As I found Braxton Chiropractic via Yelp, I figured I should also add to the list of raves. I was in a car accident (was t-boned) in early 2020 and it threw my lower back out. It was an old injury from dance that had been newly aggravated by the accident. With just a few sessions I was back to normal. I WISHED I went to Dr. Braxton before going to my doctor as I was told I had "frozen shoulder". The doctor gave me a series of injections and then sent me to physical therapy. That didn't help. I was really hopeful to visit Dr. Braxton for my lower back pain but his assistant, Charlotte, went completely ghost after I sent her over my insurance information (should I be worried?) I've sent emails and called and left messages for two weeks. I explained to her the pain I was having in our initial conversation and I'm just disappointed that she couldn't even give me a call back to let me know what's up. Shame because I live around the corner from Dr. Braxton's office, so I was planning on making weekly trips to see him for my pain. He is incredibly skilled and intuitive and was able to significantly reduce a chronic pain I have had in my mid back and ribs for 15 years from a lifting injury that was further aggravated by a car accident. While driving home from a visit to Dr. Braxton last week I started reflecting on everything he's done for me and my collection of injuries. The more I pondered the more grateful I became, it's crazy how much progress can be made when you find a doctor who knows what they're doing. About 3 years ago I crashed a mountain bike and shattered my collarbone. One 3.5 inch steel plate and 9 screws later I was all patched up, but the healing process left me with some pretty gnarly back/shoulder pain. The muscles were torn off and had to be surgically re-attached and at the end of it all I was left with with constant pain under my left shoulder blade. Every day, the same aching pain. I just kind of got used to it, gave up on sitting still for too long or riding bikes, and basically adjusted to it. I tried two other chiropractors who gave it a go but months of effort did nothing. I tried stretching and strength regimens from physical therapists, got nowhere. I couldn't just let it go, I had to try again and after looking at providers in my area I landed in Dr Braxton's office. I started with weekly visits and started to get relief. Switched to bi-weekly, kept getting better. Once a month after that because I barely had any pain left, I couldn't believe it. At this point today I have no pain. That is insane to me after dealing for so long and if you've ever had a nagging pain for years you know what I'm talking about. The relief you feel when it sinks in that you won't just have to deal with random pain forever is fantastic. Towards the end of my shoulder visits it occurred to me that if he could work this kind of magic with my shoulder, maybe he could help my other problems... -My left ankle which I sprained horribly about 14 months ago never healed correctly, I walked in a boot for months but the ankle always felt slightly unstable and the swelling never corrected itself. A few weeks of Dr. Braxton working on it and boom, ankle pain vanquished, stability restored. -Then I asked him to take a look at my left wrist which I jammed playing sports awhile back. It never quite got back to where it should be and planks and push-ups were too much for it, the pressure shot pain through my forearm. A few sessions with the doc and yet again I was granted relief. I'm not sure how he has succeeded so immensely for me where others have failed but whatever it is I am deeply grateful. I now go three months or longer before coming in for a tuneup, I just don't need it anymore. Nagging pain and injuries can be an unfortunate part of life but having someone like Dr. Braxton in your corner has reminded me that there is help out there. I cannot trust this place. I called over the phone and asked for an appointment. When they ran my insurance, they refused to tell me how much I would end up paying in a visit. I told her that I cannot schedule an appointment if I don't know how much I am going to pay. She instantly got defensive and attacked me. I had to raise my voice in the call, something I rarely do. I don't know what kind of service you guys are running there, and your first impression over the phone was not a good look for you guys. I had been suffering for 4 years from chronic sciatica and spinal stenosis. I am 64 years old and walked like I was 84(a sickly 80). I went to see Dr. Braxton through a referral. My husband hurt his back majorly while lifting weight at the gym. He was in excruciating pain. After he would eat it would hurt worst, he could barely walk or sleep, I never saw my honey like this and I was was feeling him so much my own back started to pain me (I am serious) We went to the doctors they