They were also setting up a née display so many displays were empty. Bathrooms are in the meeting Hal next door and parking was ample.

Parking was super easy - right across the street - and was FREE!!! Yup - that is right - NO FEE for parking for a show you are seeing on campus and literally right across the street! There is NO BEER OR BOOZE here so be forewarned. I understand it's a university campus so that might be the reason. Booze up before you head down to your show (or sneak some in, you ninja!). Also only vending machines reside on the first floor with no options for appetizers or wining & dining time. If sitting in the balcony (any of them) you may notice the sound not carrying all the way to your seats. We had a hard time hearing Jerry and the comedian who opened up for him. I wasn't sure if it was the sound system or if it was how far back we were in the top balcony. Either way, it was a struggle to hear some of the jokes in between the audience laughs and any commotion happening near our seats.

I want to give a full-throated endorsement of this business, especially as a Downtown Bryan…read moreresident, yet I have serious reservations. 1.) This historic venue deserves better historic interior decor. I recognize the current owners didn't make the renovations to the space, but as a single screen venue...it should feel special, distinct and one-of-a-kind experience from front door to lobby to theatre. It doesn't. 2.) The online website and programming of what's on screen is not extra special. First run films are better left to the cineplexes. This space would suit a well-curated art house, classic cinema, and rarely seen films for a large swath of audiences in the Brazos Valley. I live right around the corner and the 50th Anniversary screening of Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon was the first film since their launch (in current iteration)...it was fun to experience on a large screen. 3.) What is unclear from the online presence is that food can be served to your seat. I looked extensively in the sight but this was not evident to me until we arrived. The menu is very pedestrian, burgers, greasy fries and more fried things, and standard salads. Again, nothing special or unique. 4.). Why are tickets for future screenings unavailable since they are already advertised? Also, there was a lot of noise in the lobby during the film and the house lights did not come up after the film concluded. I WANT to support a local one-screen experience Downtown, but how I miss the reopening days of this place when it was diversely curated and a human being sat in the ticket booth to welcome you into the Experience of The Queen. Her uniqueness is not being capitalized upon, regrettably.

There is nothing quite like a baseball game at Olsen Field! This is a family friendly atmosphere and the perfect way to spend a beautiful Spring day! The ticket prices are very affordable at $8 for an adult general admission ticket and $5 for youth. Reserved seating is about $20 per ticket for an adult. For GA tickets there are a few sections available on the 2nd deck( 1st base line) and lawn seating botboth the 1st and 3rd base lines in the outfield. If you want to guarantee a comfortable space to sit with GA tickets, I recommend arriving 30 mins to 1 hour before game time depending on how big of a game it is. The food is not overly amazing, just typical ballpark food like hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, nachos and candy. You will definitely pay an arm and a leg for anything you purchase at concession or through one of the vendors. If you have time, I recommend packing up some sandwiches or loading up a small grill and just tailgating a bit before the game begins. We have done this several times and have really enjoyed it. My daughter loves the play ground which has definitely entertained her on many occasions. My only complaint is that some times there are kids playing that are maybe a bit too big to be out there and they tend to run and mow down any smaller kids in their way. There is a little thing known around the ballpark as "Olsen Magic" and my friends this is real. You never know when a player will rope a Grand Slam in the bottom of the 9th to win the game! It's the best feeling ever, amplified by the excitement from the fans and the bubble machines shooting hundreds of bubbles into the air. If you've been putting off attending a game at Olsen Field at Blue Bell park, I want to encourage you to get out to a game soon! You will definitely enjoy it!
