I don't know why I was expecting a small portion of salad, but it was actually a lot, way more than I could finish. There was also a generous amount of fries, and I loved how soft the burger was. The meat was tender, the bacon was soft, and there was a good amount of veggies and a decent amount of sauce. Everything paired really well together. I find it's a great value for a trio, it keeps you full for several hours. I also got the apple caramel cheesecake. It's not a huge portion, but then again, it's cheesecake, so it's naturally rich. That said, this one felt a bit lighter than usual, so you don't get that overly heavy feeling after a slice. I do wish the crust had been a bit firmer, as it was very soft. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my meal and would definitely order it again in the future.

So..... "We're gonna grab steamies. How many do you want"? yells out a couple of Canadian poker buds. "IDK several or a dozen" I yell back from the restroom of the hotel room thinking I heard 'wennies' as in small sausages. 30 minutes later, uncontrolled laughter as they hand me a huge bag. "Here's your dozen". * * * * * * A Montreal institution that for 94 years has focused on one thing, steamies. Take a Shopsy's slender seven incher, warm it and stick it in a smaller than the States side ball park bun, slather it with whatever, maybe top it with a heaping pile of vinegary coleslaw and there you have it. The hotdog, not natural (nitrates and phosphates). No one said this was health food. Here's the thing, meaning no disrespect to those who grew up with these doggies but they are just hotdogs. Love the addition of the slaw but still just hotdogs. Inexpensive. $2.50 - $3.50 each. Great counter service. Nuff said.

The restaurant is very small and more of a take out counter, with no seating, there is also a drive through. Note they take cash only, there are ATMs on site. We ordered 2 types of hot dogs and a poutine - the hot dogs were good, michigan sauce could have been more flavorful, it was lacking some sweetness. Poutine was a disappointment - the fries were not salted and sauce also lacked some flavor. It was thin and runny, closer to a BBQ type of sauce like St-Hubert style rather than the thick brown gravy. I found everything could have used more flavor. There is only 1 size poutine and it was on the small size. Considering this is some type of historical institution that's been around since 1929, I expected to be charmed but the food was very average and on the expensive side.

I replaced the fries for onion rings, the portion was good. I also got a side of coleslaw, and I regretted my decisions as soon as I opened the box, the coleslaw was just plain purple cabbage with mayo, no flavour whatsoever. I didn't even take a second bite. The cost of this was 7$ which is a total rip off I also got the strawberry milkshake which was good. I don't think I will try again because we have so many other good fried chicken places

Ok so I ordered their BLT chicken sandwich .. in all fairness.. it was ok like the chicken itself was limited and there was more batter it was super crispy the batter though lol however they did put a generous amount of bacon so I was super happy about that! Service: super nice but they forgot everything lol We never got our drinks or sauce.. I asked for their sauce on the side so my burger was dry lmao because the sauce wasnt even given ughhh super annoyed Onion rings were a bit soggy.. overall its a good alternative but there's just so much competition on the street and it's hard to top the others.. i mean if you want amazing try CALI its far better and cheaper too... like 20$ for a trio over here not worth it especially when they forgot my drink and sauce and the chicken sandwich was just mainly batter vs actual chicken Price: Not worth it Wait time: it took a while to get the chicken sandwich made like 25-30 minutes ughh oh well maybe they're new and they're just getting a hang of it.. will maybe give it another shot someday but not for now
