This branch is in a really convenient location and is maintained well. The people who work here are also super nice! I bought my birthday cake (the Purple Carousel chocolate cake) here, and they gave me an extra bag of sweets! My favorites are their: *Lemon bars - really great lemon flavor and have a tart, refreshing sweetness *Chocolate revel bars - probably the best I've had *Chocolate Campfire cake - very rich, but in this amazing way where you don't get tired of eating it! I've also had their: *Purple Carousel chocolate cake - classic chocolate cake with these chocolate wafers on top *Mini Pecan Pie - not the consistency I prefer in a pecan pie but the flavor was still very good *Mini Chocnut Pie - light, could use a stronger chocnut flavor, I really liked the crust though *Cookies - I love cookies so I usually get 1 or 2 with whatever else I'm buying that day, theirs are crispy on the edges and chewy on the inside *Quiche Tinapa - Liked this a lot and just ate mine chilled, but I think it would be better to warm it a little at home

(Let's have coffee). I rarely hung out in cafés neither am a coffee drinker but this old panaderia is just so pleasing with it's down to earth yet classic ambiance, one cannot help but take a step inside. Everything seem to be just old but well-maintained, no air-conditioning nor fancy doors and windows, their main attraction is basically the 76 year old pugon in the kitchen where they bake all the breads and pastries that they serve. What I usually order is their famous pugon-baked pan de suelo, a slice of egg pie and a brewed coffee sided with condensada--simple, nostalgic, very Filipino and not to mention, very affordable. The smokiness of the fluffy pan de sal, smoothness of the egg pie filling, the classic combination of brewed coffee and condensada plus the whole package of the place will actually make you think and talk about how things were back then, your childhood stories and even Philippine history, if your conversation would go that far. To me, it is the perfect "kapihan" where everyone is welcome and anyone can be themselves. No pretensions needed. Kamuning Bakery also offers fresh cow's and goat's milk from Quezon, tablea tsokolate, pugon-baked old and modern day cakes and a variety of breads.

I really enjoy making a stop at a bakery. And every time I find myself in Banawe, I try to make…read moresure I make that stop at Formosa Bakery. Upon entering, you can definitely smell the fresh goodies they bake there and their options aren't just limited to breads alone. In fact, Formosa also sells a variety of pies, cakes, mini cakes, and delicious pastry items with toppings. Their neat display and the super cute presentation of the pastries and cakes will make you want to pick up almost everything on the shelf and make a run for it. If you're lucky, they also have a bread sale near closing time, so plan your Formosa trip accordingly. One of my favorite pastries from Formosa is their Cream Cheese Bread. It's a great match with your morning coffee and the size of the pastry itself is pretty large. The bakery also did a fantastic job in making sure the portion of the filling is generous and it is. Another thing that I love about their baked goodies is the way they present the food so it's more appealing to the eyes. This Cream Cheese Bread has a large star stamped on top - and even their other baked goodies like the floss is nicely displayed on top of the pastry. Their cakes are okay, I think it depends whether you like your sweets super sweet or not. I like mine in between, and I think their Chocolate Strawberry Mini Cake is just right for those who don't really have a sweet tooth. The little square cake is very nicely presented - it has layers of chiffon, strawberry mousse and chocolate, garnished with a nice piece of chocolate with printed stars. The taste however, was okay for me but the cake was super pretty.

I recommend their Devil's Food Cheesecake (not an ice cream cakes but one of the best!) and the Mango Meringue Symphony (an ice cream cake to die for). The cakes cost around 600 and above, but totally worth it and will make the most out of your money. The service is also remarkable, with their hotline attendant polite and will answer your questions willingly. Their cakes are best for birthdays, anniversaries, monthsaries, and other occasions that you wish not to celebrate in a grand manner (besides, you wouldn't wish to share more slices to more people, right?).

Nothing is too sweet, and the texture is just right. You usually won't see any tables at Cake 2 Go, because by sticking to their namesake, they know that the customers want cake, and they want it to go. So much so, that I think they are the only cake shop franchise that delivers cake! When my girlfriend was feeling under the weather, I wanted to give her a little cheer up, but I just couldn't leave her by her bedside. I called Cake 2 Go to deliver her favorite, Toblerone Overload. The cake was delivered within a few minutes (we were only a few minute's drive from them), and she thanked me for the gesture. All thanks to the delivery of Cake 2 Go.

It's just the best thing that they brought into existence. I mean, I cannot describe the taste of their buko pandan but it's just the best. It's creamy, not too sweet.. just perfect maybe because they are using carabao's milk (I'm not claiming that it is but it tastes like one) instead of packed ones sold in the market. Their siomai is also the best siomai I've tasted yet. I can buy the biggest pack, ask for their chili paste and bam! Gone. In one sitting.

Nathaniel's restaurant's prime branch is in Pampanga but I got to try the one in P. Guevarra in San Juan. Aesthetically, it looks like a typical fast food restaurant; you will dine here not for the ambiance but for their specialty dishes. Their menu doesn't make much of an impression to me; it's the typical barbecue with rice, kaldereta with rice and a few other sizzling plates. One of their best sellers though is the Lasagna which I must say is actually really good! It's very meaty, and has a little bit of sweetness in it at the same time that makes it really friendly for the Filipino taste. They became famous most-especially because of their Buko Pandan that can now be bought at local supermarkets. One pint costs for only P150.00 and P500.00 for one gallon, not bad at all

All of the baked items are individually wrapped to keep them fresh. They also have a varied selection of espresso drinks. I got the Caramel Macchiato, it was delicious but a bit too sweet for me. As a medical student, heading to a new coffeeshop or cafe is the perfect way to jumpstart productivity and combat the stir craziness associated with being hunched over the same desk, every. single. day. Filipinos, however, are a social people. We love talking and catching up over a cup of coffee and some pastries. That can lead to some coffeeshops being noisier than others, and not necessarily being a beacon of productivity. Mr. Park's is perfect for studying! The location isn't in Robinsons Magnolia, but rather is in the arcade of stores beneath The Magnolia Residences facing the green area of the mall, making it both accessible but also secluded. Perfect for uninterrupted time to focus, or a place to get away from the bustle of the mall. The ambiance is really good too. Great, bright lighting and spacious tables make getting work done super easy. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating! Food isn't bad either. I normally get their Americano (P80), and for the price, it's huge! The ice cubes made of coffee they include are also a great touch, and make it an even better value for a quick caffeine fix. Pastries are the name of the game here. I am personally a fan of their croquettes, egg tarts, and cream puffs. I'd pass on the scones, though. They were too dry and flavorless for me. They also offer bingsu. I've had some of a friend's and it tasted pretty good, with the ingredients looking fairly fresh. They're also a lot cheaper than the baked goods that you would find at Starbucks of Coffeebean. Oh, and they're open 24 hours a day!! It's amazing. I love this place. I can study until the sun comes up here.
