Bread and Cheese Catering encompasses Pineapple Crush and Gourmet Grilled Cheese in San Diego. The last time I was in San Diego in 2019, I had Pineapple Crush at the Interactive Zone at Petco Park during Comic Con. So when visited again in 2022, Pineapple Crush was back under Bread and Cheese Catering. I went over and ordered a Pineapple Crush and a Pizza-Grill-Zoni. My Grilled Cheese was ready first, followed by the Pineapple Crush. It was a fun except. The stuff was unique and tasty. I hope to see them again next year!

I'm not a huge grilled cheese fan so I'm far from a connoisseur, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Cali Gold sandwich. Grilled cheese is such a simple concept but Bread and Cheese really kicked it up a notch. A lot of the other sandwiches they offer looked really good as well. I would recommend eating your grilled cheese quickly! While their cheese pull game is strong, once the sandwich cools down, it's no longer the same gooey consistency. I'm a slow eater, so part of my grilled cheese got soggy. I think it would be nice to see if I could get both sides of the bread toasted to see if it'll help..! I also really wanted to try their soup, but they were sold out.. hopefully I can next time!

This Grilled Cheese specialist rocks. I thought Grater's was great and they are, but Bread and Cheese definitely took the crown in my book. I had the Cali Gold which came with Swiss & Pepper Jack Cheese, roasted red peppers, fresh arugula, and pesto aioli, on a quality sourdough bread for $9.75. My first impression with the grilled cheese was that I really loved the way they grilled the sourdough. The grilling not only gave the bread a great crunchy texture, but it added it nice grilled flavor to the bread. The Swiss and Pepper Jack cheeses were perfectly melted and tasted great together. I dug the slight pepper flavor the arugula offered and not only the color of the red betters, but the added crunchy texture they added to the mix. The pesto aioli was very good and added to the indulgence of the melted cheeses. Good stuff indeed. Great friendly service dynamic food is a winner in my book.

I first tried their grilled cheese sandwiches at an event almost a year ago! Their sandwiches were great and the tomato soup was tasty as well. I didn't know they were just starting out their business during that time since they seemed to already know what they are doing... Then I attended their 1 year anniversary party at Bay City over the weekend and had a lot more fun than I expected LOL. There was a live musician, new menu items, and merchandise for sale too. I guess I didn't get the memo because almost everyone there either brought their dogs or came with babies LOL. My friend and I shared the Reuben and Cali Gold grilled cheese sandwiches, which were huge and very filling. Both sandwiches were delicious, but I liked the Reuben a bit more since there was a lot of pastrami inside instead of just cheese. It was nice that the event took place at this bar because it paired well with the beer I tried.

I don't really do food tents so much as food trucks, and I certainly didn't think that I'd spontaneously try a food tent during a massive food adventure one-day road trip, but something about this just clicked. This past Sunday, Bread and Cheese Catering was in front of Modern Times, a brewery (and beer bar, and cafe) not too far removed from a freeway and the Sports Arena area of San Diego. The Yelp listing says that it's the "Midway" neighborhood, whatever that means. I'm not from around here. Per this caterer's web site calendar, they post up at this location somewhat sporadically, and they also show up at farmers markets and various other places. Inside this location, they sprinkle copies of their menu and will even walk completed orders to you. My friends and I decided to share several sandwiches, all served on sliced sourdough bread, so that we could get a good idea of what they had to offer: - Mucho Queso ($8) was a smooth 4-cheese blend with garlic aioli and was just so gooey. - Burn-A-Nator ($9.75) was a rather mild-medium blend of spicy components, not as hot as I'd feared. The salami stood out to me, in a good way. - Reuben ($9.75) was my favorite because of the sharp Swiss. I could have eaten it all day, and then some. We didn't try the option of adding cheese to a sandwich's exterior for $1 extra. This would've probably made it even more fantastic. I'll have to do so if I find the opportunity to return again. Also, one of my now-vegan friends decided to have some Coconut Curry Tomato Soup ($2 for a rather diminutive cup), which I was able to score for him for free via Yelp check-in. I had a taste and found it quite satisfying. I'd definitely order a bowl ($4) for myself next time. Bread and Cheese offers certainly some of the best grilled cheeses here or anywhere. Definitely check their calendar if you're in town, and bonus points if you get lucky enough to make your own beer pairings.

Justin and Devin were amazing at the Elite Event at Circa 37 tonight. They were both total sweethearts while they were busy at work grilling them and making talk aobut how they came to be. I had the pleasure of sampling two of their grilled cheeses - Mucho Queso and the Ruben. To be honest I never realized how much you could do with grilled cheese sandwiches. Until I tasted what I tasted today. The coconut curry tomato soup was marvelous. Dipping the Mucho Queso in, made such a wonderful combination. Sadly I can't vouch as much for the Ruben as I ended up dropping that delicious little cup of coconut curry tomato soup when I was taking a picture at the event. But from what I heard from everyone else that was eating it - it was amazing. A lot of people in the event kept going back for more! It's hard to believe that they have only been open for 25 days! Feel like they should have been open longer! They do, do farmers' markets but their main thing is following them on instagram @breadandcheesecatering to see where they will appear! Brad, our CM is amazing for finding them to cater at the event tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing them near me or a future party that may come up :D and definitely want to try everything with their coconut curry tomato soup.

