With the Corona Virus going around , I noticed that a lot of people are stocking up on toilet paper ( useless ) and canned goods and other foods.. but the one thing they need to get is vitamins !!! Yes !! Vitamins. I go here for my vitamins as well as pick up for my significant other ! We both take vitamin B12, C and other essentials . This place is great for not only vitamins but also other health products that do a far better job than the standard regular products. The staff here are very knowledgeable and know their products very well. I use several items and the results are amazing. Now like I said, people need to stock up on vitamins and other health essentials ( I am not the most healthiest person ) but it is important to take them. There is also a tea section where there is a good assortment of different teas. I highly suggest you go here for the vitamins.. it's a bit more expensive but they work a lot better than what you get anywhere else. When I first started learning about all of the organic, non-chemical options for my health and beauty care I came to Optimum. They have aisles of high-quality supplements, hair and facial products that are chemical and additive free. I started going to their Oliver Square location first, which is at 11646 104 Ave. It's smaller and I like the staff. They're very knowledgeable and don't try to push anything on you. They also offer a loyalty card so you can discount after 10 purchases. I've come back again and again, because I know they'll help me to make an informed decision and not gloss over information or health benefits. I later discovered this south side location and was amazed at the size. it has a cafe and day spa as well. The smaller location is more convenient for me, but the larger one has a great vibe, especially with lots of like-minded souls sipping their Rooibus in the cafe. read more

They carry some of the top natural skincare lines such as Eminence, Dr. Hauschka, Suki and The Body Deli. Kolya Naturals, which is located inside, offers fantastic 2 hour organic facials and various other spa services. The staff is well educated on all the products and take the time to answer your questions thoroughly. Earth's Aromatique, also located inside, has a wide array of hydrosols, oils, herbs, and supplies for DIY projects. They also offer regular workshops. The prices of vitamins and health food are a bit more than what you'd find at other places. If you are into holistic health and beauty, you will find some great products here. read more

Great little store to shop for vitamins, supplements and occassionally skin care. Whenever I shop here, it feels like I am doing a good thing by supporting a local business. For such a small store, Optimum Health is nicely stocked. They carry products from well-known brands such as Sisu, Naka (their Vital Greens liquid is amazing) and Natural Factors. Here I discovered Dr. Hauschka skin care for the first time. When I came in looking for green tea, the lovely sales associate directed me towards Japanese green tea with roasted brown rice, and now it is a must-have in my pantry. Although Optimum Health at Oliver Square is a lot smaller than the one at Southside adjacent to Kolya Day spa, I frequent this locaton nonetheless. When I am ready to do some major shopping, Southside Optimum Health is the way to go. read more

The location is the best option for me as I now live far south. There are other independent stores that are much closer but this location has everything I need in one stop. The staff are well educated and can usually help you with just about anything, if you are looking for a specialty product, they will look into it for you, order it, and let you know once it has arrived. I'm not a naturopath but I'm well educated in nutrition, health, and herbs. I'm very much in love with a couple products made by optimum health. Their combinations for example: the combination within opti-Test allows me to buy one product instead of many. It helps me keep my energy level up when I'm constantly on the go with work and sports. I would rate this two and a half stars. Needed vitamins, so popped in here. Although staff were busy, and a bit brusque, they answered my questions. To be honest, not so sure if I made the right choice, and the staff is hit or miss, some know what they are talking about, other don't and I had to search my phone for the answers I was looking for which is why I give it the 2 1/2 star rating. Also, that Eminence skin care line is super expensive and doesn't work. Don't buy it!!! read more

I've shopped here a number of years and have seen a lot of weird things. Some of the staff members are friendly at times and other times they are rude and seem like they can't be bothered. Most recently at the Oliver Square location an older lady wouldn't even help me so I ended up leaving. I've heard the managers talking down to staff members in front of customers and I've received bad information from a number of the girls who work in the stores. I think it's a good place to shop if you do your own research, but do not always take for granted what the staff tells you because they are often wrong. I gave it two stars simply because it does carry quality products but I am not happy with the quality of service from the staff. read more

I had to pop into Optimum really quickly to pick something up for my sister. I wish I had more time to browse what they had, and I was excited that they had a little tea shop attached. I also want to check that out a little more. I was asked if I needed help finding something, and when I showed the picture to the employee, she knew exactly where it was. Everyone in that store was friendly and willing to help. Since it's so close to my house, I will be sure to stop in there again! I am obsessed with this place! Locally owned and staff that are so willing to offer their knowledge, it's easy to find exactly what you need. I feel like coming here is an alternative to going to a naturopath. I tell the staff what's going on, and they show me exactly what could help. The products they have on hand are endless. You can use items in the store to make your own products at home. The workshops that they hold are absolutely amazing! You can learn to provide for yourself rather than buy expensive products. I absolutely love this store and I choose to shop here now instead of going to Shoppers Drug Mart. read more

I love the apothecary and the skin care section! I got this really amazing new foundation that contains hydrolaunic acid and it makes my skin feel amazing! I went there to just check out some vitamins and other supplements. As usual no one was there to help me. It was sooo expensive for the items I wanted, I can get them way cheaper elsewhere. I wandered into the skin care area, I was helped out by a very nice lady who showed me the products and suggested some options. We tried one colour and I did mention that my tone is lighter than one thinks and was sent home with a slight orange tinge. I did go back later to try a different tone and was given a sample along with my purchase which was very generous. Thanks ladies for all your help. read more

I live across the street from this store so it is convenient but I am at the point where I will now make the journey to planet organic or any other competitor for my needs as I find every time I go into the store I have had to ask for assistance in finding what I am looking for. The sales staff are pretentious and condescending. I can get the items I need elsewhere without being treated poorly. These people have no idea what I do and it appears to me they are working in retail so I am not sure where they get their attitude. read more
