I can't believe I haven't written a review for Mazzaro's Italian Market yet. Every time I'm in the…read moreSt. Pete area, I make it a point to stop by. I absolutely love the ambiance, incredible selection, and variety of fresh, prepared, and packaged foods they offer. It's always busy -- and honestly, I've never seen an "off" time -- but that's part of the experience. I could easily spend hours wandering from room to room. One area has fresh vegetables and prepackaged dinners, another features spices tucked into a small alcove, while another is filled with wine and cheese. Then there's the main room, which houses a coffee bar, bakery and dessert counters, grocery items, a meat counter, and the deli where you can order made-to-order sandwiches and other freshly prepared foods. Everywhere you turn, there's something new and amazing to discover. This visit, I ordered the Hot Italian sub, and it was outstanding -- huge, flavorful, and packed with delicious ingredients. Every bite was fantastic. And yes, I happily ate the entire thing fresh while sitting outside on the covered patio. If you still have time before they close -- their hours are somewhat limited and closed on Sundays -- be sure to check out the kitchen store and gelato shop next door as well. They're the perfect addition to the experience and make it even harder to leave without discovering something else amazing.

If you find yourself in the St Pete/Tampa Bay Area...GO to Mazzaro's! Just avoid Saturdays or go early , it's so hectic ! Enjoy

We found Baked in the Burg looking for Maddie's Cakes on Google Maps. Immediately, we realized that…read morethis was not the business we'd looked at online, but decided to give it a try. To start, Maddie's Cakes indicated that it opened at 5pm, leading us to believe that it serviced the late-night coffee-and-pastries crowd. Baked in the Burg opens at 10am and closes at 7pm, and has a very different vibe than what we were expecting. The pastries are definitely meant to be the star of the show, but they were mislabeled (labeled as chocolate pistachio but only chocolate was available), and the baristas knew very little about the product. Speaking of the baristas, although they were very friendly, they clearly were woefully lacking in training. I ordered a chai tea, and one of the baristas asked the other, "Do you know how to make that?" Additionally, my mom ordered a coffee, and when she asked if the brew coffee sitting on the hot plate was fresh, the barista answered, "It was made this morning [seven hours prior to our visit], but it's been on the hot plate." My mom had to ask for a fresh pot to be made, because apparently no one told these poor girls how disgusting coffee is after seven hours on a hot plate. To their credit, though, they were extremely friendly and accommodating, and did their best to answer all of our questions. I just think they need more training. As far as the pastries are concerned, we were so disappointed that we ended up going to Sorrento Sweets right up the street. Skip Baked in the Burg and head to Sorrento's if you want a high-quality bakery experience.

They are massive and delicious, plenty of options to choose from too! My favorite was the Florida cream and almond cheesecake, French toast was fun too! The dough of the donuts is soft, pillowy, delicious and weirdly enough gluten or bread items usually hurt me, but weirdly i had no issues having their donuts . Their Ube coffee was a treat, unusual, delicious and not too sweet! The vibe is so cool, but not really a sit down spot, more of a pickup spot. The service is exceptional, friendly, attentive, quick and overall enjoyable an experience. I love this place and cant wait to try other seasonal flavors . Go check them out, you wont regret it!

I love that they are inclusive and have a full bakeshop of dairy free options - we celebrated my friends bday recently & got here a bunch of the sweets so she could try them all! She always missed out on the sweets from other places with her dairy allergy so we appreciate Valkyrie Doughnuts! I will say, it is on the expensive side at around $8 a bar but the quality and taste is worth it. Just be prepared to spend if you plan to get multiple items. You wont be disappointed, everything I've tried from here is delicious!