I tried both the Ruben and Mucho Queso grilled cheese sandwiches. They were both great but i think i liked the Mucho Queso better, as the name implies very cheesy, lots of gooey cheese oozing out of the edges of perfectly crispy grilled buttery bread. Im not usually a fan of tomato soup, but the coconut curry tomato soup was a perfect complement to the grilled cheese sandwiches. I know its a classic pairing but somehow the coconut curry elevates the plain tomato soup to a different level. I loved the soup and sandwich, the friendly owners Justin and Devin and the whimsical logo.

We had a small group, about 40 people. The sandwiches were a TOTAL hit! Our guests couldn't stop talking about them. They crew was friendly and fantastic! They required no oversight. They setup, got going and cleaned up seamlessly. I will reccomend them to everyone and use them again when I'm in need! My faves: Cali Gold and The Reuben!

Food and catering service were some of our highest priorities to get right during our wedding and Culinary Kitchen was phenomenal every step of the way. Our communication with Ashley and and JP before, during, and after the wedding was exceptional. From the very beginning, Ashley was very responsive and regularly checked in with us, which helped me feel less overwhelmed by all the catering decisions we needed to make. I tend to err on being extremely detail oriented and I asked tons of questions early on. Ashley was so patient and thorough with each email I had sent over even before booking. Before choosing our caterer, we did 3 different wedding caterer tastings and Culinary Kitchen easily was the best of all three (we're still thinking about the gochujang meatballs and the cavatappi pasta with fennel sausage!!). On our wedding day, the food service ran seamlessly and our guests often commented on how good the food was (guests were actually trying to sneak chicken tenders off the kids plates because even the kids meals were so good). Their team also helped us serve our desserts, did our bartending, and rented/placed all of our table settings, all at very reasonable prices as part of the entire catering package. The team also went above and beyond to accommodate all of our guests' special dietary needs while still helping us stay within budget and recommending a cohesive menu. One last thing - we did A LOT of research on different San Diego caterers before our wedding (I think we sent out inquiries to at least 10 other caterers) and Culinary Kitchen's catering packages felt the most "upscale" and comprehensive without leaving us feeling nickel and dimed for every line item. I truly felt like their team was on our side the whole way. THANK YOU Culinary Kitchen for catering our wedding day!! We wish you guys the best of success!

Quality imagination presentation --…read more Four Seasons Food Catering is owned by the marvelous duo Billy Burd and Sierra Ridenour-Burd. They make an amazing team. They catered a party for us at the The Thursday Club in Point Loma in March and dazzled everyone. When we were trying to choose a caterer we were attracted to Four Seasons by the imaginative and creative flair of Chef Billy Burd's cuisine and by their very positive reviews. One thing that caught our attention about the reviews was that many of them were fairly long. Apparently reviewers were not satisfied to give 5 stars and a paragraph of praise, they really wanted to testify. They felt that Four Seasons was special and they were motivated to let you know just how special. After experiencing Four Seasons catering service we can understand that sentiment. The culinary experience Four Seasons provided was marvelous. The dishes were imaginative, taste tempting, and a delight to the eye. Guests loved the appetizers that were passed: shrimp wrapped in basil and pancetta, mushrooms with escargot, parmesan crusted artichoke hearts. The stationary display had a choice assortment of cheeses and a selection of cold seafood that included jumbo shrimp, smoked salmon, ahi poke, and a sashimi platter all beautifully presented. Suffice it to say the buffet was equally spectacular. Chef Billy takes pride in the quality of the products he sources. The filet mignon for example was gorgeous. The shrimp served in the seafood display were so tasty that they made you stop and take notice. This was a once in a lifetime kind of party for us so we pulled out the stops when we were choosing items for the menu. It's very much to Billy and Sierra's credit that part of their response was to say that and they would be happy to offer some more budget friendly variations. We appreciated their inclination to work with clients to find good solutions to their needs. We enjoyed meeting with Chef Billy one time early in the planning process, but other than that, all the planning and coordination was handled by Sierra. She is fantastic and a pleasure to work with. She gave us recommendations on the initial approach to the menu, on down to details like the serving schedule, linens, and the table floor plan. We communicated mostly through email which was very productive because her emails, besides being congenial, were always clear and complete. And it was amazing how quickly she would reply, usually the same day. When it came to the final week before the party and it was time to summarize all the various emails and discussions Sierra nailed it, she recapped everything perfectly. The Four Seasons staff were wonderful. During the set up time they operated like clockwork. During the party they could not have been more charming and gracious. This is another major point to Billy and Sierra's credit. It takes care and effort to assemble a team of this quality--a group of individuals who interface harmoniously not only with the guests, but with each other, and with other vendors such as the florist. The whole event flowed thanks to the staff. When you are planning a special event you hope to create a joyful and memorable experience for all your guests.
