but that was my fault for eating it the next day. There is a small dine-in area of about 3 tables. They do take credit cards. They are a little more expensive than I'd like it to be but I'm paying for quality, and when I think about it, it's not much more than what I'd pay for a loaf of Wonderbread but this is much, much better. Will be back!

Although I am glad to see this business up and running again, I am disappointed with how much they've downsized. The new store is rather small, and it now focuses mostly on vitamins and other health supplements. There is a small section of organic food and gluten-free products, and there's a small seating area, where you can sit and have a lunch or an antioxidant smoothie (healthy!). The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. I bought some vitamins, and the lady gave me a student discount, which was great. I will continue to shop here, because I am loyal to this place, and their prices are still very reasonable, especially the vitamins. I do hope they expand again one day soon--I really miss their humus!

The staff were…read morevery nice in helping me find it, and it took me awhile to pick one out since they had several kinds. I chatted to one woman who worked there about the products, and she told me about the many uses for coconut oil -- as skin moisturizer, for instance -- which I found really interesting. I finally settled on one, and as she rung up the sale she told me about the brand I was buying, and how they actually let monkeys pick the coconuts to be used. I thought that was pretty funny. So the service here is always great, but the only thing I have a problem with is their pricing system. It's really hard to see which labels on the shelf belong to which items, and I often get confused, buy one product, and realize it was a different price. So they might want to organize their shelves better. But it won't stop me from coming here, because I like giving them my business.

Yes !! Vitamins. I go here for my vitamins as well as pick up for my significant other ! We both take vitamin B12, C and other essentials . This place is great for not only vitamins but also other health products that do a far better job than the standard regular products. The staff here are very knowledgeable and know their products very well. I use several items and the results are amazing. Now like I said, people need to stock up on vitamins and other health essentials ( I am not the most healthiest person ) but it is important to take them. There is also a tea section where there is a good assortment of different teas. I highly suggest you go here for the vitamins.. it's a bit more expensive but they work a lot better than what you get anywhere else. I know a lot of people can not really go out but if you do go.. here's where you go for your vitamins !

They have aisles of high-quality supplements, hair and facial products that are chemical and additive free. I started going to their Oliver Square location first, which is at 11646 104 Ave. It's smaller and I like the staff. They're very knowledgeable and don't try to push anything on you. They also offer a loyalty card so you can discount after 10 purchases. I've come back again and again, because I know they'll help me to make an informed decision and not gloss over information or health benefits. I later discovered this south side location and was amazed at the size. it has a cafe and day spa as well. The smaller location is more convenient for me, but the larger one has a great vibe, especially with lots of like-minded souls sipping their Rooibus in the cafe.