did xrays and said they see nothing gave him pain killers and muscle relaxing drugs and told us if he does not feel better in two MONTHS we can do an MRI WTF. My 1st appointment was this past Tuesday, I was experiencing lower back pain, and muscle strain. Dr. Braxton worked his magic massage, (sonic something) loosening and warming my back muscles. He then proceeded with a deep tissue type of massage and some sort of electro muscle therapy. After all this he then took me to another room where he adjusted me. I walked in at 40% I walked out at 90% over the course of the next two days and a 2nd massage and adjustment I am at 99.9%. OMG!!! I must say that I had the best chiropractic experience that I've ever had with Dr. Braxton today. I found him in a directory network provided by my primary medical insurance company. I called the office and spoke with the receptionists Charlotte. She was very kind and professional. She informed that the office had moved, and the pros of the new location (ample parking, and lots of shops, eateries, & businesses in the area). I told her that I was shopping around for a good DC, and she said not to look any further. So, I scheduled an appointment for the next day. Charlotte wasn't in the office, but Dr Braxton was, and he was very welcoming. He made me feel very comfortable and right at ease. During my pre-examination w/Dr. B, I told him that I had been living with my lower back pain daily for almost 3 yrs, and had resigned that was it my "new normal". Dr. Braxton in one word is "AMAZING". He healed me during a very challenging time. I'm a new mom and if you've had a baby you can relate to postpartum physical weaknesses. My body just isn't as strong as it used to be pre-pregnancy. While multiple-tasking at home I pulled my back out cleaning my sofa and literally couldn't move. I was "Panicked". How was I going to care for my new baby when I couldn't even move. Not knowing if I should go to the ER my husband referred me to Dr. Braxton. It was a Saturday morning, not sure if their office would be open, and to my surprise they were. Upon arrival I was greeted by his friendly staff who promptly escorted me to a private room where I felt right at home. The running spa water, soft jazz music, burning candle, and clean I was able to take a deep breath and wipe my tears. After answering a few questions and a physical evaluation Dr. Braxton determined I had a pinched nerve in my lower back. He began physical Therapy combined with massage therapy and finished with some simple stretches and an adjustment. I went from being tense and nervous to being so relaxed, and within the hour I felt an incredible sense of relief. I was shocked!!! The amount of pain I was in when I entered his doors to the drastic amount of relief I felt leaving was truly a miracle. I followed up with 5 or so consecutive visits and by the then my back was completely healed. It is now 2 months later and I still have no pain what-so-ever. I pick my baby boy up with no problem and we are back to running around and playing games. I am so grateful to Dr. Braxton for being a good listener, patient, kind, and knowing his practice. I'm writing this review strictly on the receptionist. Hire a new one. The receptionist either has no idea what she is doing or does not want this doctor to have new patients. I've called 3 times and sent an email about asking to make an appointment and each time she answers she tells me she will call back in 15 minutes and never does. She did the same thing to my husband when he called as well. The only time she has ever called me back was when I didn't leave a message, only to tell me she will call back in 15 minutes (and NEVER call back hah). I cannot give a review of Dr. Braxton because his office assistant, Charlotte, is so horrible at her job it took me calling five times over three days just to get her to confirm whether or not they take my insurance. Twice she picked up the phone and said, "Can you call me back? I'm doing something." Simply put, hers is the worst customer service I've ever had. Supposedly walk ins are welcome, arrived 515pm and was a new walk in patient. Although i gave the receptionist my insurance card, she knows I had some sort of coverage, I told her I have chiropractic coverage which is how I found their office (in network), and I almost finished filling out the forms that they would have my address, data, where I work, how to reach me... It was too much hassle to see the dr because she still couldn't verify my coverage since Cigna offices were closed. Apparently procedures and verification, even if they have everything- is weighted more than the patient's care. The receptionist was professional and polite. I won't be returning. She had to cancel my appointment hours before because I wasn't on her books and so the Dr was leaving before I was supposed to come in.
